So many great images, but the day 11 image of the leaf in the snow was outstanding. The warm colour of the leaf against the cold snow with its icy texture, and the minimalist composition were exceptional. I really liked the hint of landscapes or seascapes to come (with or without a tripod). Thank you, Kim.
Well done indeed, Kim. You did it! Thanks for all the beautiful images and all the thoughts and feelings that went with each one. You truly do live in a beautiful area too, so nice to be able to see the varied locations you visited. Thank you for sharing your January journey.
It's one thing doing a photo a day, but to video yourself doing it and edit it all together is a truly massive job. Chapeau! You're definitely getting your money's worth from that wee DJI camera, the videos you're making with it are truly superb. Inspirational stuff!
Thank you, Graham! I am really enjoying using the DJI! It was quite a bit of exercise, but for me, the video brought it all together. I couldn't have done it without it. Great to hear you enjoyed it 😁🙏
I was just about to write the same thing , I started at my local beach here in South Carolina and got some good shots and some not so good but had a great day hope yours too. Thanks Kim for a magnificent month of photos.
Kim, loved this video! Love seeing you out enjoying your photography. In 2010 we were dealing with caregiving duties (shared with other family members) for my husbands father. Charles, my husband, had the nighttime shift and my duty was to be the "breadwinner" and he put his construction company on hold. We also have a farm so he had plenty to do and he did have time to do some small projects. I had just read an article about helping with creativity by doing a "photo a day" project for a year. I thought I couldn't possibly do that but I decided to take the time when Charles walked down to his Mom's house to begin his night shift until he returned the next morning and I headed off to my work as a CPA with my own business to do just that! Work on my creativity. Given we both were putting in long days and never saw each other for very long having this goal of taking a photo every day was just what I needed to motivate me to get out after we had dinner and get a shot. I chose to do it with my iPhone as I knew i would have it with me and if something popped up going back and forth to work I could easily use my iPhone. Well, It was quite the challenge but as each day passed it was so much fun. And it was definitely helping my creativity. It pushed me to look for photos where I was sure there wasn't anything worth shooting! And after it ended I could see a definite improvement in the creativity in my photography. Thanks Kim for reminding me of that journey. I always look forward to your journey to take photos that inspire you and bring you peace as well. Hugs, Donna
This is so wonderful to hear Donna! I was thinking of the 365 challenge when I was making this. It is quite an undertaking! Wonderful to hear you managed it and saw an improvement in your mood and creativity as you did so. Appreciate you sharing ☺️🙏
Your a Gem! Love this challenge video! The cold of winter wears on me terribly. Yearning for Spring grows and grows each passing day... Watching this a put a spark back into my step and I'll venture out with the inspirations this video has handed me. Cheers!
This is so lovely to hear Earl! May you enjoy venturing out. Spring isn't too far away now but I hope you can find some joy in what you find in the remains of winter ☺️🙏
The Day 13 moon in the tree branches shot is remarkable for the optical illusion as well as the usual sorts of composition and mood elements. The moon seems to be IN FRONT of some of the branches. I don’t know if my eyes simply saw this wrong, or whether this is a “trick” of the wide aperture, light geometry, and optical physics. In any event, wonderful 30 day video. And I hope your labors produce lots of hits and other revenue streams. 🙂 😊
I enjoyed that, interesting to hear your reflections, on the process and what you see. I started this very way, in January 2022 , and just carried on, its now now more than a 1000 days later. Be warned its adictive, great fun, and makes you get out and do something, never mind how much your head says, no dont.
That looked like a great challenge Kim. Your alien tree reminded me of a Picasso painting with those offset eyes! Good to see you enjoying yourself in the countryside.
Thanks Kim for the great video with remarkable results...long video so I had to break it into two viewings....love the pics you captured.... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Hi Kim, first thanks for making this video and allowing us to go along with you, the church steeples are amazing. Yes, doing what we love or being in a place that we love, does make us feel alive, and we should get into that area as often as we can. All of your sunday videos are amazing, and you are so inspiring. thank you so much for making this and every sunday morning, special. Take care, stay safe, and have a blessed upcoming week.
Thanks for making this one. It’s also cold here in Canada during the winter months 🇨🇦❄️, and as a result I tend not to head out as much. Plus, I’ve always felt it’s harder to find good photos in all the gloomy weasther. This gives me a bit of inspiration to make the time and go for it. 👍
It's great to hear the video has brought you inspiration. The gloomy weather certainly can make things less inspiring. There's always something to find if we look close enough. Enjoy 😁
Your photograph should be in the dictionary next to “indefatigable”, Kim! What a terrific project, and well executed! Thank you Kim, and here’s to a Fabulous February! 💕
Haha - thanks, Steve! The irony is - I am regularity tired! Going out with my canera every day gave me energy and joy, though. Wishing you a great February too ☺️🙏
Very interesting and varied watch! As Jack London said: "You can't wait for inspiration; you have to go after it with a club." Sometimes we just have to kick ourselves to get out there (I'm working on it ...) Living in an old building with thin ceilings with some not particularly light-footed young people above me it absolutely saved my sanity when I discovered these pliable foamrubber ear-plugs originally made as hearing protection for industrial and construction workers. I use Moldex 7800 "Spark Plugs", and I could sleep right at a party wearing those I believe. And there is this interesting paradoxon in perceived time: If you're bored out of your mind time doesn't seem to pass at all, while it's well known time flies if you're having fun. But the former makes very little memories, while the latter leaves a lot of impressions - so in hindsight the boring time almost vanishes, seems to have gone in a blink, while that filled with experiences persists.
Fabulous! You have so many lovely places to feel inspired by. Truly admire your enthusiasm and commitment. Would be lovely to see all the images together in collages on IG.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences here Kim. This video inevitably brought back memories of me doing a “Project 365” and that must have been 15 years ago now. Some of my photos during that project were truly desperate 😂, but you achieved a really high standard throughout. I particularly liked the rain drops forming rings of ripples on the icy lake and the shell you found… and yes, the ducks! Of course the ducks - they always make me smile 😊 Most importantly you demonstrated the joy you found in your photography and in getting out into the world and nature. A huge sensation of positivity flowed out of watching this video and my goodness, I needed that. I think I might have a go at a photo a day for a month myself. I think the year long project was just too crazy and desperate for me to repeat it at the moment - I want to be alleviating stress, not creating more of it. I am currently working on a long term photo project inspired by a favourite album and need to buckle down and finish that one off.
Thank you for sharing. Yes - I can see how the year-long project could be a lot to undertake! I was thinking of the 365 project when doing this challenge. I don't think I could do it for that long, but felt a month was doable. I wish you all the best with finishing your long-term project. Thank you for watching. It's great to hear you found the video uplifting ☺️🙏
funny -10°C, today was our warmest temperature in 3 days and that stands at -28.2°C. On the weekend with wind windchill was -45°C. One year I did a picture every day!
Awesome exercize! Thank you so much for sharing your results with us. I love to create images of the moon. I caught an image of it in waxing crescent with venus last night. I tagged you im it on Instagram.
You're welcome, Jon. It's lovely to hear you enjoy photographing the moon. It certainly does make a great subject. Unfortunately, I've not seen your Instagram post. I don't get notified when I'm tagged in things got some reason 🤔 may need to look into the settings
I never come home without a photo. I shoot anything. Landscape, critters, micro whatever, person walkind dog. shooting one kind of photography is boring to me.

and the capture of whites and near whites and blues in the visible textures of the snow. 🙂
When I I shooting film. I would shoot 36 exposure at 36 different places. Would just drive around all day to find then . A lot of fun
Sounds great fun Douglas 😁
So brilliant of you Kim to make it a point to take images every day, and to share them. The day 4 and 5 images are gorgeous.
Thank you Alex. Great to hear which images you liked the most.
Thank you Kim, such brilliant inspiration and really pleased to hear enthusiasm in your voice on some of the images. Have a great week
Great to hear you enjoyed the video. Thank you for your kind words and for watching ☺️🙏

I loved this video! Seeing your joy from going out with your camera everyday was so inspiring. I especially loved the images that you made with ICM!

Greatest ideas for improve and amazing landscapes
I’m watching this while we are going through a heat wave. It’s 40+ here in South Australia. I need to do some of this for my mental health. Thank you

Brilliant challenge and fascinating to see the contrast in weather between our areas. We had majority days of gray skies and rain ❤
Thank you, May. It's amazing how the weather varies in Scotland! Just 10mins down the road and it can be completely different.

Great video, interesting images, lost count on the different hats and coats though, thought at one time perhaps we were going to get 31 of each!😂
😂😂😂 I do love my hats and coats
Slow starts let you build to a crescendo.
An image of the tower would have looked good
Yes! It makes a great subject 😁
Beautiful images Kim.

Danke für schöne Fotos. Darf Ich wissen welche Kamera und Lens haben sie benutz?
Danke
David aus Frankfurt Germany
Thank you, David. I used the Nikon Z7II. Lenses were a mix of 24-200mm, 105mm MC and 100-400mm, all Nikkor Z lenses.
I never come home without a photo. I shoot anything. Landscape, critters, micro whatever, person walkind dog. shooting one kind of photography is boring to me.
It's great to hear you find many things to photograph 😊🙏
