They are timeless! I never heard of The Moody Blues, that is not until I saw a bunch of their LP’s for sale at a flea market! I just thought the covers were interesting and unusual. Yes I bought all I could find! When I played them… I was amazed!! And WHAT A FIND!!! I’ve been a fan ever since! ❤️
Absolutely stupendous! I love every second of this video. Moody Blues music is timeless! I especially LOVE “Don’t you feel small”, I can’t believe this song can be done live with Justin /John’s lovely harmony and Ray’s mystical raspy whispers and his beautiful flute! Perfection!
I love how this is live music with one exception rather that a studio overdub of a live video. How many "musicians" today can perform live and still sound awesome....
This music isn't for everyone, hence the small turnout. The Moodys are for those of us who like to think. Don't mean to sound snobbish. It's true though. Criminally underrated band.
@@pauldevito7476 ... You're right, Paul. The Moodies created a very special mysteriously celestial niech and category that is totally their own. Some think it's sappy, but to me it's deeply spiritual
I can't believe Ray Thomas didn't sing the album lyrics of "I've seen polar bears and seals, I've seen giant Antarctic eels..." I guess TV audiences weren't ready for the truth in 1970. Heck, most people aren't ready now and we're a couple weeks away from 2023!! Still, so beautiful to see one of my favorite bands from when I was 11! 💙💙💙💙💙 RIP Ray and Graeme 🙏🙏
@JeanneW777 Thank you for your comments. Justin's vocals on both songs are live and Ray and Mikes vocals on their songs are also live 'Don't you feel small' is a studio version that sounds a lot different to the official album release.the original videos are in colour and sound is mono. I wanted to create the illusion of stereo sound so have a listen on headphones.Sepia I always associate with nostalgia but it also has a timeless quality about it so that's why I called it an experiment, don't know if works though thanks again for your encouragement.
Wow never seen this before, looks like a european peformance soo glad its survived,to perform NIWS,live awesome the melatron was superb, love this song and procol harums WSOP,both from 1967 ,and both on Deram !!
"THANKYOU" SOO VERRY MUCH,FOR "ALL THE BEAUTIFUL SONGS& VIDEO 'S",REALLY ENJOY THEM"!!!.."MOODY BLUE'S FOREVER "..."LOVE THE HISTORY OF THE MOODY BLUES"!!!.😉😘😗😙😍❤💓💕💖💗💙💙💙💙💙💚💚💚💛💛💜💝💞💟
@@gaebren9021 ... Take a look at the 1st Star Wars movie and you will see stunning resemblances between the young Mark Hamill and young Justin. They both look stunningly similar in appearance.
Can’t figure out why they’re all suited up at this stage ( on the first couple of songs). I’ve seen earlier pics of these guys in psych outfits. Must have been a requirement of the TV studio I guess. Fantastic footage.
After rediscovering the Moodies after their 200? Royal Albert Hall fully orchestrated appearance on PBS, I gobbled up almost all their albums. But THESE videos are the kind of stuff I’d never seen since, in the 60s and 70s, the Moodies were just occasional background music in my youth. So glad I stumbled on this…and thank you!
This is awesome. Thanks for uploading. Best video of Ray and Mike I've ever seen. Incredible video of Justin singing "Question". I'm trying to figure out if the guys are lip synching or truly playing live. The music and vocals sound identical to the recordings to me so I'm guessing they are lip synching to the recordings, but the synching of the vocals and music to their faces is incredibly spot on. It's hard to believe they can get their voicing of the words so perfectly in synch with a recording. Well, for sure I don't see any bongo drums being played on stage during "Don't You feel Small" - so where is that bongo drum sound we hear coming from? Oh who cares, anyway? This whole video is fantastic to watch!
The Captain Scott section is wrong! The butterfly secton is reused "I've seen butterflies galore I've seen people big and small I've still not found what I'm looking for" It should be "I've seen polar bears and seals I've seen giant Antarctic eels I've still not found what I'm looking for"
Got turned on to the Moodies in 1969 and have never stopped listening for 53 years. Now with you tube that love of their music will continue forever.
I’m still loving this video, it’s fun to pretend I’m 21 again in 1970 when I watch this!👍♥️🌹

What i would give to hear all of those old classic LP for the first time again! Enjoy !!
This is a wonderful gift. It is a warm reminder of what a wonderful gift the Moodies were to the music loving world. Thank you!!
My summer of 2023 will be the summer of the Moody Blues.
This just made made my morning....thank you deeply
Very cool , thank you for sharing. Their all so handsome and talented. Love the Moody Blues forever.💖🌻💃
Forever!

My God, this makes me feel like the kid listening to the Core 7 for the first time 30+ years ago. I’m getting all verklempt.
Thank You! It just brings back those times so clearly. Thank You again.
First time I seen Mike on guitar they never stop to amaze me
... yes, Glenda. Justin has mentioned before that Mike was also an excellent guitar player.
What "Moody Jill" said below!!!! GREAT JOB pointreven. This is how I want to ALWAYS remember this best band EVER!!
This is great. Don't understand just 13,000 views since 2017 and only 235 likes.

Just so good. Masters at their craft.

@@pointreven Really Great work on this one. Much Appreciated.
Oh my...at minute 15:18, Justin looks right at the camera. It kind of jolted me, in a good way, of course. LOL
... i completely understand you....here a 65 yr old grandma fan...:-)
Yeah, his face is very unique. I would like to draw it. There is something interesting about it. I think it is his eyes.
I am totally hypnotized when I look at those eyes, and this song

so excellent !!! thanks !!!! :D

JeanneW777 they are mimicking the music but singing live.
This one is "lyp synch"because there were prob with sounds system only thé mics were openéd.Mike is on a hammond c3 not à melltoron...
I didn't know that Mike Pinder also played the guitar in addition to the mellotron.
Yep! All of The Moodies were multi-instrumentalists. Yet another reason they were so good.
I always wanted the sort of love Justin Hayward sang about. Dammit Hayward, you set the bar too high ;-D
I believe he is singing about Christ and Heaven.
very cool!
Justin is pitch perfect
The Shure microphone is so taken for granted nowadays.
Love the sepia
Glenvis ......Hello......
Sharon Allison hello...this is pure magic!
If they won't do any more sets as the Moody Blues , Why not do some with Mike Pinder ?
