This is great! I always used to have my lead rope come untied when trying to use it as reins - great video on tying, even if you don't use a mecate! Just shortened my access reins, and added a regular lead rope for my "mecate" lead line. Thanks for saving me $80!
Howdy 3:10 ranch Please ask me Can the quarter horses, paint horses, appaloosas do good work ranch in hot and cold places with rough country like Southwest and northwest usa and Canadá and México? Please talk to me about this
Austin Hickey you ease them into it, at first they wouldn’t know what you’re asking for but they will soon. you can start by using a hackamore/bitless bridle under a bridle :)
We know there is always more than one way to do things. This is what we get a long with well and have had many requests to show how we tie it. Thanks for watching.

Is there a certain type of rope that you use for that or is that just ordinary rope
We use Yacht rope for ours but people use different things! We see the macates we use at 310ranchlife.com
@@310RanchLife what is the overall length of that rope
@@jonaswurtz1979 we sell them in a 22’ and 18’ we personally use 18’ ourselves but a lot of people like a 22’
@@310RanchLife Ok thanks
I have been told to undo the mecate from the rope halter or bosal when finished with the ride. Store them separate.
What size rope??
How do you train your horse to respond to a halter with no bit?

All pressure and release!
There is a much easier way of creating reins from a lead rope for the attachment to the rope halter.
