I personally think its the classical nature of the song along with Floras voice ,it just seems to capture them...but they love it, I also play some ELO like telephone line and when I was a boy....they enjoy it all....

Rich, it just so happens I'm comming up on my 5th year into my Elementary Education degree! I like this version too! Genesis's original version kicks, but so does this one too!

I'm an old Genesis fan (almost 60 years old), and an old piano player. I know how difficult this song is to play, yet you make it look so easy, I almost fell in love with you ....! :-)
Same for me, I'm 58. I remember hearing this in '73 and it has been my favourite 'music' by Genesis since (Carpet Crawlers is my favourite song). Never thought I would like anyone else playing this but Flora is amazing. She has the sensitivity of Banks himself.
Not so difficult my friend. A difficult piece is Liszt's Campanella or Chopin Fantasie.

Spot on, that. I'm not a huge fan of AW, as it goes (apart from a couple of songs) but I'm sure Flora will find her own voice as she goes on. Whatever, it's SO nice to hear that early 70s Genesis vibe being channelled so beautifully by someone who was only a twinkle in her father's eye back then. Well done that girl!

always loved the piano intro on this...good job. always said nobody could better tony banks when it comes chords. its more than just a break between time sig's, tony could come up with these wonderful bridges.

I'm 62, huge fan of Genesis and other progressive rock bands of the 70s, and this is my favorite Genesis tune. Well, I absolutely love this version of yours. You nailed it. I would like to know what does Tony Banks think about what you've done with this masterpiece.
This is one of the very few songs that I can listen over and over again and I still feel the same than in 1976 (my first listening).

Perhaps the only thing in the song cover that does not fit is Amy Winehouse's vocal style, which, more than an aggiornamento of the song, seems a Frankenstein. Sorry for the criticism.

My first LP from the great Genesis, 1975. This entire album is living proof of the musical talent of this fantastic band. It's been 48 years since I fell in love with this haunting song. She still gives me the creeps. Thanks Flora. You hit the target. Congratulations. Directly from Brazil. 👋🏻 🇧🇷✌🏻

I've always felt that FIRTH of FIFTH was the most BEAUTIFUL PIANO composition TONY BANKS ever did with Genesis. You perform it with LOVE and PASSION, FAITHFULLY executing the song with sensitivity and a genuine devotion to the spirit of Genesis. I THANK YOU from the bottom of my Genesis-loving HEART.

On sent que vous vivez ce morceau avec émotion et sensibilité. Quant à votre voix.... si singulière, si chaude et puissante n'est pas sans me rappeler une très grande artiste qui nous a malheureusement quittés trop tôt, je veux parler de Amy Winhouse. Wow, did NOT expect such a friendly comment section. In my experience there are always some hardcore Genesis fans giving a very hard time to anyone who is not Peter Gabriel (even if it is a certain Phil Collins).

Her playing is impeccable for sure. I do have a minor criticism about her mangling of the English language. I think this would have really been awesome if she just sang it in her native tongue.

This is such an incredibly beautiful piece that you only need to perform it correctly to be amazed. I think that Flora played beautifully and intelligently selected the vocals for this music. Great performance, every time I listen to it I experience deep emotions.
