- Playing the ww2 Battle of Britain flight simulator IL-2 Cliffs of Dover online on the ATAG server. RAF strike at frontline Jerry air defenses to clear a path for further raids. Flying a Spitfire 1a along side Vranac & Fenris of 64 Squadron flying Blenheims and many other pilots on the server.
My PC specs: Windows 7 64; CPU i7-3820 3.60GHz; 16GB RAM, nvidia 680 graphics card; and a solid state drive (SSD).

Yeah, the TF patch is absolutely fantastic, really enjoying playing CLoD even more now! The amount of work the chaps have done is incredible. With the joystick, I recently got a thrustmaster warthog, bit expensive but I kept burning through my cheaper sticks so bought something to hopefully last many years.Good luck with the new build mate, see you online.

Hi, thanks for all the comments chaps, I'm enjoying making the videos and hope to record more - I'm getting a larger hard drive for recording. Currently we are doing a massive multi-squad online war every weekend, I've missed a couple because RL but finally flew my 1st last week and it's great. I can't put the video up yet as it's an online war and it might give the otherside intel about the location of our factories, airfields, shipping and tactics!
thanks Longbowdt, the online server we are playing on is run by a group known as ATAG. I'm not a member of ATAG, just playing on their server in this movie. There are no AI fighters on the server, all the fighters including 109s you see are flown by real people. However, if a player abandons his plane in the air, when it crashes it will be reported as AI rather than list the pilots name. In fact, there are no AI at all in this video, all planes including the bombers are piloted by people.
Thanks, yep the video is recorded using fraps so what you see is what I see when playing the game. In these videos I use a game mod called sweetfx to improve the ingame colour balance and some mods for clouds and smoke effects. However, this week the Team Fusion community patch has been released on ATAG and I am using that now, hopefully I will post some new videos because the new patch is seriously bloody fantastic!
I'm not a member of Team Fusion (TF) but as I understand it the TF patch is a community patch akin to those developed for 1946 e.g. HSFX/Ultra patch, and is not available on steam. It has been put together by player modders from across the community - they post updates on the ATAG forums and so for proper info from members of TF I'd go to the ATAG website, see link in the video info box. Thanks Jose. I've not played WarBirds but as far as I understand yes, Cliffs of Dover (CLoD) will be quite complex in comparison. If you have played IL-2 1946, CLoD is more realistic. Don't let that put you off as you'll soon get used to it and it is great fun, especially online. It is very cheap now and available on Steam - you do need a pretty good PC to run the game though and you may want to check out the Cliffs of Dover forums at 1c website to make sure you can run it.

I agree with you 100%. Aside from +/-'s to the aircraft themselves, the Bf109 pilots consistently made the same mistake over and over - pulling up straight vertical. It's way too predictable, way too easy to line up shots and is way too advantageous to the Bf109 undermining its own efforts to escape the fight or position itself on the offensive.

The graphics look outstanding Bounder. Does it look that good when you're flying the sorte? I've seen a few vids by guys with 680's but yours looks amazing!

I'd have to disagree that the spit is easier than the 109, they are flown with different fighting styles & when flown properly the 109 is virtually untouchable, particularly at higher altitudes. As you say when people don't fly their aircraft well / to its advantages it makes things easier. In this video I have the advantage of attacking slow & low distracted enemies with a number of kills where they don't see me coming, many do the same in 109s to spits and hurricanes.

Yeah Bounder you are right about that patch! The ATAG/TF Guys really hit a home run. I too have Sweet FX running but my GPU doesn't compare to yours which is obviouly able to run max settings and still smooth and good FR. Mine will lag if I try to run it looking that good, but next month a new build and a GTX 670 might help that. ;-) Altitude (and Frame rate ;-)) are life. What stick are you flying with?
amazing qualit then , i got a gtx580 , i7 2600 and 8g ram , i cant get near this beautifull . hopefully the game will be fixed and smooth with full servers , . . . one day

hello no64bounder , it looks realy nice and playable , what videoard and processor do you got ? i thought i had some serious gear but i wont get this . is this in fraps recorded ?
i've been playing CoD with the new TF4 patch and i just feel like the spits are so easy compared to the 109's. with the rare exception of when someone uses a 109 properly as an energy fighter, a spit just wrecks the 109's. it's almost too easy to get ace in one flight

Hey, how do I stop myself from rolling to the right? you fly seemlessly but when i play i just roll over to the right and cant control my aircraft. any forums or tips you can give me?
It's just a case of counter-acting the roll with your joystick. After a bit of practice it becomes easier. There was no aileron trim on the Spit or Hurricane during this period so you cannot fully trim to prevent the roll. I do regularly trim the rudder and elevator and only need to apply the stick to counter-act roll.
what you mean the ram ? is 8g a bit low you think ?
My joystick doesnt work with this game. But it does with other. Help me please.

Hi Federico, I did use sweetFx (CeeJay.dk) when I was playing Cliffs and it works great with the vanilla version of the game (which is what most of my videos are). I'm not sure if sweetFx works alongside the current Team Fusion patch (if you have it), so you could try asking on the ATAG forums if that is the case. Hope that helps, Bounder.

No64Bounder SweetFX does work with the TF patches. I'm using those together. I'm running it at 1440p, and it looks great.
