  • Hi there all, I wasn't gona make a video of this until I realized that I should but by then I already removed the pump so in this vid am re fitting the pump, but removing it is basically the opposite and its not to hard on this car.
    Make sure the battery is disconnected and you wear protective clothing in case any fuel gets spilt on your skin.

    Hi, I have a 1988 2.6. The buzzing sound from the fuel pumps is a bit erratic. Now the car randomly cuts out. I have changed the Fuel Pump Relay and the fuel pumps were changed about two years ago with Bosch ones.
    I’m told it could be the fuel pumps again or the crankshaft position sensor.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks,
    Irfan.

      🤔 is this the relay you changed ? There is another relay that can cause issues. ruclips.net/video/Dh4ZctocPF8/видео.html

      If your car has a distributor then there is no crankshaft sensor that can cause cutting out issues. If there is no distributor then yes there could be a problem with the sensor. Or it could be cutting out for other reasons.

      Hi mine was a 5 bar, i think the 6.5 bar goes on the 6 cylinder engines

    What is the part next to filter on right?

    • @bernardwarr4187
      @bernardwarr4187 2 года назад

      Pressure regulator, excess fuel pressure is returned to the tank

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  2 года назад +3

      I think the regulator is in the engine bay, the one next to the filter is an accumulator, keeps the pressure in place after switching off the engine, so it can then be started faster, though pressure reduces with time, it can be measured with a fuel pressure gauge. ive been doing some research heheheh...

    Hello friend, I have a problem, I already changed the fuel pump and it does not turn on, and the problem is also not the relay because it works and even so the fuel pump does not show any sign of life, what could it be? Can you point me to something I can do? Big regards!! 🤜🤛

      May I just ask, how do you know the relay is working properly, just because mine was intermittently working and failing hehehe. how ever if you pins 30 and 87 of the relay it will bypass the relay check out this vid minute ruclips.net/video/Dh4ZctocPF8/видео.html 6:05 if you connect a wire between those two pins and refit the relay then ignition on either the pump will work or it wont, if it doesn't check all you fuses. do you have an immobilizer fitted by any chance ?

      The plus wire has gone, so did it in my 190e 2.6

    • @ap6878
      @ap6878 Год назад

      The relay pin 87 is for the fuel pumps, the 2.6 Has 2

      It allso goes to the aircondition and the warning lights

      So i had 2 rewire it

  • @ap6878

    It will only take a wire, but it will cost a lot at a work shop

      I can imagine, labour cost are expensive, and so are the parts.

      Diesel cars dont actually have fuel pumps like this. Pressure is what makes diesel explode. They have a pump right on the engine block
