Yes, the Birkin bag belonged to Whitney (the young woman who approaches Lydia in NY). It is implied that they spent the night together and that Whitney gave the bag to Lydia as a (thank you?) gift.

Well Lydia was even more sick in many other ways than Sharon was and ig it was good for all three of them although i'd love to see them together in the end
I thought they were deeply in love since I noticed their exhale 1:20 meaning that both were home for each other 🤡
Despite other people's opinions, I think Lydia and Sharon truly love each other. There are subtle signs of their affection all throughout the movie. Nina Hoss even pointed that out in more than one interview for Tár.
I hate when movies never reveal what PILLS the characters are popping but this one instance she says Metroprolol so is that what Lydia had been taking on the airplane,car,hotel? That is a beta blocker that isn’t that exciting so I don’t get it LOL
It just keeps her calm.
What is happening to Sharon in this scene??? I don’t get what she says is back. The caption says “Flowers” 😂😂 I’m sure she doesn’t have flowers in her lungs.

@@mailys012 Oh, I totally get it now. It’s arrhythmia! Wow, how interesting it is, the fact Sharon stuffers from arrhythmia and Lydia suffers misophonia disorder. I guess Lydia perceives Sharon’ heartbeats sometimes.

But what do you think is going on with the pills? Why couldn’t she find her Metroprolol? That isn’t even the kind of medication that goes missing (it’s not controlled or anything).. like Lydia could get her own pills? I don’t understand it
I have trouble believing she doesn't have a stack of emergency pills somewhere. Lydia probably just forgot to bring back to Sharon the bottle she said she would get. you would need a prescription for those I believe, hence probably why Lydia is stealing them (she can't admit even to herself she needs them to calm down - Sharon has an 'excuse', Lydia just has too much going on). But Sharon probably knows what she's doing and doesn't mind. If Sharon truly feared for her life at that moment (especially with Petra in the house) she could call her doctor or a drugstore/pharmacy. She waited for Lydia to come back by plane, and exaggerated her symptoms, as an excuse to reconnect and require affection.@@user-cg9ko3yu3r
Sharon needs it for her arrythmia, but Lydia needs it because she just has a lot going on and she can't admit that to herself (also i believe you would need a prescription, so lydia would have to admit her anxiety). Lydia offers to Sharon to get her pills bottles, but help herself along the way. Sharon probably knows what she's doing, doesn't mind it (many orchestra players use meds to calm down Todd explained in an interview) and is using it against her in this moment. Someone as organized as Sharon would always have an emergency stack, and if she truly feared for her health (especially with Petra in the home), she could call a doctor or a pharmacy to get more medication. But she waited hours for Lydia to come back from New York, and used her heart issues as an excuse to require care and affection. They have hit a dry place in their relationship in the last few years, and while they still have the complicity, the affection they both need has become harder to get (like many couple) @@user-cg9ko3yu3r Sharon is doing what she can, and she's far from innocent. "Those are the rules" she said. How much of those rules require Lydia to be that Persona Lydia Tar? Could she stop being that persona and keep Sharon? there are so many layers, it's so interesting! I need more fanfiction (or the deleted scenes but Todd will never release those - I will pray still)
