i really appreciate the trope of the "unwillingly redeemed antagonist" being showcased here. like kevins thirst for blood can never be quenched, he knows nothing but pure malice and hatred, and yet here he is; redeemed by doing what he does best. truly remarkable 10/10 would kev again
Eh...he's more like the misunderstood/ false antagonist where you think he's pure evil til you find out near the end of the story that his actions were actually good and noble and he made the sacrifice of his image being tarnished for the greater good.
The switch up from " A little protein shake for my son - my adorable little Kevin baby " to " I'm 'boutta start drop kicking this man " is really just a metaphor for becoming an adult. Keep up the great parenting ❤️
Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. Salam (Peace) --------------------
I wouldn't be surprised if it was so passive because people had fed it in the past or something like that, so it started to view humans as being "friendly".
I love seeing Uncle Ben be real and drop character every once in a while, it shows that he really cares about the animals and making sure they're treated well.
It was dangerous due to dababy running on asphalt and concrete which he wasn't used to even tore the flesh on his feet a bit. There was also the more obvious threat of idiots and cars
It makes sense Kevin can fight off predators, in the wild they have to defend their offspring from Pumas (cougars). So a little/most likely sick coyote is a minor inconvenience especially for the beast that is Kevin.
Pretty sure that's a different species of Rhea. Isn't Kevin a Greater Rhea? Lesser Rheas are the species native to the same regions as the Andean Cougar. Though ratites are all badasses.
I worked in wild dog rehabilitation for nearly a decade (Coyotes, wolves, strays, and even foxes at times) Coyotes are far more intelligent than you would think is possible. They will stare at you and submit because they know they have lost, and you would have already killed them if you wanted to. They are mostly scavengers, and females are far more docile than males. With her looking to be around a year old she is most likely just submitting and exhausted. They are obviously dangerous when cornered, but they know humans will usually always win a fight one on one. They also are not fully nocturnal, and often sleep whenever they want to. Coyotes are much closer to canis familiaris than any other canine, and usually will quickly give up after a short struggle.
This one may have been partially tame. They also eat stuff left out by people that get them sick. This one may have been looking for a safe place because it knew it was too weak survive on its own; could have been hit by a car too.
Not like it's some massive windfall of lore/data, but......thanks, mate :D, I appreciate you better informing me and others. I absolutely love animals -always have; and it's always nice to learn a little bit more about the critters that cohabit this world with me :).
It’s so funny seeing a predator, more scared of its prey. The fact that Kevin couldn’t have cared less about the coyote was hilarious. I’m really glad that you promoted him to security.
Coyotes specifically are rather weak among canines. They don't have as high a bite force, and their teeth aren't as long and sharp as wolves go. They can kill stuff that's smaller than them and certainly do better in a pack against 1 target. But they often get beaten by anything larger than them. Including Emu's like Kevin, who can and will gladly kick and peck the shit out of them.
i heard that lion or tiger trainers use chairs to keep them back. that’s because they mistake the chair legs as horns, making them scared. and you know who has horns? (big) prey/herbivores, like elk or deer etc after all, predators kill for food and need to reserve their energy, so if you’re not worth it they back off prey are mostly herbivores, so they have plenty of food supplies, and they only kill if it’s to save their life
You're such a kind soul! Texan here myself, and If you would like or need additional pet supplies such as bowls and mats donated, let me know. May God bless you!
The coyote wasn't feral. It was wild. A feral animal is a domestic animal that never had an owner before. This is what differentiates them from strays who as their name suggests, strayed away from their home. Also, no matter how friendly a domesticated animal is, as long as it was born and survived without humans, it's feral.
Love how Kevin went through a genuine redemption arc. He started off as an abusive father/husband and an antagonistic sociopath to anybody else. Then, he got banished from his home due to his despicable behavior. In his banishment, he learned that he can be a better person and help those in need with his remarkable capabilities that he once used only for evil. He truly is one of the greatest vigilantes of our time.
Kevin may be an ungrateful son, but he is a super protective papa. Props to Ben for being super clear on how abnormal that coyote was and I am so happy he is putting up a rehab that could help coyotes in the future.
@@RadDadisRad so they are more willing to adapt to people. Hm. Means they may be easier to domesticate and make inti a new breed of dog, or allow for coydogs to become real
@@Pexil_Effex they are more flexible with their behavior to get what they want. Yes they can be domesticated. My parents had a 1/2 dog 1/2 coyote that they got from the SPCA. Dog was RIDICULOUSLY intelligent. Barked at planes, hunted birds and small game from within a fence.
I love how since the dogs aren't coming out during the day Kevin has been made the de facto guardian of the ranch, scaring wild coyotes so much they would rather be taken to a cage than let Kevin get them.
Clearly the coyote wants to come and live on the Urban Rescue ranch and be loved and cared for like all your other animals. It's tough out there for wild animals.
i love how kevin is fine with the coyote there that rheas and other ratites usually kill without hesitation but the moment you arrive he goes into murder mode
Honestly this thing probably hadn't eaten or drank in 2 or 3 days, and after finally getting a chicken or two I'm sure Kevin pecked the hell of it and chased it around all night. That coyote was a combination of dazed, confused, starving, thirsty, and traumatized. A wild coyote meeting Kevin would also probably be like a human being discovering velociraptors are still alive and then getting into a fight with one.
Not to be that guy, but velociraptors were about the size of a turkey. A Human would more than likely win 99% of encounters with a velociraptor. Though a raptor likely could have easily killed this coyote. J.Park raptors were just deinonychus that had their names changed to velociraptor.
Seeing this kind of stuff happen that results in Uncle Ben talking normally and seriously really shows how off the situation is from the norm. It actually makes me sad with how hard it hits him when he can't legally do anything.
Yeah and he can’t do anything about the drought because global warming is the cause. I really want to stop global warming. Someone predicted we only have 12 years left and tbh I’m not surprised if that’s true
I love how most people would be freaking out and stressed that there's a coyote on their property, but meanwhile he's just offering Kevin a protein shake whilst the coyote is a few hundred feet away from him. best channel ever hands-down
You are the first person that I've seen to be extremely chill, calm and understanding around a coyote. I hope a lot of people are educated from your video.
Kevin really is a doubled edged character. Usually we have the 99% of cases with him just attacking uncle Ben, but then we have stuff like this. It is crazy to think about that we probably would have lost more without him.
@@insolencesubtroll4190 they were talking about kevin the bird not uncle ben, you should watch more videos from him and then start to comment to his videos
Quite a few years ago, a coyote got into a friend's yard and had it's way with his female dog that was in heat at the time. He ended up with a batch of half german shepherd half coyote babies. Took one of them myself and she was the sweetest dog , but DAMN could she jump. When I took her on walks out in the orchards, she'd just tear out through the rows of trees as fast as she could.
@@Pexil_Effex reality check; wild canine + domesticated dog, not meant to be a pet and a bad idea. hope all the baby coydogs got spayed/neutered because breeding them would be selfish and inhumane, especially considering that they're illegal in most areas and could end with a death sentence for the innocent pup. so, no.
We had a male coyote that mated with our female dog when I was young..I remember it basically moved in to our property and became domestic. I recall petting it.. it may have been a hybrid already but was mostly coyote for sure!
Kevin may be quite the rascal, but when Poggers and Queen are out of commision, it’s nice to him protect the others by being himself and chasing a coyote like he would chase our esteemed Uncle Ben
I lived in South Padre Island, Tx & used to see coyotes running on the sand flats. Fast forward, I live next to Vancouver B.C. ( western Canada)next to Capilano Rainforest & to my surprise an animal the size of deer, appeared in our adjoining yard. It was a northern Pacific West coyote species more like a wolf. Sadly cougar, bears, coyotes are often killed rather than relocating, how "officials" respond - my heart sank about you reporting this little guy who needs a kindly human to help him out. As you said, " like a dog". The land & habitat was once theirs. I hope there was a fair solution Ben. 🐕💞
My uncle had a pet coyote when I was a kid. He had rescued it from a drain, he had it for yrs and most people had no idea until he told them and it listened and had better temperament then a lot of domesticated dogs I've seen. You sir remind me of a young version of my uncle, keep doing you bro you have a soul that shines, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
@@lyssao.8308 people have been taking wolves and coyotes puppies in for centuries. They become no different than any other dog. Although I remember one time a old man died up in his cabin in the woods nearby my house and they had to call his son states away to get his wolf's away because they were protecting his dead body. They were going to shoot them, but the dogs wouldn't chase them, just keep them 5 feet from the body with growls and lunges.
Kevin seems like the oldest child who pushes around the littler ones, but deep down really cares for them and would beat the shit out of anyone that hurts them
I've lived with coyotes my whole life, in the PNW they must be way more skittish, only ones I ever got close to were babies. That one must hadn't eaten for days or something :/
it's weird how they all look different. and they bark, didn't know that, saw a video where one was caught in a trap and the killed it, but it was barking just like, well, a dog. I felt bad for it, glad they didn't show how they did, but hope it was humane. somehow I don't think so.
That coyote had a weird wound on its head. Plus, considering the draught and ll the heat on top of what you mentioned? It's most likely it was too exhausted to fight back. I've seen that happen with a few wild animals that sneak into my backyard (although in their case they're usually sick).
Yeah... I don't have high hopes for the coyote. Seems like it might just die. Hopefully it will meet up with its family (if it has one) and they'll help it out... hopefully. I don't know if coyotes share food with each other or not.
And she doesnt look like a regular coyote most likely a coyote dog shes still young but even still her snout, is a bit too long most coyotes have longer hair and are a bit taller.
It was almost a month ago when youtube randomly suggested this video to me. Since then, I watched all your older videos, and now I am rewatching this, knowing the lore, the arcs, the whole Urban Rescue Ranch universe, and I can see how Kevin evolved. He is the white knight, the hero we need.
Yeah, see I have 4 chickens and I consider all of them by babies. They come when called let me pet and hold them. If one came for them I don't think I'd have the kindness to let it go. Poor thing is just trying to eat but my babies mean more to me than they do. It's mean but I would have to. It's gonna suck when they pass from old age it'd be even worse if they got ripped apart. I love all animals even the ones many hate like wasps and spiders. I've even pet them before my dad had a coyote mix and she was the sweetest dog my dad said he ever had. When I was a baby and was crying for whatever reason she'd whimper and pick me up by my shirt (as long as I had one on) and take me to my mom and dad. It sucks natures so metal sometimes but it teaches you. I hope you have a good day my friend!
@@seanroberson8688 tbh i don't think that's weird at all. I think I'd go mad if someone dared eating my cats. I'm just glad I don't live in an area where wildlife exist that could eat my cats up.
This is probably the best video Uncle Ben has produced on this channel. We get 2 creature features, we get to know more about what he does, the stuff that's going on, we get another capybara swimming session, (also known as the clementine function), and more! Good job, Uncle Ben. You deserve your great community that watches all your unique and entertaining videos.
This video just showed up in my recommended feed, so this is the first video that I've ever seen from this channel. Let me tell you, it feels like I'm watching someone play a recording of their ranching fever dream. I've never seen someone walk up to a whole wild coyote, squat down very close to it, ask it if it wanted a protein shake, and then walk off unharmed to ask a rhea if it wanted a protein shake next. This is exactly the sort of content that I need more of. Subscribed immediately.
As an environmentalist, what we need to do as humans is to bring back their natural habitat were they will have a place to live and be themselves and have food to eat. Some people suggest to having a protected park for these animals like 100 acres of land where you can introduce like all the species of carnivores endemic to your country and like all the endemic herbivores, rodents and animals that are natural prey for these carnivores. There would be a places where there are mounds, rocks and boulders among grass, plants, trees, and shrubs surrounded by ponds scattered among the area and there would be rocky places in the edges of these locations where the carnivores would be placed. There would be medium sized herbivores like goats and sheeps and deers scattered around which would be game for the medium sized predators like cayotes and the likes. We just need to create a place for these poor animals where they can live out their lives as they should be.
@@joshua2400 Funny. I am actually planning of going offgrid to live on my own. Without having anything except my laptop, cellphone, Bible and cat, to live in my mini camper. I've had family feud with my parents for a long time, as they have betrayed my trust and gaslit me telling me it's my fault for trusting them. Years of hard work for people who would not even acknowledge my hard work and my sacrifice to make our family work. So, I have to leave. Leave my pain and my sorrows behind and be free from the memory of my betrayal. I prayed for healing and forgiveness, but the pain is always in my heart, the words they said and they won't even apologize or acknowledge what they did was wrong. Since my heart can't forgive them, I'm leaving them behind with my hatred for them. I've fallen into depression that I can't work, I can't think and focus and I feel emasculated and dehumanized for their betrayal. Hopefully when I leave, I would have peace of mind and learn to forgive them in the future.
It's actually not that unusual for coyotes to be that okay with people. Urban coyote populations have been observed interacting with people fairly regularly, it's also note worthy to mention they've been observed memorizing train schedules and can differentiate traffic signals in cities so they know when to cross train tracks or roads safely. This Coyote has probably never seen a rae before and was in shock by it, not to mention mal nourished and unable/willing to fight. That coyote has seen people and knows people are generally speaking not a threat, of the available options you're the safer one.
I'm not sure about your last point. A coyote in Texas would know that humans and dogs hang out, and both are a danger. Humans also commonly shoot at coyotes.
@@Homerow1 not necessarily. It is not like they go to a coyote school for pups. It would have to witness a human or dog being cruel to it or another coyote or even animal. It is relatively young, so maybe it has not had that happen to it. Still you'd assume it would be skittish though around strangers, so maybe it's been fed before by humans.
@@Homerow1 we're talking about learned behavior, Coyotes that learn humans and dogs are bad usually don't live to pass on the lesson. This coyote I guarantee this day and age knows about people, and dogs... But that Rae is s new experience it doesn't know how to guage. Again given the choices between large angry bird chasing me.. Or person asking me if I want a protein shake and not being aggressive. I'm going to absolutely go for the thing that isn't currently trying to kill me. Coyotes are the most adapted non-domesticated animal to humans.
@@Homerow1 It's also important to note I live in the country, I've been a few feet from coyotes who didn't seem to mind... My dogs have been chased and in several fights with coyotes. Neighbors have shot and killed coyotes (along with one of my dogs I believe) My other dog is now deathly afraid of gunshots and fireworks and will run full speed to the house and put her back against the wall and wait for one of us to be there. Or if we're outside she'll come up and pet herself between our legs... because again, learned behavior. She knows that noise means dogs fall down :(
If the coyote is not sick, it's possible that it was a tame coyote raised by humans. Some people find or steal coyote pups and then when the coyote matures, they realize it may be too wild for them to keep, or it's no longer cute and release it. The problem though is a tame coyote doesn't know how to hunt because it wasn't ever taught how to and chances are will starve.
Sadly, we have so many irresponsible people around here stealing coyote pups, raising them, and then just dumping them when they're no longer cute pups. The only fortunate thing is that coyotes are scavengers and that, along with prey drive is already instinct they are born with. Which is what makes them so difficult for those people to handle and why they dump them. As they get bigger, they get into everything, always getting loose, killing small pets and other animals and just an overall "nuisance " to the pup thieves because they're ill-equipped to handle these natural behaviors. So, with that said, the only good thing about this whole situation is that they are more than capable of not only surviving, but thriving just as they would had they been raised wild. However, it does other damage by them being unafraid of humans, where they become a nuisance to the area they were dumped, and if they find and join another pack, they bring them along, encourage them to be less afraid of humans. Then the poor things end up being shot, or put down by animal control because of the lack of fear and the nuisance they cause.
@@sirweebs2914 You are wrong, and that is not the same situation at all. People often let pet cats roam, so house cats can learn to hunt while coming home to be fed by their owners. People also feed stray cats. That is not the same for dogs (or in this case coyotes). People don't allow their pet dog or coyote to roam around during the day. There is a reason animal parents feed while teaching their offspring to hunt. Any animal dumped is being abandoned without survival skills and no way to eat while learning to hunt, which means a high chance they will starve. That is why wildlife professionals send tame or raised in captivity animals to Sanctuaries instead of released in the wild.
@@sirweebs2914 Maybe lizards but the smarter a creature is, the more dependent it becomes on learned behaviors. If its taught to depend on humans, it WILL until it CAN'T and then it doesn't know what to fall back on because it was never taught any of those wild skills. See?
@@sirweebs2914 Its amazing that your neighbours didnt dispose of your cat. If he nearly kills mine, I would relocate him without you ever knowing what happened.

Thank you for giving the adorable little pointy lass a chance at life. They may have a well-earned reputation as pet-killers but they’re still just living creatures trying to get by.
I’m in love with this channel. It’s like watching an tv show. Seeing him bit by bit get ever closer to his goals. The progression of the first house, to the shambles of the crack house, to buildin the fence etc. I can’t wait to see the facility start coming up.
I am very familiar with coyotes, they wander around my house chasing squirrels and rabbits. I live in a large wooded area and I can hear a group of about 6 come through my area. They are very used to people as they are urban coyotes. Still I will keep my distance. Love how calm and collected you are with animals, that makes them trust you.
@@InvidiousIgnoramus He's just comparing coyotes and dingos to each other because of their similarities. Lots of stories of people taking in dingos as pets and not turning out very well. Same can be said for coyotes. Not sure what the confusion is.
Videos like this really show how bad the drought is in Waco/CentralTX right now. The creek near me is dried up for miles except for the deepest parts. The other day I saw a snapping turtle in like 2 feet of mud. Its bad. The coyote is probably just dehydrated and lacking the energy to get back over the fence. @@Pepe-pq3om the same reason people dont like rats that live outside their apartment or raccoons that steal your garbage. those fuckers will hop over your fence, into your yard, rip your poodle to literal shreds and then scamper away
I have never seen this channel before but I love this guy. He has such a passion and compassion for animals of all shapes and sizes, it is so nice to see. Most jerks would probably shoot their bb guns at the Coyote instead of trying to gently remove it from their property while saying what a beautiful animal it is. Most people see coyotes as a nuisance animal. Having had family members and myself lose a cat from Coyotes has turned me off of them and having a small dog and seeing them around my neighborhood does kind of freak me out. But every time I've seen one which is about 5 times they just run away even when my little dog is with me. It's so funny this one lady at my apartment got one of those Coyote vests for her little dog with all of the spikes sticking out of them and the crazy long straw like looking things. The dog was in absolutely no danger, it was in the middle of the day with a bunch of people around and a lot of activity going on and she was just walking her dog around the apartment building. I've only seen coyotes in my neighborhood at night or early in the morning I did actually I see one in the middle of the day but it was on the trail not by my apartment which is surrounded by shopping center on 2 sides and townhouses on the other 2 sides. Anyway it was hilarious this poor dog looked so embarrassed wearing his Coyote vest but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I know if a Coyote ever came after my dog that Coyote would regret it. When I was younger my brother's friend's mom was attacked while walking their beagle Lucky. Lucky was a former movie star star, he was in the episode of Malcolm in the middle when Reese decides to join the dog pack. My brother's friend's mom was tiny like not even 5' tall and super petite. Her and Lucky fought off the Coyotes however in the process she managed to break her arm and Lucky did have to go to the vet and get a few stitches but in the end his name held true and he got really Lucky. In this case it was a pack not an individual. That happened in Fullerton California in a very nice neighborhood. I now live in Brea in a very nice neighborhood my point being they can come out from anywhere. So always be on guard if you are walking your small dog or if you think it's a good idea to let your cat outside. Anyway I just want to give this guy props because it's really cool I think what he is doing and I just love seeing somebody so Excited and Compassionate Over an animal most people think are not worth a dime. I actually love coyotes, when I'm driving in the desert and see one running around I get all excited. Last Thanksgiving me and my family went to Catherine's landing, a place we used to go to all the time when we were little to go water skiing and enjoy the lake and the surrounding environment. The last time we were there we brought our 2 little dogs and there were coyotes literally right next to us everywhere, right over a little hill bank. You could hear them so clearly and loud when they would howl. My fiance was super freaked for our dog safety and made me keep Tripper inside even though I was Holding him and had my brother and dad and fiance right next to us. I was fascinated we used a flashlight because it was dark out and we wanted to see one and it was so cool when we saw one poking its head up. I love seeing wild animals in their natural habitat just not in my neighborhood or if I had one in my backyard. To the guy in this film keep up the good work, your obvious love and compassion for animals is very inspiring and you have a beautiful soul and a big heart.
No seriously though coyotes are a problem. Do NOT feel bad for them. If your legs were broke in the middle of no where and you couldn’t help yourself these things would literally eat you alive.
@@Semba999 I mean tbf if I was a coyote and there was this human with a broken leg that can barely defend itself, and I’m hungry ofc I’m gonna eat it. Food is food
Coyotes are wonderful creatures. Kudos for being kind to the wildlife instead of just popping one in it's head, even though you'd have every right to since it ate your animal.
It looks like a half-tame coyote. Thats why she was chill. I have raccoons and possums and even a mountain lion that stops by my house for treats. (Not the lion. He just chills on the porch.) And if any of those still-wild animals see a different human, they act the same way. Passive, but alert. As if they want to chill but are unsure if you're a *good* human like the other one.
Dude you're doing exactly what my girlfriend and I want to do. We want to rehab animals so badly. Not exactly coyotes but I would definitely consider it. Thank you for not having it "humanely dispatched."
@Infinity farmers who've had dogs/entire batches of chickens killed by them tend to anthropomorphize the animal as doing it intentionally and set out for revenge against them.
@Infinity Is it my fault if I secure my belongings properly and yet a burglar still manages to break in and steal them? No. Stop saying things that are wrong.
I do miss the madness and chaos on tiktok that I fell in love with in the first place, but I would do just about anything for uncle Ben and the animals
It’s absolutely insane how calm that coyote is, maybe it was raised domestically as a pet then later released? I’m no expert in any regard when it comes to irregular animal behavior but that’s my best guess. Nevertheless, keep up the awesome work Uncle Farmer Dad Ben 👑
Very unlikely, you can tame a coyote but it still acts somewhat like a coyote. Like even when tame it wouldn't have tolerated being lassoed and pulled to the cage. It would also be growling at ben and still very defensive. This looked more like a sick coyote or a severely dehydrated and starved coyote that went into self-preservation mode. But it is good, that Uncle Ben is gonna rehydrate it and release it.
Aw. She’s scared, starving, dehydrated and very weak. . She could be pregnant if it’s that time of year, but coyotes are well known to be out in the daylight. They’re definitely NOT solely nocturnal. Thank you for being a rescuer and caring about these often misunderstood animals.
Yeah, I was confused by that as well. We have some coyote in my neighborhood and i'll happen across them a decent amount when I run in the afternoon. I actually scared the sh!t out of one when I went running really early one morning and I guess it wasn't expecting people on the path yet.
@@TheMattTrakker I understand. They can be unpredictable, as most wildlife (except opossums), and when they become habituated it’s a little more difficult because people also get used to seeing them nearby as well. It not a win-win situation unless they’re left alone and hazed if too close for comfort.
Yeah, I can vouch for you when you say they are not solely nocturnal. Once upon a time one of my dogs (small, old 11 year old Boston Terrier) ran into the forest behind our house, after we found her and the other dog that ran in there, (8 year old Australian Shepard) we found out that the two were together the whole time, and the Boston Terrier was attacked by a coyote, we assume that the Australian Shepard came to the rescue because his fur was mangled but he was not injured, turns out she was bitten right on the neck, although she did survive to live another 3 years, she died this May. Rest her soul.

Back when I was in the army I was stationed in the middle of the mojave desert for a couple years, during that time I worked nights at the main entrance of the base for a few months as a special duty. A young coyote started coming by the gate every night, it'd walk right in the guard shack, sniff everyone and goes to sleep under the shelf, and it'd get up and leave before sunrise. Figured it must've lost his mom so I started bringing food and water for him and he'd come back every night like clockwork. It went on for about a month and half and Rusty stopped coming by suddenly (yes I named him), I found his body on the side of the desert road about a week later about 6 miles outside the base, looked like he was hit by a car. It's been over 15 years and I still remember him fondly.
Well, like Ben said. They are just wild dogs. I see a lot of fox in them, you know? In how they act? I dunno, maybe it is just the wild part of them, but wolves don't act like this at all.
@@williammcleroy558 the wolves who did act like this were the ones who became dogs probably. just odd ones out who slowly warm up with human communities until they become fully integrated
@@r4kung Some scientists say this. Others say wolves have always been wolves and dogs have always been dogs. Kinda lime coyotes have always been coyotes and foxes have always been foxes. I tend to believe the latter since we still have each of these creatures still. Selective breeding has made dogs, well, weirder in many ways. Haha. I read an article from a geneticist a while back about dogs being selectively bred from canines that were similar to dingos. Those dingo-like canines don't exist anymore because humans bred them out of existence into the many varieties of canines we now have. Who knows if any of this is true for sure though? We do selectively breed animals all the time though.

Are all big predators like that? Lions run away from buffalos for example. They only hunt the weak.
Most canines don't eat big animals. They only get big animals when they hunt in groups which is actually rare.
A lot of ignorant comments
He was feeling all tough while she was locked in that neck stick thing.
i heard that lion or tiger trainers use chairs to keep them back. that’s because they mistake the chair legs as horns, making them scared. and you know who has horns? (big) prey/herbivores, like elk or deer etc
after all, predators kill for food and need to reserve their energy, so if you’re not worth it they back off
prey are mostly herbivores, so they have plenty of food supplies, and they only kill if it’s to save their life

She knows that noise means dogs fall down :(
Excellent comment.
Disagree with me if you want that coyote to be shot dead.
See?

I love to see a young person like yourself rehabbing our wild life. Would love to see the vid of the Coyote release. Hope your permits and plans go smoothly. The best of luck to you and all these beautiful animals ❤️

Thank you for your compassion, and your humor. ❤
