@@LucyLeheilleix hi we aere going to Mauritius on june 30th in the rio creole hotel can i meet you there we can possibly have some thing to eat there or at your place
My wife and I have been to Mauritius for ten days in February several years ago. We just fell in love with the island and its people. Weather-wise it was indeed hot and humid, but it was such a welcome escape from our Belgian winter that we enjoyed it. We had rain every single day, but it was all short-lived showers that did not ruin the sunshine that still prevailed most of the day. Have we been lucky weather-wise? I don't know, but what I know is that I hate rain at home and in Mauritius it did not bother me. The circumstances of life and of the world (COVID) have so far prevented us from going again to Mauritius, but we definitely want to go back.
Your voice is sooo soothing i can see myself tuning in for some weather report everyday if you were a weather reporter. You'd report it soooo well. Thank you for this video ❤
Been there in February 2019 and think that was awesome!!! Yeah, some days it was a bit too hot for unaccustomed visitors but the weather patterns made for absolutely mind-blowing sunsets and sunrises! We were staying mostly on the southern coast and had a chance to enjoy both every day. Photo-wise that was a totally gorgeous trip! And occasional rains didn't really bother much. Even getting wet in those temperatures was nothing to be afraid of. But now that I got myself injected with the kiteboarding I wanna come back somewhere in May or later to explore this other side of the island. :)
The weather is so unpredictable these days, one never knows what one will get. February is great for swimming, but some find the humidity unbearable. May is a great month 👍🏻
Been there last October/November. It was becoming warmer every day and we were glad for the decision coming before it is really getting hot. This year we will hopefully make it in October. Great island with wonderful people. Lovely food.
Staid for 2 months beginning of December until end of January. One week was constantly raining but as the temperature never drops you can still do beach walks or swimm. Otherwise we were very happy and yes it's warm but not to hot as there's a constant breeze. Love Mauritius

Unfortunately the weather is no guarantee. The east generally is windier than most other places on the island. For this reason, I recommend the west 👍🏻
I prefer October, right balance between Summer and winter with loads of sunny days and warming sea temperatures. I would avoid coming May to August, sea is not ideal for swimming, most days are cloudy and anticyclones(winds from south pole) every few days
Yeah October is a great month, but if one participates in wind sports, then May to August are generally the windiest. Guess it depends on what one wants to do. Thanks for your input.

Enjoy the island! I’m sure you’ll have a great time. I’m not sure how wet it will be as the weather is unpredictable. Regardless, I’m positive you’ll have some nice days.
it is definately January/February reasons: #1 you might enjoy a beautiful tropical cyclone. Perhaps it is a once in a life time experience. 🙂 #2 the island is empty of tourists therefore everything is cheaper and more comfortable, there is no annoying mass anywhere, the traffic jams are not that serious. #3 it is winter in Europe so nothing is better than jump up two seasons in only 18 hours.

Hi, I’m going there as an exchange student, and I get to chose between between mid-February to early June. I really just want ideal beach weather, not a lot of rain, not to humid and not to windy. I’m going there for 7 weeks as well. What time period do u recommend? Thanks
Hi Lucy, just discovered your great channel. We'll be in Mauritius in the Grand Gaub area in mid March. How are the rainy days mid March? Are they short sharp afternoon showers? Or all day downpours? We're worrried about downpours, not so much the temperature or humidity. Thanks!
Hello. Downpours are usually fairly short, however if there’s a heavy rain warning it can last several hours. You’ll be fine. It’s all part of being in the tropics! Enjoy your stay.
Hi 👋 thanks for the VLOG! My wife and I are just finalising our trip to Mauritius for September 2022 and we are trying to decide which side of the Island to stay. We have heard the east coast is very windy at that time of year something to be concerned about?
Hi Lucy, lovely informative video! 🤩 I'm thinking of traveling to Mauritius in June. I'm being told to desist as there's chances of torrential rain & cold. What are your thoughts?
I wouldn't agree about the best time to visit Mauritius, Winter, if I'm wanting to taste the different tropical fruits of Mauritius as they all ripen in summer. The best pineapple in the world grows there, the Queen Victoria pineapple and it's probably my favourite tropical fruit. If I wanted to experience a bit milder temperatures then I agree that winter is better and definitely cooler. The last time I came to Mauritius was in 2013 when I came in July for the first time in winter with my youngest daughter, previously the family would come anytime from November to February. The humidity in summer never bothered me terribly, although Port Louis could be a bit hotter and more uncomfortable. Regardless of the time of year, the sun is strong and it's not hard to get sunburnt and I have more or less olive skin, but was still concerned about the sun's strength as far as getting sunburnt. Actually thinking back to when I was in Mauritius last, the weather was much more pleasant in the winter. And regarding tropical fruit, I wondered why the pineapple tasted so good when the Australian grown pineapple was mediocre and then years later I read that most judges of quality fruit regard the Queen Victoria pineapple as the best pineapple in the world. Lychees are also like very much and don’t think I’d ever tried one before I first went to Mauritius with my wife in 1985. And papaya which I thought I didn’t like when I tried it in Mauritius it tasted good. I can’t recall if the papaya I tried was local or imported from South Africa as it was winter in Mauritius when I tried the papaya although I understand papaya can ripen in autumn also.
Thanks John for your comment. As the climate is mild all year round, I think the only fruit missing in winter would be litchis as one can get pineapples on the island all year round.
Hi Lucy. I watched lots of Mauritius videos which advised to travel to Mauritius in May. My family and I are coming Mauritius Saturday (May 4th) we do love beach and pool time. I’ve just been worrying a little about the temperature. Will it be warm enough to have beach and pool days? Will we be cold? Great channel btw

My wife and I were in the North West,Fort Balaclava, the first 2 weeks of November '21 and the most disappointing thing was the weather.Absolutely gorgeous on the mornings but by lunchtime cloud built up.A boat trip to Isl aux Cerf was almost ruined by a grey start and a trip to Le Morne was drizzly. So expect it to be changeable,it is an island?
That sounds lovely. In theory you should have warm sunny days, but with a bit of wind. Not too much humidity and who knows if it will rain!? The weather is so unpredictable 😅Either way, I’m sure you’ll have fun 👍🏻
The water temperature is around 24 degrees. Definitely still warm enough to swim 😊Normally there is less rain, but the weather is becoming less and less predictable.
Hi , we usually do Barbados every summer last week in June and first week in July , we are slightly concerned about if it is warm enough these months in Mauritius . Especially in the evenings, would we need jackets etc? Also Where would be the warmest part of the island during this time, we’ve been looking at hotels on the west and north , any help would be great
Hello. It will definitely be cooler in Mauritius then. One can be lucky and have fabulous sunny days and cool evenings (yes bring a light jacket). Personally I prefer April/May and October/November. The West is the hottest part. Try and get a hotel with a heated pool….
Hi, Was thinking of travelling to the east coast (belle mare) in mid/late June. How is this wind during this period?? Where is the best place to avoid wind if the east is windy Thanks!
Hi Jack. That is the windy season. I’d go north or west, but Mauritius has many sheltered bays. The most beautiful part of the island is the SW (in my opinion). Have a great time 👍🏻
October/November or April/May. Summer is pretty rough here in my opinion, and people don't really want to come to tropical islands during their "winter". I personally enjoy winter here.
Hello Lucy, we're watching your videos from Italy because we're looking to come visit mauritius from the end of july to august, do you know if in the north-west side of the island the winds are not strong like in the east and south side?? because we don't do water sport we would like to go snorkeling and scuba-diving. Hope you will read this and give us an advice, thanks!!
Hi Lucy really informative content thankyou quick question as I think I might gone wrong I booked 2 weeks march 2nd 2023 but we love the sun and beach and coming from.the UK this is a very expensive holiday would you recommend I change the month
Hi Neil. Don’t take my word for it as the weather these days is so unpredictable, but I’d say March will still be very warm and sunny. If you’re used to an English summer, this will be paradise 😄 All I ask is please don’t blame me for the weather 😉
I plan to be in Mauritius for 10 days in August around ending pls what do I need to know? Such good standard affordable hotel, night life, shopping and tourist attractions? I intend to celebrate my birthday there which falls on the 25th of same August
I am now confused. Online it states on many sites that the best time to visit Mauritius is toward the end of the year, from October through to December, when temperatures are hottest. But now you say that December has terrible rain. We are to visit from Canada in December. Are we doing it wrong? BTW Any tips on an affordable all-inclusive? Or other suggestion?
Hi Mark. My two favourite months are May and October....Cooling down in May and heating up in October. Humidity is way lower too.... December there are always the chances of cyclones and rain. Airbnb may be the way to go if you want affordable. Some of the hotels here are eye watering prices.
Hi there. The weather is so off at the moment….we’re experiencing such a cold winter that I’m finding it increasingly hard to answer that question 😬 If you want hotter weather, maybe October/November or March/April? December to February will be hot and humid, but it’s also the cyclone season. I hope that helps!?

Unfortunately the weather is no guarantee. The east generally is windier than most other places on the island. For this reason, I recommend the west 👍🏻
I’m supposed to go end of August till sept 10 - finding videos so as to pack 😂😂
is last week of October from 28th to the 3rd of November good days to visit
May well be 👍🏻Who knows?
@@LucyLeheilleix ok
@@vinaykothari3663 October generally is very nice. But please don’t hold me to it as the weather is not predictable 😃
@@LucyLeheilleix i understand
Hi Lucy. You are a good ambassador for Mauritius
Thanks Sanassy!
Hi l was there in 2020 from August to November of the weather was fantastic l thought it was summer 😂😂 l stayed in Voila hotel then in October l changed to Anantara in the south. I must say l enjoy your videos l am planning to come again next year. Please keep updating us. Cheers
Thanks Godfrey. The weather is very mild here 👍🏻
HI, I’m looking at coming in June just worried it won’t be great weather.
Hi. The weather is unpredictable, but I personally love winter in Mauritius. Hot during the day and cooler at night. Very nice 🙂
Great video as usual ,very honest if i may say ,thank you
Thanks very much!
Thanks, always helpful
I was there last week for the first time
Hot and humid
And people said to me that it will be better in 2 or 3 months
It was fine for me
Hope to be there soon
See u 👋
That’s excellent Fred. Some people love the humidity. I like the warm ocean in summer, but prefer the comfortable outdoor temp in winter.
@@LucyLeheilleix during my 5 days I had time to go to the Pouce, to the beaches, to visit aimes malls , etc …. Following your advices , tips and videos!!
Thanks a lot
I guess one thing is missing on your channel 😜😇
It’s about meeting people in Mauritius 🇲🇺
I am coming alone here In may , and last week there , I was thinking about that
How to meet people here when you’re coming from abroad 🤟
Thanks Fred for that info. That could indeed make a good topic.
@@LucyLeheilleix I don’t know but I was thinking about that …. Dame !!! How to meet people here ? I am coming from

I’ve found so many thing on your famous Mauritius channel but nothing about how meeting people here 🙏
Thx a lot each time to take time to respond to me
Have a good night 💤
0:12 - rainy season gen. starts from Nov. to Apr.
How about middle of October?
It was funny when you said “windchill”…. The windchill here has caused the temperature to go to -30 C 😅
Ha ha! That is funny. Seriously though, one gets tropicalised. I’m cold in any water temp under 24 deg Celsius 🤣
Great channel Lucy! I am planning on coming right at the start of April for a couple of weeks, is this a good time to visit? How has the summer months been?
I love Mauritius! 😍 Thanks👍
I subscribe 😊
Hi Lucy. I stumbled across your channel. Im coming to Mauritius next week, 6 May. Thanks for your channel. Very informative & interesting 👍🇿🇦
Awesome! I hope you enjoy your stay!
@@LucyLeheilleix Thank you Lucy ❤️
Awesome Video with very Helpful information
Thank you always Lucy
Great Video! What do you think about June, thinking about going to a hotel in the east of the island. Could there be a problem with wind and rain? Thanks!
June can be cooler. Just remember it is winter. April and May are good, as are Oct and Nov. All my opinion though…
October is also a good time to come to mauritius .
October is great too 👍🏻
Very helpful information, thanks a lot!! I wanna go in August, is it cold for snorkel?
Not too cold at all. It’s lovely this time of the year.
@@LucyLeheilleix Hallo dear Lucy! How is it in July?? (Blue Bay) Can you still go snorkeling 🤿 and do you have sunny 🌞 weather?? Thank you for your advice!
Agrred, the perfect time to visit
Yep. Can’t wait till I can turn off the Aircon.
Hey thanks for this video! We are set to come during the last week of May, I’m so worried we are going to have lots of rain that week - what’s the rain like in May please ?
Enjoy the island! I’m sure you’ll have a great time. I’m not sure how wet it will be as the weather is unpredictable. Regardless, I’m positive you’ll have some nice days.
@@LucyLeheilleix thanks so much for responding Lucy😀. May I ask what the current weather has been like the past few days ?
it is definately January/February
reasons:
#1 you might enjoy a beautiful tropical cyclone. Perhaps it is a once in a life time experience. 🙂
#2 the island is empty of tourists therefore everything is cheaper and more comfortable, there is no annoying mass anywhere, the traffic jams are not that serious.
#3 it is winter in Europe so nothing is better than jump up two seasons in only 18 hours.
Thanks for your insights. Much appreciated 👍🏻
🙂@@LucyLeheilleix
Oh, and the bright red and bright yellow birds. They come during a certain season too. Not sure when that is?
They are pretty much here all year round. The red fody bird and the yellow weaver bird.
@@LucyLeheilleix yeah, there the ones. All year you say? Fantastic. Can't wait to see them, if all goes to plan, I'll have six weeks to enjoy! Them and the bats are amazing
Hello lucy, we are planning to visit in June 2024. Is it too windy and cold (we would like to relax on the beach too) to go to la morne beach, especially Dinarobin beachcomber? Many thanks for your feedback and thanks for you video.
Hello. It’s difficult to know. This year we hardly had a winter…. Either way, Mauritius is a great place to visit. 👍🏻
Hi, I’m going there as an exchange student, and I get to chose between between mid-February to early June. I really just want ideal beach weather, not a lot of rain, not to humid and not to windy. I’m going there for 7 weeks as well. What time period do u recommend? Thanks
Good luck!! April is my favourite month!
I’d stay in the west. Flic en Flac is great as it’s slightly sheltered.
@@LucyLeheilleix thanks for that! I think we might go for Sugar Beach 😊
Hi Lucy fantastic insight as usual.👍
Thanks Vikash.
Great video really informative, renting Kite gear is easy?
You can rent at ion club in Le Morne.
Hi Lucy, lovely informative video! 🤩
I'm thinking of traveling to Mauritius in June. I'm being told to desist as there's chances of torrential rain & cold. What are your thoughts?
September is a god time for summer holiday?
Should be ok 👍🏻 October will be hotter.
Just discovered your vlogs and keep it up. You are fantastic😍
See you in May !
Hi Lucy, great video! I was thinking to go beginning of May, how will the weather be?
Hi there. May is usually nice. I can’t say for sure though what the weather will be like exactly at that time.
Very good info thanx 🙌
A pleasure 👍🏻
Hello! It’s currently 28 degrees Celsius. I’m sure you will have a great time 😀
Can we expect a lot of rain? We there for the next 2 weeks
What about the end of March..? My wife's birthday is the 27th and I want to surprise her with a trip to either Four Seasons or one of the big four up north..?
March is great 👍🏻
Is worth going at the end of April?
It’s always worth going 😀
Thinking about coming for a month mid September to mid October. Likely to be dry?
I’m not too sure Claire. In theory….yes, but the weather is never certain… I’m a fan of that time of the year as it’s less humid.
@@LucyLeheilleix thank you, tropical places are always a little unpredictable arent they, let’s keep everything crossed 🤞 thanks for the quick comment loving your vlogs 👍👍
I like the fact that your videos are not lengthy, mostly less than 10 min...but very informative! You should give us some tips on how to get an excellent shape and fitness as you...I can see the biceps coming lol :D
Thanks 🙏 I generally like to keep my videos short and sweet. I don’t believe in dragging things out. Great fitness/content tip!
How is the Mauritius weather in March, is it raining a lot?
It can rain a lot then!
Hi Lucy, do you get enough sun in August to be more brown?
It’s 26 degrees today, so here’s hoping 🤞🏻
My wife and I were in the North West,Fort Balaclava, the first 2 weeks of November '21 and the most disappointing thing was the weather.Absolutely gorgeous on the mornings but by lunchtime cloud built up.A boat trip to Isl aux Cerf was almost ruined by a grey start and a trip to Le Morne was drizzly. So expect it to be changeable,it is an island?
Hi Neale. That sounds very much like typical summer weather. Up until October, usually, the weather is fabulous.
Mam, I’m planning in January
Hello Lucy! Here from Portugal! We made the reservation for the beginning of September, for the Belle Mare area. What can we expect? 🥰🥰 thanks!! 🙏🏽
That sounds lovely. In theory you should have warm sunny days, but with a bit of wind. Not too much humidity and who knows if it will rain!? The weather is so unpredictable 😅Either way, I’m sure you’ll have fun 👍🏻
@@LucyLeheilleix thank you!! 🥹
Hei,:)
is it still warm enough to swim in may?
or does it rain a lot?
We are going to visit Mauritius on the beginning of october. We are staying on the eastcoast. Is it a good month with a 1.5 year old?
It should be, but I don’t know what the weather will be like as it’s unpredictable. Enjoy 😉
What about October? I’ve heard that it is the driest month. Is it true?
October can be nice, but don’t hold me to it as the weather is changing the world over.
Hi, Was thinking of travelling to the east coast (belle mare) in mid/late June. How is this wind during this period?? Where is the best place to avoid wind if the east is windy
Thanks!
Hi Jack. That is the windy season. I’d go north or west, but Mauritius has many sheltered bays. The most beautiful part of the island is the SW (in my opinion). Have a great time 👍🏻
We arrived today and it’s raining and checked the forecast and says rain most days! ☹️Is there a month you can come here where there’s no rain?
There’s an anticyclone that’s why. Rainy season is Nov to April. I’m sure you’ll get some sunshine. Enjoy the island.
isit always this cloudy?
October/November or April/May. Summer is pretty rough here in my opinion, and people don't really want to come to tropical islands during their "winter". I personally enjoy winter here.
100% agreed!
Hi Lucy, just found your channel. Coming from the Uk , what sort of charger/adapter shall I bring along pls?
Hello. MU uses European and UK square pin.
@@LucyLeheilleix thanks for the swift reply 🤗
👍🏻 thx Lucy. Where is the best place to live in Mauritius ? We are thinking of moving from South Africa next year.
Hi Michael. My opinion may differ from others, but I like the west of the island as its close to mountains and forests and is more spectacular.
Have plan to visit in mid september 2022, is it perfect time?
September can be nice 👍🏻
@@LucyLeheilleix thank you
Hello Lucy, we're watching your videos from Italy because we're looking to come visit mauritius from the end of july to august, do you know if in the north-west side of the island the winds are not strong like in the east and south side?? because we don't do water sport we would like to go snorkeling and scuba-diving. Hope you will read this and give us an advice, thanks!!
Hello. The wind should be less strong on that side.

Hello! You’ll find plenty of videos answering all of your questions on my RUclips channel. 👍🏻
Woukd August be a good time to come for a honeymoon? Hoping for sunny warm weather and low humidity
Hi there. The weather is so off at the moment….we’re experiencing such a cold winter that I’m finding it increasingly hard to answer that question 😬 If you want hotter weather, maybe October/November or March/April? December to February will be hot and humid, but it’s also the cyclone season. I hope that helps!?
Hello, do I need a permit to fly my drone in Mauritius? Is there a regulation where to fly ones. Thanks
Drone flying is very relaxed here. Just respect the general piloting rules and you’re going to be fine.
Another great video!!
Thanks so much.
