So cute, so fluffy. Coyotes are my favorite animals. So smart and adaptive and probably the best predator of rodents around. If it were not for them we would be overrun with mice and rats.
It's a coyote. They're not domesticated, they are wild animals and they will bite, scratch, and attack you. Coyotes are not always friendly even if you raise them.
@@wafflcoptr sounds like just about every dog ever. Go ahead and express that same attitude on a dog raised on the street. let me see how confident you are then.
Wild, undomesticated dogs. Haha. Rescuers have tamed them but they still got their quirks. Dangerous too if not prepared to handle them. They’ll dig deep holes, hop over the tallest fences, potentially kill neighbors’ pets, and they like to nip and nibble to show affection. If they’re familiar with you, it might hurt but they know not to break the skin.
Need your adopted coyote to pass as a dog? Tell neighbors it's a Saarloos. Saarloos Wolfdog is probably the dog breed that is most similar to coyotes. These canines have slim bodies, elongated face and legs, similar fur color.
Super cute puppy, remember - dogs (and coyotes) with high prey drive, sometimes benefit from actually Learning to hunt! (How to hunt) so that way they learn - when NOT to hunt! :) - But mostly - introducing them to other animals and socializing them with different animals early will already be sufficient!
@@lancerevo9747 depends. Sometimes wild animals actually go out of their way to look for humans to follow them for help. It is a thing that does happen. As if they are beginning to seek aid from us. Could be a sign that they are warming up to us, slightly.
@@lancerevo9747 You have a very skewed look on animals and how they work. I’m an animal behaviorist in training and I can assure you that if your pet coyote, or any other animal, tears you to shreds…. it is because you did not do the right thing to train them properly/aren’t treating them well. They view you as a pack members/parents so they will not lash out on you like that if you treat them right and train them right. To me they’re not just pets, they’re family. You would do anything to ensure they have the best health and care which will make them be a well rounded and well behaved family members. I’m also thinking that you’re a person that thinks only domesticated pets, and animals, are proper pets because they’ve been domesticated. But that’s also a very skewed look on animals. For example, Domestic minks aren’t always great pets to have because they were bred for their fur and nothing else, but depending on the person and the training, they can be awesome pets. Wolf dogs can be the most amazing pets you ever have, you have to realize that the canine family is a very social group, and tend to share very similar traits to canis lupus familiars. You know, dogs? No I’m not saying that they are exactly like one another I’m just saying they are very familiar and share the pack sense. And I know that coyotes and foxes tend to be more reserved and like to live on their own but they can be seen in groups and they are good pets when you know what you’re getting into. This is like stereotyping, a certain dog breed like Pitbulls and Rottweilers, saying that they’re very dangerous dogs and will kill you in a second. But the only reason they ever got that title is because they were bred and put into a legal dogfighting rings and taught to fight. But in all reality, they can be the sweetest little babies ever. Sure they can do some damage to a kid, but any dog will when they’re not trained properly and any dog can lash out. I don’t expect you to take much from this, but I’m hoping that you do because not all animals should be labeled the way that they are labeled. If we domesticated, dogs, cats, rodents, and any other animal that we’ve got under our thumbs, then we sure as hell can make pets out of the other wild ones. The only reason domestic pets are as common as pets is because we know more about them than we do the other animals. But that doesn’t mean the other animals make horrible pets, and will lash out on you just because they’re wild. Furthermore, they adopted this coyote as a puppy and are raising their own. That will make a big difference in the development of the animals, psyche and view towards humans. They are doing a very good deed towards the well-being of this animals. Animals definitely going to have a long and happy life. Better than dying because you’ve been orphaned as a baby in the wild.
@@beverlybarnes3122 Yes, I know. I released one from a Victor leg hold trap years ago. It had every chance to attack me, but it didn't. All the while I depressed the traps spring with my foot I talked to it softly as I held my hand on it's back covered with a canvas jacket I'd been wearing. Once I freed it I pulled the jacket away, and the coyote turned to stare me in the eyes and then leapt to freedom. I'll never forget that look. Those intelligent amber eyes. The monsters were the ones who set that trap. The two legged's.
I saw a baby coyote at a desert rest area in eastern California. It wasn't so young that it was helpless, but it wasn't old enough to be considered an adult. I definitely wasn't going to pet that coyote. He'd have been too scared if I approached him anyway.
Ricksonkimura thank you for being so respectful to our wildlife ❤️ if it looks like a regular newborn puppy and has folded ears/ closed eyes, take it to a rescue. Otherwise, it probably is exploring
You see this pup in the video? The pup at the rest stop was slightly bigger than that. Do you really feel it's completely defenseless at that age? It didn't look like it to me

I just found one in the road early this week. He was dehydrated and had worms. The animal sanctuary says he is going to be OK they think. They determined he wasn't hit by a car, so that was good. I have no idea why he was just laying in the road, exhausted and scared. I guess so I could find him.
Thank you for taking him to a sanctuary. Coyotes do not make great pets. They deserve to live their life in the wild. I am not just stating an opinion.
