I had the privilege of seeing the Moody's in 1969 in San Diego at a local university. Everyone sat on the floor. People everywhere. At the first luscious sound of the Mello, the crowd as a whole became one. For the next few hours we were all transported to a better world. United in the energy of youth that we could make the world a better place. The Moody Blues are the soundtrack of my life. What a privilege. Thank You.....

Lucky you, must have been spectacular listening to the Moody Blues. I had no clue they were singing in the U.S., we didn’t have the media in those days, like today. Too bad for me! 👍😊🎼🎵🎶🦋

They're in the Hall of Fame now, the Moodies got there in 2018 and they deserve it more than most

Not inducted them to the hall of fame long time ago is a musical crime. Ray Thomas never saw this happening. Same thing happened to YES Band, and Chris squire didn’t live to see the band getting the recognition they too deserved long long ago.SO SAD. ENGLISH MUSICIAN ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD. no doubt.

Luis youre absolutely right, Moodies should have got the award much sooner and Ray could have been there to receive the honours...he did know of it just before he died that same year...he got his invitation much too late. 😢

They were a great band - the joy inspired by their music is in no way enhanced by being honored by some stupid institution and any idea that bands inducted before them are somehow “better” or “more significant” is silly.

Every member of this band is a phenom. Four great singer-songwriters: a mellotron masteryshaman, a melodic bass player--his high falsettos are the most SUBTLY-distinctive sound of the MB'S, much the way Randy Meisner's were to the Eagles, also a 4-singer-songwriter group--a flute player time traveller from King Arthur's Round Table, a balanced mad man-poet on drums, and the thunderdome of talent that is Justin Hayward, who never gets a well-deserved shout out for his guitar work at every guitarist G.O.A.T. discussion. Listen to his right hand pickwork on "You and Me" on the "Seventh Sojourn" album. Real Glen Campbell sh*t. No hot dog fingers there. Put it all together....I am in awe of how rich and full "Nights in White Satin" sounds here, live. This evening performance is the stuff of legend. Much admiration for the camera and sound crew. Things like this, lightning in a bottle, help build a case for carrying on. Thanks to you all with much love, here and above.

Wow...I love what you said here. I've never heard it expressed better. When i used to hear their music as a child in the 70s, in my mind they were magical beings, magicians creating other-worldly, ethereal, deeply moving, beautiful and complex music. When I saw them in concert for the first time in 1981, I admired them even more because I saw that they were mortal and yet able to tap into something so powerful that it profoundly touched the lives of millions of people. Moody Blues forever!

Imho they have many soft melodic songs. However hidden in those songs are times that give goose bumps or send my soul soaring. Maybe that is why they never got into Rocks Hall o Fame. Too melodic. They did make some of the most beautiful music.

All the world surrounds me and my feet are on the ground
    I'm a very lonely man
    Doing what I can
All the world astounds me and I think I understand
That we're going to keep growing
    Wait and see
When all the stars are falling down
Into the sea and on the ground
And angry voices carry on the wind
A beam of light will fill your head
And you'll remember what's been said
By all the good men this world's ever known
Another man is what you'll see
Who looks like you and looks like me
And yet, somehow he will not feel the same
His life caught up in misery
He doesn't think like you and me
'Cause he can't see what you and I can see
When all the stars are falling down
Into the sea and on the ground

    Nights in white satin
    Never reaching the end
    Letters I've written
    Never meaning to send
    Beauty I'd always missed
    With these eyes before
    Just what the truth is
    I can't say anymore
    'Cause I love you
    Yes, I love you
    Oh, how I love you
    Gazing at people
    Some hand in hand
    Just what I'm going through
    They can't understand
    Some try to tell me
    Thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end
    And I love you
    Yes, I love you
