Sure some techniques may help, but every actual martial arts instructor that's legit will tell you 'There is no technique that will 100 percent stop a person holding a gun.'
I've been teaching hand to hand combat to special forces soldiers here in Afrika for 5 years, the one thing I can say about this self defense guru is that the techniques he is teaching are applicable only when a victim believes or is sure that the people or person who had them at gunpoint is going to kill them and is in proximity to for the techniques to work, his techniques are a last ditch move. However, in reality his techniques are useless in most fluid situations, man gun attackers stand at a distance that makes it difficult to react with these techniques, ducking and getting out of the line of attack sight is more applicable, at least you could catch fewer bullets or they miss and you get out of there, other than that, if fear overwhelms you, then comply with the gunman.
