I am pleased to announce the first official trailer for Skywind, a fan made modification for Skyrim that brings the world of Morrowind to the Skyrim engine. The entire video is based off of the official Skyrim launch trailer. Footage in this video does not reflect the final product.

I recommend playing the original Morrowind first, so you can experience the game they are remaking before you play the remade version, and appreciate Skywind a little more.
Andrew Webber I've played morrowind for like 20 minutes. I made my character started that Ike guys quest and was like wait were did he want me to go again, and then I couldn't find him to ask so I got bored haha. I'm to used to first persons holding my hand

Umm, not really. The point of them remaking it on the skyrim engine is so that ppl that prefer skyrims way of playing can play morrowind but in a way so they are able to enjoy it

Haha, I didn't actually find whether or not you can buy this on Steam. It doesn't look like you need to, as long as you own copies of both games.

Rajit Sarkar I have Skyrim from Steam, and as soon as this is ready, I'll get Morrowind from Steam as well, so it sort of does answer that question.

having only played skyrim, I totally look forward to this, but, especially with the song of the dragonborn playing in the background, I will miss being the dragonborn, I will miss dragons, but I look forward to a new hyper-special protagonist (seriously, dragonborn, harbinger of the companions, listener, archmage, skaalfriend, wow)
lol I am kind of opposite to this as I first heard that song playing Morrowind back on the original Xbox. When Skyrim released it's trailer using the same song the nostalgia kicked in really hard XD

I admire the effort but I just don't feel it, it doesn't have that elder scrolls feel. But who am I to judge something that isn't even released yet.
How can it not have the elderscrolls feel, its just a remake of an older elderscrolls game, its the same look just upgraded textures and stuff

It will require Skyrim AND Morrowind (for legal reasons) and it is a mod run through Skyrim. It will be like a new game though. Start a new game, new character, etc.

Due to the fact that they're doing this for free, Bethesda really can't do anything.
If anything, it will be good for Bethesda, considering you have to own Morrowind, both its expansions, and Skyrim in order to run Skywind. Those Morrowind fans who want better graphics will have to buy Skyrim as well, raking in more cash for Bethesda.

+Nev v If they did it wouldn't make any sense. Sure they want to sell Morrowind too but that game barely works on most modern PCs. Along with that people that want Skywind most likely already have Morrowind. And chances are you need to buy Dawnguard (Crossbows) and Dragonborn (everything) to even play this. So they're gonna be making all the money from this.
Bethesda is an awesome company. They're not gonna go ape shit about it. Hell, they might even say something about it upon its release.

Justin Dunbar Legal reasons! It uses the same story, characters, etc of Morrowind. Even though all the original assets are being replaced, we are still required to.

please make it able to support small multiplay like 4-8 people, that;
can all free-roam in differnt section of the world at a time,
can do quests together,
can do things like; break their friends out of prison or other cool things like that, i don't know.
Because every one knows Skyrim would have been that much better if it had small multi-player that worked properly, especially if it worked with mods.

Oh It's possible, but it would require some insane programming. It wouldn't be a mod, it would be a full damn product. Involving modifications to the engine, which I think is illegal. If they could do it with Just Cause 2, they could do it with Skyrim. It's just too big of a hassle.

It's doable, but Bethesda would bring down the litigation hammer down so hard that the modders would be eating shill for the rest of their lives. It's not restricted on the technology level, it's restricted on the legal level. Hell, even ENB is technically illegal. Texture and skeleton modifications are fine. Dismanteling the Creation Engine to do Multiplayer is definitely not. Just Cause 2 actually embraced the Multiplayer mod. Bethesda would probably shit a chicken.
