The original 1950s movie was funny. Then the first remake from the 1980s was awesome. Now this 2nd remake was ok

I agree that the 1980's version "The Thing" was awesome. It seemed to be far more subtle than this remake and far more of a creepy horror story. This one seems to have elements of "Alien", a remote crew (Antarctica rather than deep space) being attacked by a big scary creature.
Even though not as good as The Thing it is still an enjoyable sci-fi movie.

Another remake, nothing new here! Can't Hollywood come up with an original idea anymore!!!
The dog part never really made any sense. The alien clearly doesn't like the cold, yet it somehow decided it can go out now and sprint through the cold. Even if it replicated the hair, it's whole body including the hairs would still be alien and be exposed to the cold.

1. Don't put such pleasant background music for a thriller movie. You should use proper background music with respect to movie theme.
