Wakanda has always been depicted as technologically advanced, as well as earth's most advanced civilization

You girls need to understand that the Black Panther in comics has suffered from schizophrenic writing for years. When he originally appeared in the Fantastic Four, Wakanda was incredibly advanced--Wakanda shocked Reed Richards. Later writers made Wakanda a third world country, others made it sort of futuristic but nothing compared to say what Tony Stark. In recent years Marvel has finally gotten it right--Wakanda is a mixture of traditional African culture, super science and ancient mysticism. This movie will be all of that. Wait until you see the Necropolis--the city of the dead. The one scene where BP is walking in that super colorful savanna was the other side of death and the panthers in the trees are actually the spirits of his ancestors.

Vibranium is a metal that is only found in Wakanda, it is a high tensile strength metal that can absorbs kinetic energy and sound. Adamantium is an alloy of Vibranium that is harder than Vibranium but doesn't absorb energy. Captain America's shield is a steel & vibranium alloy much like adamantium. Wolverine and X-23's claws are adamantium. Vibranium can scratch adamantium (The Panther can scratch Cap's shield) but adamantium can cut vibranium (X-23's claws could cut through the Panther's suit).

Klaw doesn't have his hand. That's a mechanical vibranium hand/weapon he created after Ultron cut his arm off

Regarding how futuristic Wakanda is, it’s taken directly from recent runs of the comics, Christopher Priest, Reginald Hudlin, TaNehisi Coates. The older Jack Kirby run explains that T’Challa has immense wealth and that Wakanda is advanced, but the look that you see in the movie isn’t just to hype the movie. It’s true to the comics. Vibranium is an element that’s in excess in Wakanda. Vibranium is extremely versatile. It emits vibrations, it’s virtually indestructible except against itself, and it can be used to create other weapons. Because of its power, it’s highly sought after and very expensive. Theres a mention of its worth by Klaw in Avengers Age of Ultron. It is why Wakanda is an isolationist nation and closed off from the world because in the wrong hands, vibranium is destructive. I’m super excited about the movie. Huge Black Panther fan.

With all the racial problems we are having globally at the moment some will either love this movie or hate it for the wrong reasons. But personally, this movie looks fucking lit!

Wakonda is always meant to be far superior to the rest of the world so in the original 60s comics it was a superior version of that time, but now they have to update it to be more superior to now which means cool glowing things, flying cars and holograms

Your friend knows nothing about Black Panther comics. Wakanda has always been futuristic, it’s the most technologically advanced nation on the planet.

This is after Civil War, Klaw has his arm in this because Michael B Jordan's character probably made him the arm, much like the one he has in the comics. You can assume this takes place during the events of Thor Ragnarok.

Its not a Black thing, its a comic thing.

I think it actually takes place after Civil War, and Ultron. It doesn't look like he got a arm in the first scene where Klaus is rescued.

first thing first. I'm Mexican and not tripping about if its a black all star cast. I'm happy about that. the afro future look is amazing. the whole trailer was so sick! even the music with " the revolution will not be televised" .....sick! this movie is going to be amazing.

Vibranium is in wakanda it landed there in the prehistoric era and it effects the heart shaped herb 🌿 that gives the panther his powers on par with Captain America. Adamantium was discovered by trying to create vibranium and caps shield is true adamantium wolverines claws can cut through anything except that

I'm a white dude and don't see the majority black cast as any sort of barrier or bad thing. None of my white friends feel that way, either, and most of my friends are into comic book movies. I shared the trailer on my Facebook page, and the only people who commented on it were white conservatives like me who excitedly discussed with me what was actually going on in the trailer. None of my liberal friends said anything or even clicked one of the reactions. I'm excited about this movie, really excited, especially because my mom, who is in her 70s, wants to see this. She owns hundreds of Fantastic Four comics including Black Panther's first appearance, and she's always liked him. Counter to that, as I look over the thumbnails of the recommended videos, I see a mix of people doing reactions to the same trailer and, there at the bottom, is a video for how the movie is dangerous and how black people are letting white people dictate their heroes. That video is from "Professor BlackTruth," someone who I'm not familiar with and won't be clicking on their channel.
