  • Join me in this step-by-step acrylic painting tutorial designed for absolute beginners and those battling procrastination! I'll guide you through creating a mountain landscape with a rustic barn.
    Materials used in this video:
    • HB pencil (if you want to sketch with pencil)
    • Canvas, paper or panel (I paint on a piece of paper of about 11x15 inch / 30x40 cm).
    • Colors: cadmium yellow light (or primary yellow, hansa yellow light, azo yellow light), phthalo blue (or cyan), pyrrole red, yellow ochre, burnt umber, ultramarine blue and titanium white.
    • Brushes (just use some round and some flat brushes).
    • Jar of water, paper towel, palette, palette knife.

Okay! I painted with you, and the hardest thing is to know how much color I need to make. You say, beginners often make too little, and I definitely do that. Also, I never know how long it takes for the layer to dry so sometimes the colors mix/smudge together, and it looks bad. And sometimes, if I go over a wet area with new paint, I can pick up the color and expose the canvas.
Anyway, good learning experience, thanks for the step-by-step

You're welcome and thanks for sharing your experience!
The things you describe are very understandable. In the beginning you'll spend some time learning those very practical things as you describe.
After a few paintings, you'll do some of these things automatically. And then you start wondering things about tonal values and colors or all kind of other things.
But the start is hardest, because you get overloaded with new things.
So, good job! Just continue and remember that in a way it is great that there are things to learn, otherwise it would be boring!😂👍🎨

Grappig. Dit was voor mij de eerste keer dat ik een engelse video van je zie. Meeste wist ik dus al van je Nederlandse….
