Haven't watched it yet, looking forward to tho. so I appreciate no spoilers. Justt from your description of the film alone, I kinda get the feeling, that you're not familiar with the topic of domestic violence itself, that's why it doesn't make sense to you. The abuser hooks the victim with love bombing, being fun and loving an caring. And that's why when the abuse happens, it's such a shock. Because it doesn't make sense for the victim and she's trying to get back to the "good" side of her partner that she's seen before. The abuser apologises and swears it'll never happen again or blames the victim, but eventually they get back togerther until the next time smth sets him off. It's an incredibly toxic situation and breaking out of such vicious circle is very difficult.

I saw this a few days ago. I really liked it. If you have been in a similar situation, it is truly relatable. Blake did an amazing job!

I look forward to watching it on streaming. I only go to the theater for popcorn buckets. I love movies. But it is too expensive to see a movie that I am not 100 percent excited to see.

I agree! It used to cost like $25 total with ticket/popcorn. Now it's well over $100, I only go if I'm THAT excited to see it.
