I’ve been doing beadwork for years. Even taken first place in the Arizona State Fair for a Malachite and gold hatband. But I want to make some beaded horse reins with the beadwork sewn to the leather, like on a belt. I would like to know if I should buy some plain leather reins and attach the strip of beadwork to them and, how much length should be beaded to leave enough for holding and maneuvering the horse. I’m thinking the total overall length should be 8 feet. Can you give me any info or suggestions, please? I would also like to bead a bridle and brow band to match, but I would need a lot more research and help for all of it. Best to start with the reins, right? Thank you in advance.
