Any update as far as durometer for the mounts? Looking to put something similar on my car but want to know if 60A is fine or if i should go up to 70-85A
best shifter upgrade to the 90s chassis , smooth butter operation , well built ,...only complain is the screw pin holding it in , lock tight it or upgrade the screw and youll be straight ....great vid op
Can’t wait to se how it does at the track. I’ve got one of their obd1 Swap harnesses but haven’t installed it yet. Quality looks pretty good for the price.
LATommy had the IRP version on his Green EK a few years back. You are correct he mention how it was German company for BMW shifters but he tried out the B series setup
Like the sticks on high-end Golf builds, nice. I can dig it, never seen this kind of design used on Hondas. Not a fan of the button on top for the lockout though tbf.
@@GarageBuiltHondas True. It does have a decent amount of travel to unlock tbf, plus if it's proper heavily sprung in case of lead hand? I don't see why it should be an issue. I just have apprehension due to how i hold when shifting in a car, flat handed from being a biker. =]
On the part where you said you had to notch the center console, you can probably get away with installing some kind of weatherstripping to cover it thus making it look stock still with the leather boot on top.

Hoping I could get a reply from you, but reading these comments, does the shifter actually come out of gear? I just bought a bull boost similar shifter, worried I’m wasting money on it if it does pop out. I don’t want to upgrade my mounts as it is a daily driver and don’t want all the vibrations. Currently running a circuit x ktuned and would want info before I get rid of my current shifter
Awesome man. I've had this thing in my eBay watchlist since they first popped up since I want the IRP shifter so bad. Definitely keep us updated as mine would be for my Street Car. Only thing holding me back is waiting to order the upgraded engine mounts.
@@GarageBuiltHondas yea I'm on the fence about which ones to get. I wanna stick with Hasport but they only have 70A and huge jump to the next one. Innovative has 75A but I read mixed reviews on those mounts. Build is a 400whp Street car so not sure if I want to go Track Bushings
@@GarageBuiltHondas lol honestly that's kinda what I was thinking anyway. My car isn't exactly smooth and quiet. Good to know man. Might step up to the 88A Hasport. Probably be a couple of months before I go that route so I will probably check back in to see how its holding up
Do you think that it would be possible to retain the entire linkage to make the assembly more solid? I accidentally ordered a solid bushing as well and would like to use it.
Too bad that you don't have an option to delete the button in the center. I have a d series crx and I don't need the lock out function. I'm considering getting this shifter! Better price point over the higher end companies and does the job just as good! I can't wait to see the next review video!
@@GarageBuiltHondas Love to see it in action and a long-term review! it reminds me of the CAE shifter! A friend of mine has one in his MK2 Golf GTI! He says that it's very precise!
This design is really flawed for 90’s Hondas with solid shift linkages. The stabilizer arm linkage maintains distance between the drivetrain and shifter, making it more like a RWD gearbox linkage. A shifter design that omits that linkage, and then requires stupid crazy stiff engine mounts to keep the car in gear, is just outright poor design. Some fresh bushings and maybe a Tyrannosaur Tightener in place of the shift linkage front knuckle and bitch pin is a much better solution for improved shifting feel.
Maybe you're right, but these feel fantastic for me. And that's on this car and the B EG coupe. ruclips.net/video/vAnwg6aApPc/видео.htmlsi=HBzxhSzDcfb-c9pJ

Thanks for that!
Need A Dyno Designs Tightener
Any update as far as durometer for the mounts? Looking to put something similar on my car but want to know if 60A is fine or if i should go up to 70-85A
It's recommended at least a 75a or stiffer to avoid falling out of gear from engine movement

I used loctite as well. Don't want it backing out.
So sweet I still watch these even though I don’t have my crx anymore :( but maybe one day soon I’ll have another one so much fun
Thanks for still taking a look Christian. I'm sure when the time is right you'll find something good for your lifestyle
NO WAY! That looks like it came straight outta 1999 or 2000!
I've been looking at these they look solid. Your definitely a good person to review it. Gonna beat it up and test it for real.

This is dope! I would buy this now if I had actually put some miles on my current shifter. Heck, the current shifter is still in the box! Lol.
Looks good Jon definitely nice upgrade for roon49
Those bolts are a lifesaver. Everytime someone deletes their ac I take the bolts for that exact reason 🤣
Lol
That shifter looks rad man. Super short throws too, nice!
Curious to see how it feels at full throttle and speed. 🤔

I use the IRP veesion and the 1320 version. I can tell a huge different between the 2.
Make sure you have stronger that stock mounts! 85a or strong.
IRP was probably the original company to design it?
@@GarageBuiltHondas it is, and like 3 times the price. Thats why for rhe backup car i tried the 1320.
From what I read it was designed for the E30 and turned out it would also work for Hondas

I rest my hand on top of my shifter when just daily driving, having a button there would bug me.
I remember the debate about resting your hand on the shifter. Kinda funny how everyone thought it was going to ruin the transmission prematurely. Lol

Curious about this shifter. How it works, the advantages and disadvantages over a regular shifter.
The shifter eliminates one of the shifter linkages, and creates super precise notchy short shifting. It is the best honda shifter on the market

Zero issues with decently solid mounts. I'm unsure about the Bullboost one though.
@@GarageBuiltHondas solid shifter mounts or solid engine mounts? Bc I want to avoid getting solid engine mounts

crazy, i was just looking at buying this...!
i have an ef, is there anyway to put the center console back on? or is it left like that
I don't think it'll fit.
can i ask if i use the oem engine mouting can use this shifter or must need use hard sport mouting ?
It's suggested to use aftermarket mounts. It may slip out of gear with rubber mounts.
Nice shifter.
Been a while, if you still have this car but hows the shifter
Great video great content
Appreciate it
Hey jon, which video do you show how to replace the toe link bushings I'm having trouble finding it again?
You don't happen to have a hatch cover or the carpet piece that covers the spare? (In blue)
Negative
i’m looking to get a jackspania shifter for my g35, is it worth it??
Absolutely!
So all the shift cables will fit and have room for the exhaust? I was worried about heat.
No different than any other shifter with how the linkage fits.

No. The stabilizer bar held the linkage in place so the ball could rotate. The shifter eliminates the ball.
