IDontKnowImLostForWords I didn't think it was possible. Jay Foreman revitalizing a previous series without a well-defined end that many would agree could allow for several more excellent episodes?
I really enjoy watching Jay and Geoff’s videos about London. Having left London in the mid-60’s, it’s nice to be reminded of the area in which I grew up. Jay pointed out where Bruce Forsythe once lived in Uphill Drive as they drove up Watford Way between Mill Hill Broadway and Apex Corner. At the time, Bruce was the compare of Val Parnell’s Sunday Night at the London Palladium. I had a paper round in that area at the time but I only saw him the once as he was leaving the house. I would have been thirteen. He came out of the house to open the gates as I was walking down the footpath. I suddenly saw him and froze to the spot in panic! He glanced over at me and then walked over to pick something up by the road. I could see him chuckling to himself. I expect that he’d got used to startling shy young paperboys, lol. From Uphill Drive, Geoff and Jay would have gone around Apex Corner and taken the A1 Barnet Way leaving the A41 behind. Bruce Forsythe wasn’t the only famous person living in that area. Both Leslie Phillips from the ‘Carry On’ films and Roger Moore lived in Barnet Way. Roger Moore lived, I think, at no 48 and Leslie Phillips at 78, (I used to deliver Leslie Phillips’ newspapers at one time). In Roger Moore’s case, this would I think have been after he had split up with Dorothy Squires and would have been playing in ‘The Saint’. I never saw Roger Moore myself although my Mum and my brother-in-law frequently did. Leslie Phillips was often to be seen around, usually accompanying his children walking up to the shops at Apex Corner. As far as I know, he lived at that address for many years. Jay seems to have a very intimate knowledge of this area. I was born and grew up in Ellesmere Avenue and the short cut through from the bottom of Ellesmere Avenue to what we used to call ‘Scratch Woods’ motorway service station, was not common knowledge when I lived there. I’m surprised that it hasn’t been blocked off. The residents wouldn’t thank Jay for advertising it on RUclips, lol.
@@user-ky6vw5up9m Yes, yes, yes, lol. I knew that Patrick McGoohan and Graham Hill lived on the Ridgeway somewhere. Patrick Troughton also comes to mind. I didn't know that Topol and Rodney Bewes lived in the area. I once dropped off some cakes at Patrick McGoohan's house when I worked for Mr Hinds, the baker, in Dawes Lane. My Mum worked in his shop at one time. She often served Patrick McGoohan. She loved him. She said how polite and respectful he was. Thanks for that.
1:25 Geoff's hesitancy tells me that he knows he's in for a mini roasting on the old Coldplay admission. Edit: It was definitely the third album tour btw!
I'm sure in a big venn diagram there would be lots of us in the section between London based transport videos, London based history videos and London based bands called Coldplay videos!

Great idea - look forward to the other parts. I'm sure you've already thought of this, but if you do more videos in the mini (please do) - please consider lepel mics so your voices are clearer over the mini's rumble :)
I'm so thrilled you are spending time in the area I live in. I know all these roads, been driving there, too. Pretty cool! And yes, the Archway has a fantastic view of London.
It's the collaboration I've wanted for the last 5 minutes when I discovered Geoff's channel this morning and wondered if he's done any videos with the Unfinished London guy.
This is awesome! It's like Unfinished London 2.0. Similar enough to be of the same value to myself - different enough for Jay to have fun in creating new things instead of rehashing the same concepts.

hey I am a student studying city planning and I watch your channel too!

Two of my favorite RUclipsrs coming together for a project! The best Christmas gift you could ask for!
I don't often comment on RUclips, but I think that this vid is both charming, informative and extremely well done. Bravo!

My two favourite London nerds in the same vid... this is RUclips gold. Hell it’s simply gold, period.

Moar! I live in Sweden, and I can't wait for more roadtrips up (or down) roads I know NOTHING about, but are presented cheerfully nerdy!
