Guys...about the music. I actually loved this particular music for this trailer because it was keenly appropriate. It's Hip Hop--but very techno-centric and eclectic! This is not "Coming To America." Wakanda is a hidden, xenophobic nation--that also happens to be the MOST TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED COUNTRY ON THE PLANET (in the Marvel universe.) They are tribal as a rule of antiquity and tradition--but they are not backwards. They are not only aware of the outside world...THEY MONITOR IT. That would include geopolitics, global economics and popular TRENDS around the world. As in all societies, popular trends are ADVANCED BY THE YOUTH. Of COURSE they would have Hip Hop. Probably better more cutting edge versions of it.

I can remember when both Iron Man and Black Panther were these B-level comics that weren't all that popular and how awesome they are in this Universe. Take a lesson Hollywood stop remaking great movies and dive in to this wealth of characters and make great movies with them.
When they were showing that reveal scene with the mercs and they had a quick blast of the horn sample, I was like "Wait . . . no?!" and then Run The Jewels' "Legend Has It" kicks in and I completely lost my shit. Haven't actually got it back yet.

Martin Freeman's character is an established Marvel character, fyi. Everett Ross is a comic character directly tied to The Black Panther comic! That's why he was introduced in Civil War in the first place. He was THE BRIDGE to the Black Panther film!

Jared Xavier Correct. His last name is Ross but he is no relation to Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. The character was introduced in the 90s by writer Christopher Priest.

Everett Ross is an established Black Panther character actually in the comics so his appearance in this film is necessary and is more than just for connecting the universe. As for Bucky, I hope he's just a post credit scene because this is a Black Panther and Wakanda movie, they don't need a white guy to help save them.
No, they dont need "a white guy," they (might) need Bucky. Big difference there buddy.

They shouldn't need either of those things. I'm a huge Bucky fan, but in Panther's first solo film, it's better to let him and his characters shine. Post-credits would be icing on the cake.
Jfreek5050 No there is no big difference, they don't need Bucky, this isn't his story and they don't need his help, he's more detriment than useful, Black Panther and Wakanda can take care of themselves, Bucky Barnes is more liability and damsel in distress than any help. Wakanda is perhaps the most powerful and advanced nation on the planet, it doesn't need Bucky Barnes.
the only presence of him that may be needed is to show he's still frozen or they save him. but wakanda doesn't need saving from bucky.
The point is that you bring up race first before "sidekick" or anything else that makes him the character that he is. Saying there is no big difference between a white guy and Bucky Barnes is like saying there is no difference between Sargent Johnson from Halo and a black guy.
It just disappoints me that so many people actually want to have racism pandered to...
One of the first major black film superheroes being saved by a white guy who's already been in three films undercuts the character's gravitas and takes away some of his shine. The same would be said if Wonder Woman was saved by Aquaman in her own solo movie. It's not about the people who always get movies as the automatic default. It's about the *other* heroes, and they can hold their own just fine, thanks.

Wow, I see even Angela Bassett is in this film. I like how Wakanda is mentioned as what was thought to be the heavily searched for Eldorado but never found because it was in Africa not the then believed South America.

I share your hopes for the villains but frankly don't expect much. We all know that Marvel deliberately doesn't focus on them and with at least Klaw, Killmonger and Man-Ape in the movie, screen time will be very limited. Hopefully at least the Dora Milaje will get to shine as much as the Amazons in Wonder Woman did.
