      IOC won't take the medal away because they claim the statute of limitations is three years. That's bullsh_t. IOC stripped Tyler Hamilton eight years after winning his Gold in cycling. But, since it's the US, and track -- IOC doesn't want to touch it.

      Bolt is a phenom,he has been breaking world records since he was 15 yesrs old as a junior world champion.In case you didnt know, Carl Lewis failed SEVERAL drug tests,including at the US ttials for the Atlanta Olympics and this was covered up by USA Tracks.They only admitted it AFTER Carl retired and it came to light. When interviewed aboit it once, Lewis's reply was " so what,it didnt help me run faster" and claimed it was herbal suppliments.He is a bitter man because as Bolt says, he is forgotten and no one talks sbout him.He is also bitter because he KNOWS bolt is clean and so he had to smear Bolts name to try and tarnish bolts greatness.Ben Johnson himself admitted that when he ws caught taking drugs, in that era, everyone was taking drugs then. It was Carl who outed Ben because he knew he coudnt beat ben even though, he Lewis himself was also on drugs. Remember his reaction and subsequent interviews after ben beat him at the olympics. Its all there.Dont believe me? Go research and see..Carl is a bitter man becsuse he is a cheat who has been outed and forgotten by history.People will always remember Bolt as the G.O.A.T

    As a Canadian i remember feeling great pride when Ben Johnson was breaking all kinds of records, and feeling like what an accomplishment for a smaller nation compared to the usual suspects.
    But then when he tested positive, it was such a blow, and at that time the entire world was naive to the entire thing, and so steroids were so taboo to the general public. So it felt deeply embarrassing, but I remember watching Carl Lewis being smug in
    interviews afterwards, and I swear I could tell, just by the cocky attitude that he was using too. I remember thinking, it that was true, that he was using, how unfair it is,that the US, and Russia don't get caught because they have insiders on the testing, and entire labs devoted to making sure the USA or RUSSIA gets put up in big letters on the screen. And sure enough, we find out later he absolutely was. After Ben Johnson get absolutely got destroyed by the US media, and the entire time the guy they were propping up was likely cheating even more, with better more elaborate cheating systems and insider knowledge of how to get around the testing.
    So to see Lewis even speak to anything drug related is super annoying, and as I am sure most Canadians feel, you were so magnanimous when you chided Ben and won when he got disqualified and you were taking the entire time. If he had just kept quiet, I would not feel the same, but to cheat and then act like you are holier than though, and better, etc, when you were likely even worse is terribly dishonest and pathetic.
    So yea, I agree with Bolt 100%.

      @512-m7f 3 года назад +13

      Correct. Ben Johnson won the dirtiest race in history against a line up juiced to the max. Carl is a bad man for casting a shadow over the sport he cheated in for years. (it's currently 2021 and theres no talk at all of Usain ever juicing, please God it stays that way). Much respect from Ireland 🇮🇪

    • @michaeladrian2210

      Johnson still cheated. I didnt know you only had to "look" at an athlete and "tell he uses drugs"....

    • @Arrogan28
      @Arrogan28 3 года назад +1

      @@michaeladrian2210 I never said that I could tell he was lying, it has nothing to do with 'looking like he was on drugs', it was to do with the tells some people give when they are in fact basically telling people they are lying when they do it. It is a common human thing to do, to basically give hints to the truth as they lie. And that is how I could tell. Not because of how his belly looked, or all these falsehoods on the internet about telling when someone is on steroids, GH, etc.
      And my read was I guess spot on, because he has not only admitted it, other people involved have spilled it. And I personally don't care in a sport like running if someone uses or doesn't, as long as the playing field is fair. What isn't cool was the hypocrisy, as proven later. Johnson didn't deserve to have his medal pulled when most people running were on and were not penalized. You have to at least keep the rules consistent.
      What is worse. Pretending you have to follow the rules, but only bust a few people who are not in the rich boys club, and all the other athletes not in the rich boy club get pulled from the race and shamed. Even when the rich kids drugs tests had shown cheating
      .
      If you are not going to charge the rich kids, then don't charge anyone. Otherwise, you are running a police state Olympic farce....

      I formed an opinion the same as Usain based on the information that has come out since. It was enough to call him a hyocrite at the minimum as Usain said, and from what i have researched, agree with Usain. The information is not hard to find if you take a moment to search for it. I ran in the 1996 US Olympic Trials in the 100. My fastest time was 10.17. I broke 10.2 that one time and one time only. I knew it was a stretch to make the finals, but hey, I was hoping for a bust out time. You never know. I got dusted in the semi finals.
    Leading up to that while after graduating college in 1994, I ran on the circuit. One particular meet Mike Marsh was there. So I’m on the warm up track along with others. I see Mike Marsh. I decided, if I can pick his brain. To my surprise, he was cool as hell. We are their stretching, doing warm up drills, all the show just talking.
    So I asked him what do I need to do to consistently break that 10.2 barrier. I’m always around 10.22-10.26 every race. I told him my workouts. I told him my lifting refining, my eating refining. Here was his reply.
    “You gotta find the right guy with the right supplements”. That’s all he said.
    So I was just slightly confused. I had never even taken vitamins. So I flat out asked. What supplements so I can look into it. His response??? “You didn’t understand me youngin. I said the right GUY with the rift supplements”.
    Now, when he said that the 2nd time, he made a face as if to say “do you know what I mean now?”. So it hit me he meant finding the right drugs that are not detected.
    So, me being blunt. I said, you mean roids? He say, “I’m not saying that, but the human body can only be pushed so far without something to help it. No one is natural.”
    Again, me being blunt I said, “no one? Does that include you?”. He said, “at a time it included me. I’m an elder statesmen now, my time is almost up. But, gold was my dream and there was a time I was willing to give certain things a shot. If it wasn’t on the banned list I would try”.
    So I said, “even Carl Lewis?”. And his response was , “ Especially him. But he is protected. Let’s just say if I had his guy, I would be suspended. But we all know. My advice to you is if you want it bad enough and you decide to supplement yourself, do your research. All runners have this dream, but you have to decide what you’re willing to pay for it down the line young man.”
    I will never EVER forget that conversation. It changes my whole perspective on USA sprinting at that time and previous years. It was like a brick hit me. Y’all have to remember, during those days, there weren’t too many breaking that 9.95 range. Only a select few, while others were in that 10 flat range. I never did get “supplements”. At the Triials I ran a 10.28 in the trial round to qualify for the semi’s, then a 10.31 in the semis. Like my man Mike Marsh said, I didn’t want it bad enough, but I was happy with what I did. Sure I could have run better in the semis, but I did what I did.

They represented mainland countries and were still successful, so yes they did represent mainland countries and hence could not have gotten away with anything according to you. That's just Jamaican excellence for you.
      Just so you know your "mainland countries cannot" statement is BS. Lance Armstrong- Never tested positive during his superhuman career, confesses to drug use after retiring, Marion Jones- Never tested positive during her superhuman career, confesses to drug use after retiring, Carl Lewis- tested positive for 3 stimulants at the 1988 US Olympic Trials, still allowed to compete. Mainland countries especially the USADA get away with a lot if you ask me, but you wouldn't know because you don't like Jamaica.

      @Joe Bloggs Idgaf what you or Victor Conte says. Your population argument falls apart by virtue of the fact that Jamaicans have been winning Olympic medals representing these mainland countries since the 1980s (Canada and Great Britain), so using your logic, let's say Bolt and Powell got away with everything, does that change the fact that 3 consecutive Olympic champions, born and bred Jamaicans didn't. Not to mention the fact that Jamaican domestic athletes have been winning Olympic medals since 1948 and even equalled the 100 m WR in 1971 and the 200 m WR in 1976. Don't comment on what you don't know about. Even the Olympic record which Bolt broke in 2008 was held by Donovan Bailey, a Jamaican representing Canada.
      You be quiet f****ng a***ole (I'm only censoring this since You Tube keeps deleting my comment).You do realize there is such a thing as culture right? Track and field is to Jamaica what football is to Brazil or what cricket is to India. Your population argument has zero logic when track and field is not as major a sport in USA where there is basketball, baseball, American football, ice hockey and the like or any other country as it is in Jamaica. For one, Jamaica has hardly another sport which could detract from track and field, only football and cricket, secondly Jamaica's population is really small, so it is really easy to identify a talent pool. Unlike the USA, every Jamaican child takes track and field seriously at least once in their lives. At recess, Jamaican kids literally line up to race each other especially during track season, so it's easy for us to get into track from an early age.
      By your own retarded logic, during the Six Day War, Israel with a population of 2.7 million at the time should have lost to Syria, Jordan and Egypt who attacked simultaneously and had a total population of 40 million and yet Israel won convincingly and is yet to lose a war to this day. You can say Jamaica is doping all you want, but your argument makes 0 sense and just shows how dense and impressionable you are.

      Ben slowed down at the end in his 9.79. With track and shoe advances, plus if he had ran through the end harder, I do think Johnson would be right up there with any top guys BEHIND Bolt.
      My view, Bolt was in his own league, and then it's super close between Gay, Johnson, Powell, Gatlin and Blake. Although...the ONLY time Bolt ran that nobody has approached was the single 9.58. His 9.69 is matched by several runners, and Powell never fulfilled his potential.

When it comes to Carl Lewis...he is the greatest track and field athlete ever...due to him winning 4 gold medals in 1 Olympics - like Jessie Owens and also with the fierce competition that he faced during his day. Nowadays - there is really only 2 or 3 real challenges to Usain Bolt. Also - Carl's longevity is amazing - in a sport where sprinters don't last long. This guy was still winning races in his 30's. Now - when Usain gets in his 30's, still wins world titles and starts long jumping - so he can win 4 gold medals in 1 Olympics - we can talk. Carl Lewis will always be the standard - and that has nothing with being am American. Jamaica has produced some of the greatest sprinters the world has ever seen - there is no doubt about that. It would be delusional to think at the very top level where it's nothing other than the best of the best genetics that are so so closely matched, that if just one is using and avoiding detection, then he/she will win, but what you really end up with is the best genetics combined with best drugs protocols winning in most athletic events, especially speed, power and endurance events. Nowadays the biological passport can be beaten easily, and when there's so much at stake, I assure people will cheat. I admit its just assumption, but Lewis's competitiveness combined with that era almost assures he was using. All else being equal, like work ethics ect, a natural genetic freak will 100% loose to a juiced genetic freak, although admittedly there's two sides to the genetics part, one being suitability for a given event, the other is the genetic response to the drugs, but at that time I'd be fairly confident the 100m Olympic finalists are all dirty at certain times of the season.

    Usain has nothing left to prove, there is almost no motivation for him right now,secondly he doesnt exert his energy running great races all year round & pushing all that effort. He runs when he needs to defend his titles,that pretty much it. He already wants to retire.Hes already broken all the records for his races, not once but twice. what exactly would he be pushing harder for at this point?

    Whatever he takes? He did not become a beast in 2008,he was a beast before. Carl is really an American because Carl was never caught with steroids or exogenous testosterone does not mean he never took anything, Marion Jones was tested many time and never test positive but she was doping, I heard person argue that what he test positive for is not on the ban list, but it was at some point Americans would find excuses for people like Carl Lewis

    like him or not, what Carl Lewis did for T&F is the same as what Magic and Bird did for the NBA. Especially in America, track athletes were not making much money. Carl came in demanding appearance fees and endorsements.
    Bolt like Michael Jordan are bigger names and better athletes, but they took over and made more popular what the others put in motion. Let us not forget Ben Johnson either, both he and Carl brought attention to T&F on a yearly basis, and not just the Olympics.
    For the sake of all TF fans, we better all hope Bolt is clean.

    • @dantheman4838
      @dantheman4838 8 лет назад +5

      They both brought attention and scandal in equal measure. Both were liars and cheaters, both were arrogant and self-centered and both gave sprinting a bad name. It took Bolt to resort the reputation and prestige of the 100 meter sprint and bring back all the attention. So. Carl Lewis of, all people, should not be talking, never mind criticizing.

    Actually the fact is that when you make accusations it is only fair that you have proof.So until someone proves that Usain and other Jamaican sprinters are doping please do not insult their talent and hardwork by suggesting they are on something.Surely a 15 yr old who becomes the youngest junior to win a 200m and a 17yrld who breaks the world record with 19.93 decimating his competitors by winning races by huge margins like Usain has done,does not need to be doping.

    Usain escaped getting caught around 2008 to 2009. He has now come off any gear after his team mates got caught. That's why you aren't seeing him come even close to 9.58 or 19.19 anymore. He has to rely on his own talent now. And that's not guaranteed to win every time.
