    Hi Roman, thank you so much for taking this detailed video of recent berm works. I've been watching from afar on other streams and it's often difficult to judge due to the long camera views and compressed perspective exactly what is being done by the hard working construction teams, your video showcased excellently from a better perspective the work being done. It's obvious now they have a lot more earth to move before the next eruption.

    I hope the people understand that they need to be checking their air filters on their vehicles every single day they drive that road. That includes their internal AC filters inside their cars. They need to buy and keep extra filters with them. They are now driving on top of powdery Ash. That too, needs to be addressed with their vehicles. It's going to increase the wear and tear on them. Owning a compressor would be a really good idea. Setting up more self-service pressure washing stations for people would also be another good idea. I wish the people of Iceland safety and well-being. ❤

    The rate of uplift now, after this last eruption has ended, makes it look like there will be a 2 month window of time before the next eruption. Raising the berms during this grace period has to be top priority. In the long term, however, it also looks inevitable that the powerplant will be lost if this active cycle period continues as it has historically, so a new powerplant is badly needed.

    Great video. It fills in the gaps in the view from "afar". I had wondered what the truck crews were doing to the west (building the new roads) and how far the raised berm went to the east. The amount of material they've moved is huge, but compared to mother nature's efforts it's tiny. Are they planning to raise the berms even higher?

    Water Truck spraying used on the roads would cut down the Amount of Dust going into the filters on car engines. Causing all kinds of problems.

      It looks very dusty for all the rain they just got 2 days ago. I’m still watching the webcam, because what they’re doing with the diggers and that nesting seagull hasn’t hatched any babies out yet, from what I can see.

      There are plenty of dirt roads in Australia, and probably the USA, and more remote parts of Africa and Asia. They're a fact of life in many parts of the world....
      It doesn't cause that many problems - if you use them often, you may need to be more careful about changing your filters, that's all. The filters are there to stop dust getting into the engine, and they work quite well.....

    • @AuntieBuddie
      @AuntieBuddie 9 дней назад +2

      This dirt road is 1km long, the engines will survive 😂 and dirt flying off road is exceptional in Iceland where it rains a lot even in summer.

    the land rise is accelerating an the MET office states no signs of decreasing, and the inflow is constant, one has to remember the last time there was an eruption in this area the eruption lasted for 3 decades from 1210 to 1240 The Reykjanes peninsula wich included the Reykjanes fires.
    Plate tectonics on the mid Atlantic rift the lend to long lasting volcanic eruptions, and I have no doubt the blue Lagoon and Gridavik will eventually be covered by lava.

      @@Deb-vu7gk agreement is key to establishing sanity. In the desert we have toxic dust laden with fungal spores that cause “Valley fever”. During the hot summer, dust storms kick up the spores and mix with monsoon rain allowing the spores to grow in moist conditions …. lungs, for example. And then the bloodstream becomes host. Treatable but serious infection. Fungicide meds for 6 months or more.
