Back in 1998/1999, a group of guys terrorized the city of Aba.
They were known as the “Mafians”.
These guys were owned the street and so were untouchable and fearless, robbing,” obtaining” and inflicting injuries on any one that tried to confront them until the emergence of the “Bakassi boys”.
I sat with one of the then mafians who shared his story of how he got into the streets at a very young age, how he escaped death and how his life turned out afterwards.
