    ...but the new ownership is not even official until owners vote at the winter meetings. Elias said this process started in Nov, it was up to Milwaukee to pull the trigger not Baltimore, and no money changed hands.... so to assume this was due to "new ownership" is taking lots of liberties. lol

      @@sendAJtospace Burnes said himself that he wanted to hit free agency and be able to pick where he wanted to play. So right off the bat, he is saying that he won't be here long. Winning, and a great clubhouse can certainly change that, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Not of all time but it was a really good one. Lets not forget we traded for Frank Robinson in 1966 and he preceded to win the triple crown and Mvp on his way to winning world series MVP and a championship. Corbin Burnes is amazing but Robinson form the Red may be the single greatest trade in baseball history.

    I'm not going to say the new ownership didn't have anything to do with the trade, but the ownership hasn't changed hands yet. And Elias says he's been trying to get Burnes since November. So there seems to be a fit of fantasy happening in this video.

Not to mention, the viewers CHOSE the title. In the community tab, it was a vote.

    The best team in the AL by far... did we forget about the Astros?

    • @joshuablevins4340
      @joshuablevins4340 8 месяцев назад

      Nobody forgot about the astros, it's just that nobody views the Astros the same anymore. If you look at Houston's 25-man roster and the Orioles 25-man roster the Orioles have a better and more talented roster player for player from top to bottom and it's as close as you would think. Do your homework dude. Player for player the Orioles are just far better. Not only that but Baltimore has owned Houston the last 2 years to attune of a 9 and 4 head-to-head record, the Astros couldn't even get past a team in their own division let alone win the world series this past year, and the Orioles had a far Superior regular season record as well. Nobody is forgetting about the astros, they're still good, they just aren't as good as the Orioles and within the next year or two they won't even be in Baltimores league.

    • @noriskgaming8312
      @noriskgaming8312 8 месяцев назад

      Orioles are absolutely not better than the Astros man-for-man. Their rotations are comparable with a couple ace-level guys at the front (Verlander and Valdez vs Burnes and Rodriguez, Kyle Bradish is a Camden Merchant), they both have elite bullpens with Houston being better by virtue of having Hader as their closer against Craig Kimbrel, and the Astros lineup is leagues better than Baltimore. Yordan, Tucker, and Altuve are all much better than any of the Orioles best hitters, and Diaz and Bregman are in the same tier as Adley and Gunnar. You say that the Orioles were a better regular season team but they still only had a 1 game better record in terms of pythagorean win-loss. I think that last year got people TOO hyped on Baltimore for a team that I think lacks the top-end star power bats to succeed in October.
      Also here's a couple quick stats how 'superior' the Orioles were in the regular season:
      Bullpen ERA 0.01 lower than Houston
      Starter ERA 0.03 lower than Houston
      wRC+ 7 points lower than Houston
      Fangraphs Defensive Value 10.3 lower than Houston
      Also also, owning a team in the regular season does not mean beating them in the postseason. Since 2017 the Dodgers are 30-15 in the regular season against teams that eliminated them in the postseason. Oh and by the way, the Astros are 59-38 in the playoffs since 2017, the Orioles are 0-3. The Astros have made it to the ALCS 7 times and the Orioles have made it 0 times. The Astros have won 2 WS, the Orioles have won 0.
      Do
      Your
      Homework

    Orioles fan here. Lemme clear up a HUGE problem with your video. The ownership has not changed YET. The deal for Burnes has been in the works since November, under current ownership. The narrative of “Owner changed, now we can spend money” is inaccurate. The other team owners have to approve the sale by 75%, and then it will be official. That has not happened yet. It’s a fun narrative you have, but it’s wildly inaccurate. I suggest you take the time to learn the whole situation before you report on it and cash in on the current-ness of it.
