Sounds like it’s flawless 👀
Congrats on your new show! Absolutely hoping for the best!
@@DukesTheater Thanks! Couldn’t have done it without The Dukes™
Perfection, indeed! The only scene I consider useless is the whole subway station part at the beggining.
Yes! I had the chance to take a trip to the Atlanta Film Festival to see this and it truly blew me away! I can't wait to see the response to this one once it's officially released. The emotional depth, the sense of redemption and brotherhood, and so much more. It does it all without dipping into exploitation and melodrama. Great commentary! 👏👏👏
This sounds brilliant! Where can I watch it at the moment?
@@ReeveReviews it’s getting a slow roll out over the course of the next few weeks, so it should be playing at a theater near you soon!
Agust 2nd worldwide. Out now in NYC and LA
Sir, “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” is in my top 10 of horror of all time. It’s on-brand for Oz Perkins. You’ll love it, I assure you.
I disagree with the birds being unnecessary I think it gives Robot the necessary experience with attachment and separation to have the emotional intelligence needed to fully let Dog go, so they can both lead the lives they've found since to the fullest.
What a good review! I mean you!
Nice review man! 🔥 just subbed
Oh Mitchell we just watched this movie. It was amazing and one of the best movies we have ever seen. I agree that this is a movie that I will definitely watch again especially around Christmas because it is a very feel good movie.
Good review! Well said 👍🏼
Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. I saw the film for the first time yesterday, and as an almost 70 year old man who has been through, well, a lot, I was so deeply moved by this heartwarming and heartbreaking story. Like both Dog and Robot, I have had important people leave my life, people without whom I felt I could not survive, and somehow I did. And in times I was slowly able to open my heart again, I found other people for whom I could care deeply, without ever forgetting those who came before. as someone who lived in New York in the 1980s, one thing that struck me about "Robot Dreams" was that, throughout the movie, the World Trade Center is seen in the distance. When I lived there and then, I took it for granted, something always over there that would always be over there, and it was an early visual cue that this film takes place before the turn of the century. As the film went on, though, I felt that the presence of the Twin Towers must be intentional, as was the choice of “September” as a leitmotif throughout the film, as foreshadowings of how permanence and joy can change in an instant. Ultimately what this movie asks us is, what happens when you open your heart to someone and that someone is taken away from you? Is it possible in the face of unspeakable loss to find happiness again? “Robot Dreams” answers this in an exceedingly mature and nuanced and complex and compassionate way. I was an absolute wreck by the end of the film, and I'm still feeling all the feels a day later. And for that I am glad and very grateful.
I loved this film as well and agree with you about the ending. The bit I thought was a little drawn out was the Snowman section: could have done with that being shorter.
Hey Mitchell. Subscribed. Yeah Pearl was okay. I haven’t seen X or this one yet. I may want to, Mia Goth is a great actress.
Damn! That's too bad. Seems to be the consensus. I'm still looking forward to seeing it though.
Hey! Have you seen it yet?
@@metalfacemoviereviews8979Not yet. In a couple hours. 🤞
@@metalfacemoviereviews8979 Well, quite disappointing. Very little I enjoyed about it.
That’s so disappointing :(
Total trip of a movie, very David lynch.
I agree with you. This movie looks really good and I have to see it. The trailer made me cry.
What a beautiful & engaging movie! Every time I watch it, there are new rewards for me. Great experience!!!
Great reaction. I agree, this looks tremendous.
Nice review. The title of the films is so boring! I think the film was intentionally dull and NOT made as the action film that the marketing pretends it is. It's a sneaky "anti biker" film. "The Biker's Wife" I saw someone else call it. Just for the sack of comparing titles, here's a list from Wiki of some 60s biker films: Scorpio Rising (1964) Motorpsycho (a.k.a. Motor Psycho) (1965) The Love Merchant (1966) Girls from Thunder Strip (1966) Outlaw Motorcycles (1966) Teenage Gang Debs (1966) The Wild Angels (1966) The Born Losers (1967, released 1969) Devil's Angels (1967) The Glory Stompers (1967) Hells Angels on Wheels (1967) The Hellcats (a.k.a. Biker Babes) (1967) The Rebel Rousers (1967, released 1970) Wild Rebels (1967) Angels from Hell (1968) The Angry Breed (1968) The Great Chase, Breaking It Up (1968) The Girl on a Motorcycle (1968) Hell's Chosen Few (1968) The Mini-Skirt Mob (1968) The Sweet Ride (1968) l Profeta (1968) Biker Babylon (a.k.a. It's a Revolution Mother) (1968) The Savage Seven (1968) Savages from Hell (1968) She-Devils on Wheels (1968) The Cycle Savages (1969) Easy Rider (1969) Five the Hard Way (a.k.a. The Sidehackers) (1969) Free Grass (a.k.a. Scream Free!) (1969) Hell's Belles (1969) Hell's Angels '69 (1969) Naked Angels (1969) Run, Angel, Run! (1969) Satan's Sadists (a.k.a. Nightmare Bloodbath) (1969) Sinner's Blood (1969) Sisters in Leather (1969) Wild Wheels (1969). As you can see, the film makers did not answer the bell and try to come up with anything as memorable as those. Call me weird, but I think biker films, especially biker films set in the 60s, should have catchy titles.
Love your review. You know what you’re talking about.
Finally, an honest review. I just saw the Bikeriders. For once, I didn't care that someone in the theater was on their phone. His Instagram feed was literally the most exciting part.
Well done. TY, Have not seen the film. It disappeared from the local cinema, so I ordered the blue ray.
I thought the scenes with the birds were integral to Robot being able to make the decision it made at the end.
Did you watch rise of the planet of the apes?
Robot Dreams is my favorite among the Oscar nominees for Animated movies
Tbh dog is a pussy and a dumbass he could’ve done so much better and then he just gave up on robot 😭
It doesn't get here to "Silicon Valley" until the 31st of May, but I want to go see it. I'm already working on the song "September" on my trumpet. I think that song is going to be very popular this summer.
I saw the movie. I really enjoyed the action but the ending lost me 😅 I wasn’t sure what the message was from it if there was one.
Dog makes me so angry. Robot deserved so much better
There was no need to animate this movie with Unreal Engine and paintings. The results are meh and the movie will look dated as soon as youtubers manage to pull off better results with a fraction of an effort, which is bound to happen pretty soon. The film could have been beautiful if shot as standard feature film. Plot is a very simplified and one sided synopsis of a book. Genuinely liked most of cast and the music though.
Good video bro
Hi (spoilers ahead) i think that the bird sequence is necessary to show robot is finally connecting with someone who isnt dog. Throughout the movie he is kind to everyone he meets, but the only relationship he has is with dog. For months, their reunion is all he dreams about. Its only after the ice cracks that his own shell metaphorically begins to crack too. Anywyas nice vid, sorry for the ramble i saw the movie four times and im in love with it

I feel that the lack of clarity on the geopolitics is key to the themes and story. When you remove the reliable instant communication that we are used to -social media, gps, cable- you become more dependant on journalism. We the audience experience the frustration of being in a war. Information is key to survival. War always leaves you with more questions than answers.
We will have to check this out, nice review!
