BMW E30 C191 Connector Repair

  • The C191 connector, or "Bitch Connector" on the M20 engine is a connector that connects the injector power and temperature sensor to the ECU, and commonly has corrosion problems.

    Someone completely took off both sides of the connectors on mine and just straight saudered them both back together without a connector. I've been trying to figure out what it was exactly lol C191, awesome. Thanks for the video and the laughs lol

    Thanks for posting that pal. Mine started running on 3 cylinders (sounded similar to a VR6 actually). I will have a look at that C191.

    That’s the fuel injector wiring harness and u can get to that portion easily by taking off the valve cover and disconnecting it from the injectors after disconnecting the c191. I think it also connects to 2 ports on the thermostat. No need to swap out the entire harness!

    My car turned off while it was running. Checked for spark, air, compression and fuel: all check. I sprayed carburettor cleaner directly on the throttle body and the car managed to turned on while i had my foot on the gas. My guess is that i have a fuel problem. Any help?

      Look next to the water reservoir, there should be 3 relays. The middle one is for the fuel pump, take it out and look at the terminals. if you short the middle left and middle bottom terminals it should turn the fuel pump on. if it doesn't, you probably need a fuel pump. If it does, I would try getting a new relay.

    Working on this issue. You were about to explain how to take the bottom part of the connection off.. does it unscrew all the way or does it do a full counterclockwise circle then pulled apart? If the second option, how many times does it go around before pulling it apart? Thanks

      I don't remember how many times you need to turn it, but I do remember it being pretty stuck. You may need to use some pliers to twist it, or just cut it off and replace it with a new plug.

    @Haters Garage: what airflow meter is that? Also, I have an 86 325es with 2.7 eta and I'm having similar issues, definitely gonna check this out.

      It was a knockoff Ebay AFM; it worked surprisingly well. Running on Megasquirt now, though.
