What increments do you put the tape on the solid rein vs. tape on the split reins? You mentioned half way mark of split rein to know where they are in the middle. Is the first tape mark half of this? Also, I bought your training halter and single rein and feel the rein is too thick for my hands. What diameter is the single rein you sell with your halter?
The problem with loop reins is riders that are inexperienced and the rider leans forward or braces against the rein. I think it best to learn how to manage split reins properly. Roping or barrel racing are two exceptions.
