    Darrell Hammond is an extremely brave and courageous guy. I have tremendous respect and admiration for him. I hope he can fully recover from this.

    Emotional trauma is such heavy baggage to carry around all day , everyday it get’s heavier and everyday you weaker until you treat what’s destroyed u.

      @JasonGafar 4 года назад +3

      Exactly. You have to treat it as soon as possible. It only worsens over time if left unaddressed.

      Most of societies issues come from people with unresolved childhood issues. Like Darrel Hammond said his mothers unresolved issues caused her to abuse him probably because she got abused. Addictions are usually symptoms of unresolved issues that cause the burden of unexpressed grief. I'm glad he is speaking out about it and maybe getting others to seek help.

    As an incest survivor I find comfort in knowing someone so great can go through all these terrible emotions and even find his way out on the end bettering the world. This guy builds playgrounds for kids now what a great guy. My favorite thing he's said on the matter is "I was diagnosed with it all schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder, mania but in reality these were all just labels for a victim of trauma" so well put and yes I'm paraphrasing.

    I had a horrible childhood just like Hammonds, but I haven’t and will not forgive my mom. I don’t understand this stupid line of thinking that we have to forgive our parents.

    • @ShipFantastic
      @ShipFantastic 4 года назад +4

      To me it's not about necessarily forgiving them but it's almost forgiving yourself for not being " good enough ". If you were good enough they would have loved you and not hurt you. By forgiving them you can move past what they did to you. I forgave the trauma so I can stop reliving those feelings but I don't forget.
      This is all just me though. I can totally understand where you are coming from. 💗 Hope you have peace.

      Your not doing it for them your doing it for you. The resentment eats us up inside. A saying I heard goes it's like taking poison and expecting the other person to die. We have to work on our issues. Either we deal with them or they will deal with us. Darrel Hammond is an example of acting his issues out with self destructive behaviors like drugs, alcohol, depression and cutting until he got help to heal. I'm still working on it and grateful to have the opportunity, instead of being self-destructive.

      I can’t understand that either. Don’t know if it’s stupid or extremely strong.

    Proof that the funniest people become the funniest people because they need to feel loved and approves of as they aren’t getting either in their alone time. So glad he is still with us, just shows that reaching out to everyone you know and love and letting them know you have their back is never not a good idea.

    Thanks Darrell for telling my story, your mom and mine must have come from the same momma factory,, my mother use to beat me beat me on Saturday then put on her Sunday dress and go to church on Sunday singing about loving God. Thanks Darrel for telling your story and coming out of the darkness and silence.

    I have no idea of what a tragic beginning Darrell Hammond had and how he finally was able to discover and understand how to deal with the trauma of his childhood. Your childhood is your foundation , it is amazing he is still here to educate us. Thank you for sharing.

    He says he didn’t break any laws but in his book, he talks about being a cocaine and crack addict. Seems like you might break some laws there. Regardless, I hope this story helps people and that he’s doing well.

    I'm amazed this man played all those roles considering what he went through. He clearly looks deeply psychologically distraught, which is normal, given the horror he innocently went through.

    His mother didn’t know he would become famous and tell the world one day what she did. I’m sure he’s helped more people than he realizes. In the documentary, it’s made known that she sees the article in the paper and gets angry, sweet revenge for us as an audience. I feel that’s not why he publicly “let the cat out of the bag.”

    Good Ole Dr. Drew...familiar with abuse on another level. He HIMSELF has been accused of abusing people in a similar manner. How fitting for him to be speaking to someone who is the living result of such abuse. CHARLES PEARSON STARCASM. look it up - Dr. Drew's accuser wrote 5 pages on it...

    @EsotericKitten2 I am a HUGE fan of your work, EK. I have read what you wrote many times over, and I agree with you. The thing I don't understand is this: why doesn't anyone see what Dr. Drew doesn't do? He is a horrible doctor, who strikes out more than not. His celebrity rehab is a joke. Most everyone who was under his spell have been rehabbed yet again, or dead. He is just another handler. Not worth the trouble, and thank you for mentioning CPS. Very good read. KEEP POSTING EVERYDAY EK!!!

      this exact point is addressed in the special on netflix. Young children who are not abused do not make up horrifying stories of abuse.

      Sure, he cut himself 50 times for no reason at all. smh Grow a heart. There is always some evil person who says survivors are liars. If he were still a child you would let him suffer rather than believe.
