    The Erie sound from the drone moving, the steam, the overcast, and the strange figures (zombies)moping around on the ground, what a great 👍 video.

    Wow, now that is a fresh looking lava field. Guess it’ll take years to fully cool to background temperature. Every time it rains water will trickle down to the hot rock layer and flash to steam
    PS - lava field edge looks like my brownie pan edge if I overcook it

    What a great way to use the drone, sometimes hovering above the vapors, sometimes crossing them and these views at the level of the lava as if we were going to touch them, magnificent atmosphere!

    Roman, Thank you for this video, it looks mysterious with the steam and the low clouds. Every time it’s different. Greetings from the Netherlands.

    Amazing 3 years post eruption and the ground is still hot, what would happened if you drill say 5 meters into the lava field ?? would there still be molten lava ???

    All those gasses coming up and leaving yellow and white chemicals on the rocks. Wtf are people walking around in it? And why are you taking children into it? Am I just confused ? Great video though.

    That was so eerie! I am amazed that a group of people can just wander around in all that smoke and desolation. I hope no one wanders off or falls in a crack! Yikes!

      Lava layer there is very thin...maybe 1 m. And 3 yrs passed so its all hard. Steaming was after the rain.

      Great filming! I wo under if that large erratic could one day be excavated, if the lava's not too deep. It was a bit sad to see it vanish.

    Very cool footage but that does not seem right to be standing on that surface. Might need some education in regards to the lava fields. Especially when they are still venting.

    What is the translation of Sundhnukar?

    • @IcelandExplorer
      @IcelandExplorer  16 дней назад +1

      "Pool peaks"...sund = swimming pool hnukur = peak, hill (hnukar in plural). Or maybe its from Sundur / Separately "Dividing Peaks" bcs there r no pools there, á kind of strange, or maybe there had been some pools or small lakes in the area were before 12th century eruption. At least there is ground water at Hagafell. But I m not a linguist. First part can also be from Irish, as with many placenames in the area as Grindavik (first part Grinda is bright in Irish while vik is bay in Old Norse). At least hnukar are peaks
