I have been having immense fun and a pretty intense time flying the Stuka lately! - Once I found out how not to overheat the engine, it actually flies pretty well. Ok, it is a big, lumbering crate, but also very docile and well-behaved. Take-off and landings are a breeze. I find the dive-bombing automation exceptionally well-modelled and have really had some of my most exciting flight-simming moments ever while hurtling Earthwards in this monster of a plane!
Wikipedia: "The B-1 was also fitted with "Jericho trumpets", essentially propeller-driven sirens with a diameter of 0.7 m (2.3 ft)[39] mounted on the wing's leading edge directly forward of the landing gear, or on the front edge of the fixed main gear fairing. This was used to weaken enemy morale and enhance the intimidation of dive-bombing. After the enemy became used to it, however, they were withdrawn. The devices caused a loss of some 20-25 km/h (10-20 mph) through drag.
Yes, I know, I was talking about the game as well. I don't demand perfection, and I think it is sad to miss the tremendous gameplay in CoD because it has some bugs. It has quite a lot actually, but it is mainly incredibly atmospheric and takes combat flight simming to a new level.
I think I read somewhere that by the Battle of Britain most of the stuka sirens had been removed to reduce drag. Could be why they're not present in this game.
Found this today and already in love with you videos...Just b/c of this I'm probably getting this game:D I love 1946, but I need an upgrade. Thanks! Subbed.
The "Il-2 Sturmovik" bit in the name is just a reminder of the legacy sim this one was based on (except it was't really. It is only made by the same company). Cliffs of Dover only covers the BoB. The sequel will be about the Battle of Moscow, so with Sturmoviks and Bf-109F's.
Don't exactly know what you mean, but the most cool-looking that turned out to not really make sense was perhaps the Henschel Hs 129 B-3 with a huge chin-mounted cannon that made the plane practically unflyable...
Very possible, we do that a lot on the online servers, and yes, it is great fun! And actually human gunners are quite useful because a lot of opponents just saddle on the six o'clock and then you can give them a good burst.
Well, I guess you will just have to accept something les than perfecktion, because I'm not going to start bothering with that... - I make these vids for fun, and that will include an error here and there... :)
Hope you will enjoy it! - It has quite a steep learning curve and way too little useful documentation, but you can find a lot of good stuff on web sites and in youtube vids... Check out my tutorials for the Spit and Bf-109, and hey, spread the word if you like them!
@Leeridiot Mission designers can choose to start taxiing from somewhere or starting from the runway. To save time in these movies I have mostly chosen to start from the runway. This will change now that I do my movies online...
It is an independent game. You can buy it via Steam. You need to apply the Team Fusion patch afterwards to have it working really well. More info at the abovementioned forums...
Soren, your in game graphics seem to have much higher contrast than mine and look a lot better as a result. Is this due to an adaption you made to the game?
This is beautiful. Is it be possible to have a human player in the gunner position (and chatting via the radio) ? He wouldn't do much, but it would be fun!
how is it that you put afterburners on? i cant find it in the controls but when i need to catch up with my group i put autopilot on and it uses afterburner to catchup witht hem but i want to do it by myself.
I love to watch clips of people playing this graphically amazing game, but I refuse to buy it myself until I know for sure all the kinks have been worked out. I feel as though I may crack before that happens though...
i like this kind of realism... you should have added an emergency brake after the landing due to your broken wheel brakes. You know... the hard turn and one wing tips the ground.
Well, you need the sim, Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover. And a good computer. Mine has these specs: Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB, Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, SSD.
Yes indeed it is: "Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of dover". Lots of people fly it online every day, see the Air Tactical Assault Group forums (google it) and check out my other movies, many of them are much more recent than my Stuka movie.
@wwwDOTdalsgaardDOTeu Thank you for your answers! I understand the timefactor.... but its nice to know that there are other ways possible! The good thing is, im in NZ for a year now.... next week i come back and when i'll install COD lots of bugs got fixed already! The new sounds are awesome btw. or what do you reckon? They are directly made up by 1C, not modded, right? Cheers and Gute Jagd ;)
Hi, I´ve been fighting to get CoD to run in my comp and I almost got it, DL the patches from TF, but have two problems: Can´t get online and the game tends to freeze. My questions to you are: What internet connection do you use, and what video card do you have? I have Nvidia GeForce GT 635 1 GB DDR3 but might be not enough. What do you think?
Check your graphics driver settings. Atleast for nVidia you can tune the color settings. Maybe your monitor is of low contrast but you have 2D video contrast tuned up from driver settings. The might also be separate color settings for both 3D and 2D graphics. I'm just guessing here but I hope this helps :)
yep I looked you had it set far to fine you are lucky it was a short run or you would have run out of fuel before the mission was over I fly IRL you never want to be at full throttle all the time.
RUclips user "askepticalman" had the same remark to my "Regia Aeronautica bombs Hawkinge"-video 11 months ago... Are you the same person, or do all my landings make people think about the movie?.. :-)
In the newest version of Cliffs of Dover the sirens are indeed there and they're awesome!

Utterly brilliant and with a nice helping of humor too

I like ur talks with ur bordfunker Herr Leutnant !! Fine and funny !
Waiting for new videos Soren!!! Cheers!
Another great video well done,
I'm still waiting for the SLI fix b4 I start to play !
Sweet, okay! I've decided to get DCS A-10C first, then this for my birthday. Thanks for replying!
Brilliant, love the pilot chit chat during the mission, very amusing, and congrats for sinking the freighter LOL!
Found this today and already in love with you videos...Just b/c of this I'm probably getting this game:D I love 1946, but I need an upgrade. Thanks! Subbed.

yes it was incredibly funny the way you put it in the video
Hehe your landing reminds me of the Battle of Britain movie.
"Bumps a Daisy.....it's enough to make you weep
Thanks! Better leave some of my clips for another day, though. They don't come out very often! :-)
Fantastic graphics!!! Can you tell me please what is needed to have such a good graphics!??? Thankyou!
ah, good to know. I'm glad the few bugs do not take away too much.

Yes, they've been partially replaced and will probably be completely revamped by the Team Fusion modding group.
i love ur comments(/conversations?) ^^
very entertaining^^
Well, I guess you will just have to accept something les than perfecktion, because I'm not going to start bothering with that... - I make these vids for fun, and that will include an error here and there... :)
Cheeky rear gunners are the best cure for shell shock.

You're in luck since a beta patch just came out today, so CoD runs better than ever, very smooth. Thanks for your comments, spread the word!
Have the external sounds been replaced?Anyways awesome vid as usual.Once I get my TIR and pedals again I will try CLOD again.

Max. 600 kmph according to a stencil on the dashboard. It has huge divebrakes to go slow.
Where are the Stuka-Siren's?
I wish I could help you with finding the afterburners, but I don't know either!
Soren, your in game graphics seem to have much higher contrast than mine and look a lot better as a result. Is this due to an adaption you made to the game?
Yes, I hope to make that at some point.... I'll ned to find someone to fly with who knows how to follow cues, though... :-)
0:55 rear gunner: Schnell schell! Pilot: You in the back, just shut up will you! XD
This is beautiful. Is it be possible to have a human player in the gunner position (and chatting via the radio) ? He wouldn't do much, but it would be fun!
you make it look so easy
That would indeed have been very cool...
how is it that you put afterburners on? i cant find it in the controls but when i need to catch up with my group i put autopilot on and it uses afterburner to catchup witht hem but i want to do it by myself.
is there a way of taxiing possible in Cod? I dont like that unrealistic "Ready-To-Go-On-Runway"-Thing. Is there sth like that? Or just in MP?
No, I haven't made any changes to either the sim nor my graphics card...
Glad u liked it! Check out my other vids (even tho I don't fly the Ju-87) and spread the word! :-)

@KillaJoe69 they are:
Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
SSD
glad you like it, check out my newer movies too!
man, a stuka without the siren is no stuka!
So you fly through the clouds and condensation appears on the windows?
I can't really say I'm not impressed...
Ah! Got you now. Yes, fun little Easter egg by the developers... :-)

sweet vid soren what are your PC specs
Ah, interesting, I didn't know that. I'm sure the development team will agree that that's why they didn't include it... :-)
that face was awesome
Thank you!

I think you had the prop pitch set wrong
Awsome vid dude!!! great comments too lol
What game is this? please let me know.
Could well be, I wasn't too good with that when I did the vid, and I remember the plane being rather sluggish.

Fresh air, and hamburgers at the drive-in ;D
Sim was patched and has Jericho trumpets now.
They didn't include the siren. They should have!
Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover
Ha ha I will. Just indulging myself on a wet uk bank holiday. But please keep these videos coming :-)
@Leeridiot Yes, 1C sounds, I don't use any mods.

Hehe, good question... :-)
I regret to inform you that there is indeed a Hitler smiley face on your window.
Huh? No jericho trumpets? Son, I am dissapoint.
(other than that - great vid)
@MrAnton275 "Highest allowed speed 600 kmph"
yep I looked you had it set far to fine you are lucky it was a short run or you would have run out of fuel before the mission was over I fly IRL you never want to be at full throttle all the time.
Not sure if serious...
Could you try making a multiplayer video? It could be more exciting...
