There are two things that have made me breakdown crying instantly as soon as I heard, and was told that they had passed away. They are Dean Martin and (please forgive me) Secretariat. They are both beautiful one of a kind Handsome Winners, that Nobodyelse can ever compare to either one of them. And Secretariat wasn't just any horse, Winning All Three Triple Crown Races in 1973 !!!!
I appreciate you posting these when you’re able. I love watching them with my parents who remember Dean very well. They watched him growing up and through high school and now I get the pleasure of watching him in my 20’s. I greatly appreciate it, it’s bringing the family together again
That is so awesome that you’re in your 20’s and enjoy these. It gives me hope that some of the “younger generation” as I call them do realize what great television was. It makes me happy 😃
A true entertainment program. Brings joy, laughter and relaxation to the audiences- neither at the event/or viewers at home. Dean Martin shows was/is doing just that. He’ll always be remembered. Thank you. Take care🙂everyone.
As a kid, I remember the KENILWORTH HOTEL in Miami Beach, owned by Arthur Godfrey, rumor has it Godfrey barred Jewish folks from staying at his hotel. By 1966 his popularity had waned. I did see him riding a horse at a horse show I attended in Miami Beach around 1970 I believe. I was in the first row and he rode his horse right up to where i was sitting. I will never forget the big grin he had when the announcer announced his name. Time flies.
You're wrong. The rumour that he was an anti semite was persistent, but untrue. Dick Cavett knew him personally, and said it was untrue, and that it was a "bum rap". Book written about him -- Arthur Godfrey: The Adventures of an American Broadcaster" in 2000 - Rejects the persistent accusation that Arthur Godfrey (1903-1983) was an antisemite, citing his good personal relations with a number of Jews in the entertainment industry. In regard to Godfrey's association in the 1920s with a hotel near Miami that would not accept Jews, notes that ***when Godfrey acquired a stake in the hotel in the early 1950s this policy was changed.**** (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism - The Hebrew University of Jerusalem)
@@susantunbridge4612 When Arthur Godfrey fired Julius LaRosa live on his show that was the beginning of the end of Godfrey's career and popularity "Julius that was your swan song" -- the public was outraged by this at the time, siding with LaRosa and the public as well as the media were outraged by Godfrey's overt cruelty. From then on Godfrey's popularity waned and he died primarily forgotten in 1983. But I am happy to had seen him in 1970, I was just about 5 feet from him and he was on a horse smiling at a horse show at the Miami Convention Center. May he RIP. The horse that is ...lol...only kidding...RIP Arthur.
Thank you for these shows my mom was a big Dean Martin fan. So cool this show aired two days after I was born 🤗👍💗. Dean Martin was and will always be The King of Cool 💙
As a kid I loved Dean, my first crush. His album with everybody loves somebody on it was the first one I bought when I started working. I looked forward to his show every week. However, my father was an alcoholic and would go on binges, and before he ended up passing out he terrified my siblings and I as he beat my mother for no reason other than he could. If he was asleep before Dean came on we could watch in peace but if not then it was impossible. As he never knew when it was on and I was careful not to let him know how keen I was on it (that would have meant never seeing it again as he took great pleasure in depriving us of things he knew we liked) so we learned to tiptoe around him and do nothing to provoke him in the hours leading up to the start of the show.
Fantastic! I love seeing these compete shows. I keep hoping that before I die they’ll come out on DVD in season sets, but I doubt that will ever happen. Thank you so much for the great memories 😎
Arthur Godfrey was one of the most powerful and famous entertainers in America when he appeared on this show. Ask anyone under 50 today if they know who he is.
Despite the fact that every 1 thought that dean was always drinking and drink,,he did have a drink now and again but he, had apparently used apple juice and ice and it looked like booze but he said in a interview that NBC would not have some 1 who was a drunk and pay him the money he was paid, and the twelve alcock shadow was because he filming a movie with John Wayne called, Rio bravo, as broken down Sheriff and again he played a drunk, he was definitely a one off, never will go out of style, he was a huge hit and he was ahead of his time absolutely fabulous and very relaxed he is mr cool. GARRISON SERGEANT MAJOR MCINALLY
He was not a drinker. He carried apple juice around. As anyone can see, he never would have been the huge success he was if he'd been an alcoholic. And a successful golfer, and a horse trainer - career in movies, in recording, with his own 10 year long TV show, and the roasts. He was the highest paid entertainer in the world at one point - and you don't get that far being a drinker. He disliked parties, famously calling the police to shut one down that was in his own house. He was home for supper on time, went to bed early so that he could get up early and go golfing, every day. Athletic, and fit, never looked like a drinker, great skin and a great physique.
Drinkers/drunk persons or not- words you chose to use on the person, is absolutely inappropriate. It’s none of my business- but.. Sad. No one earns the respect from disrespecting the other.
What? Dean and Jerry broke up after years of "open warfare". This is the Dean Martin show, not Martin and Lewis. Dean became a huge success after leaving Lewis. Dean did not speak to Jerry for at least 20 years after they broke up. Nobody was allowed to mention Jerry around Dean. I can't stand listening to Jerry Lewis, hate the sound of that fake voice. When Dean left, after years of being bullied by Jerry Lewis, and dominated by him - he said "you're nothing but a f'ing dollar sign to me." And that was that. They said to him "you can't do this", and Dean said "Just watch me."
@@susantunbridge4612Wrong, again!! My God, can't you at least research before posting this crap?? They spoke ALOT! They even talked about getting back together! Dean loved Jerry, he never ever hated him and wouldn't allow ANYONE to talk bad about him. Go read it for yourself. The feud was a myth
@@susantunbridge4612Where do you get your information? None of what you say is true. They said ALOT of things to each other they didn't mean. They went through some tough times together. If you're a Dean Martin fan, you would know all this. Frank knew it, Sammy knew it. Dean refetenced him so many times on his show. They both wore their "twin watches" well after the split. Why would Dean do that if he hated him. He wouldn't have. Dean loved him and it showed
It doesn’t look out of place today, but it would have looked sloppy in 1966. I think Dean looked great in that five o’clock shade, and it suited his drunk act.
I was 3 years old in 1966, I'm sure my parents were watching this that night! I miss you mom & dad!
Fabulous, I have got this show. Dean was the greatest and there will never be anyone like him, 👏👏👏🥰💕
What disc collection? It’s this FULL episode? I’m grabbing all I can. I see some of it that is in DVD but some I don’t. So I may not have the disc.

I always enjoyed watching his shows when i was a kid.
It was Dean and Frank's world then; everybody else was just living in it.

Great
Can you post the full episode of Connie Francis on the Dean Martin Show ?
Not many people know that Dean had false teeth since he was 42 years old,at least they weren't phony veneers.
He had caps on his teeth, crowns. That's obvious if you watch him with Jerry Lewis before he had his teeth crowned.
@@susantunbridge4612 he would take out his dentures near the end of his life with a reporter that interviewed him in a restaurant.
Hello! can you upload the concert "Together Again" from 1988 Here or in Dailymotion? Please 🛐
