Dr. Bagwell is the single greatest teacher I’ve ever had. Extremely wise and represents the Platonic value of a mentor exceptionally.

For me goodness is treating everyone nicely and not ignore anyone
And I do it and get ignored everytime

Goodness is trying to maximise total human happiness and minimise its suffering. The real trick is the exchange rate of different people's happiness, e.g. how much happiness am I prepared to give up so others can increase theirs, etc.

"Goodness" from the human perspective is all subject to ones beliefs. Believing in the possibility of goodness requires morals. Some people lack, some people are extreme, and some people have a decent balance. Whether a person considers themself religious or not, if you study the life of Jesus almost all will say he was a good person. Therefore to me it is very easy to come up with a standard. Whether you believe he was God's son, or just a great person you can still emulate to the best of a humans ability how he lived and treated others, and we would all be better off for it. Now I don't claim to be anywhere near his level, but I believe it is a good standard to strive towards.

Evolution? Economy? That is ignorance. Of God's message. You ignore that God created men, as oppose some random apes turn into human. You ignore that in trade we are supposed to keep the balance, give as much as we receive, as oppose to give as little as possible to profit as much as possible. Good and bad is decreed, by the Creator, ignoring His message is why people don't know the answer. If i buy a phone i supposed to read the manual, otherwise i wouldn't get most of it, maybe some feature that I wouldn't know exist. Human is given instruction and guidance about life. I'm sad for those studying in his class.

You seem to put a lot of trust in these "ape" messengers who claim to know what God truly wants, thousands of humans have claimed to know this over the last few 1000 years coming in the form of hundreds of religions, forgive me for not trusting some over others and until God themself makes a presence, I will reserve my faith for that

@@BenLynch1 it makes no different. Do you think after death there will be nothing? No, you are still going to see the truth for yourself.

    • @BenLynch1

@@ark9633 I don't know what lies beyond death, and neither do you apart from what some "ape" has claimed what God has waiting for us, why couldn't I make a theory about after death and millions believe it to be the truth when I know I made it up to get me power and privilege? It's funny that's almost every religious "prophet" inherits power and privilege with no factual evidence God has ever spoken to them?
