    Thanks ever so much for this “Geordie” Picked my green 400x up 4 days ago. It was absolutely superb to ride . . . . . while it lasted - all of 20 minutes ! Didn’t even get out of the town where the dealer is and the engine management light came on ! Took it straight back to the dealer. Switched off and on again and it wouldn’t start, dead as a Do Do 😱 It’s now on a bench in the workshop whilst the mechanics try to work out what’s wrong. Just my luck in life ! Grrrr 😡 However, the dealer has been absolutely superb and loaned me a demo 400x until they figure it out. Fingers crossed 🤞

    Been watching dozens of reviews, obviously most from India but a few coming through now from the UK and yours is the best yet so thanks.

    Good to see the footage of the Quayside. I stayed in Newcastle from 90 to 95 and had a great time there. Bike review good too 👍

    Nice one. Thanks. That bike looks genuinely exciting. Now, hopefully, it'll prove itself reliable. Triumph is onto an absolute winner. Good on them

      They just want a slice of the Royal Enfield 350 pie market for themselves. Not denying this bike is ok for what it is, but if RE's 350s hadn't have taken off as they have, do you really think Triumph would have bothered?
      No, I don't either.

    Nice review.
    My son has just purchased the Honda 500x, which i think is a great bike.
    But i am going to wait for one of these on the second-hand market.
    All the best, David ✌️

    Great review, I’ll see one in the flesh at the bike show in London. For the money it’s great for the build and finish. 👍

      @@Geordiebiketester the Triumph accessories I like are the small windscreen, center tank pad, luggage rack, and the high mud guard.
      Not sure if upgraded seat is worth the expense, but it does look sharp.
      I want both the upper and lower engine bars. Still not sure if the upper one comes with the bike. The reviews from India say that it does. I still can’t get a straight answer on that.
      I also like the bullet style turn lights. Again not sure it’s worth the add on price.
      Luggage has been a big thought and I believe the Mosko Moto Reckless 80 will solve all my needs with a Triumph specific Cruz Tools kit in the Fatty Tool Roll.
      For Navigation I will be using the REVER App with my IPhone on a Quad lock mount.

      Wrong guy for that I hate off reading but my research had me looking it to lots of India test ride reports and they where smashing off road. Looks like your right it can handle it.

      watch RevZilla's video where they took it to the " highest motorable road in the world" or their daily rider one - both show the bike easily handling deep mud & fast rivers etc on the first one.

    Just picked mine up last week and loving it. However, i have also had that darn engine immobilizer light remain on during riding from time to time. Seems to happen whenever i start the bike up and roll off immediately without letting it warm up a bit (for just a minute or so). If i pull over and restart the bike it turns off. Very odd. Anyone else seen this?

    Good material, thanks a lot. Very nice seat bag you got for the bike. I guess it will hold a helmet in it. I really don't like any top box attached to the bike. Can you send a link for the seller of this bag and average cost? Thanks a lot.

    • @Geordiebiketester
      @Geordiebiketester  7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s GIVI bag sadly they don’t make it anymore. Had it for years don’t think a helmet fits in but it carries all my camera gear and seems to fit every bike I borrow.

    Good job any feeling for how good the range might be or the mpg on a mixed commute?

    • @Geordiebiketester
      @Geordiebiketester  7 месяцев назад

      Dave the owner got 80mpg on the scrambler he also got the same on Speed which is still showing on the dash. When borrowed the bike it went down to 67 but lots of stopping for filming. Would have to ride it more to give you a proper answer.

    At 65 years old, I'm going to need either steps or yoga lessons to get my leg over it.

    This bike is probably ok for what it is but if anyone thinks this is a Triumph are kidding themselves. Spoiler alert Just because it's got a Triumph badge on the side it doesn't make it a Triumph

    • @longjonwhite

      Yeah, made in India…Not a proper Thai Triumph.

    • @canadianvideos6094
      @canadianvideos6094 6 месяцев назад +4

      LOL, made in India, not Thailand. India makes way more bikes than Thailand. Fully designed by Triumph and built to their specs. I think the original comment is a little out of touch with modern global manufacturing. I used to hear people complain about BMW’s that are built in the US, not a real German car. These manufacturers tool the assembly lines and every part to their exact specifications. Contract manufacturers adhere strictly to the terms of their agreement and build exactly what is asked of them, otherwise they don’t get paid and lose the contract. This type of relationship holds the contract manufacturer accountable for quality, far better than what most unions are capable of doing. Anyway, there are many reviewers that disagree with that comment, this is a beautiful little bike that lives up to the brand’s reputation.

    Does it reset Traction Control when you switch the machine off? Like the bike (and your review) but it looks like 1980’s Seiko interface.
