Soooooo glad I remembered to watch. I'm 58 year old male with poor circulation. As a wildlife photographer, I'm in very cold conditions. My fingertips suffer. I will be purchasing. I believe I asked you before Scott as someone that has never tried editing. What is a good one to go with? I'm mainly concerned with noise and like sharpening. Thanks Scott! Keep up the great and always well detailed videos.
Your videos are such a joy on many levels. Thank you for sharing, and I'm sorry for the recent loss of your valuable gear.
Thank you for the kind words!
As someone mentioned....The Heat Company....I've had a pair for 10+ years...with the liner glove...while not perfect, with index finger and thumb suffering the most, but with 1-2 rechargeable heaters jammed in, works pretty good to offset cold...at minus 20C
Thanks for the tip!
Very timely, I'm heading to Sax-Zim in a few days where the temp will be between 0 and 15 degrees F. I just got my gloves today using your Amazon link. I don't know if they will keep my hands warm, but they feel warmer than any glove I've tried so far. Seem to be very well made.
Thank you for the information. I would probably have considered ordering the rolling case you did in another video, but they couldn't get it to me in time for my trip.
The thing I thought was nice is they are an even warm, not a hot in one spot like a lot of heated gear. Hope you enjoy them and get some good shots.
@@WILDALASKA Only negative so far, you can't get a second set of batteries. The batteries won't last for an entire days outing.
@@robertpanick2660 I ran mine for almost 3 outings before they poofed on me. Short days here in winter though
@ Not all of us live near the Artic circle :) Days here in Colorado are a tad bit longer, around 9 to 10 hours.
Gotta love Sundays ! Well timed Scott. as it is -26C (-14.8F) here in Central Alberta today !!
ouch. We are positive today 11° F.
So glad I found the channel. New subscriber. Have you ever done a video that talks about the extreme temps and protecting your gear going in and out of the cold? Any new gear vs just leaving in bag and slowly acclimating? I am planning a trip to Alaska and I know temps vary depending on season but besides my hands I worry about the lenses and camera gear.
Yes. check for videos from last winter
Try putting on a pair of latex gloves and your heated gloves it makes a huge difference. Great video!
👍
Very timely topic! Great to see you and Cassie team up, again. I pray that you will be able to replace all that stolen gear, soon!
Thanks
Great vlog
thx
Scott a video i needed to watch I' m on blood thinners after my open heart surgery last June my fingers tips turn blue in 40° weather so i needed help on gloves that work for photography
I feel you. Since the heart attack and having ti take all these heart meds my hands get cold a LOT faster. So these gloves were a very refreshing find.
Here in Ontario Canada my best combo for gloves are merino liners + puffy mittens! Great video as always :)
That's kind of what I used on Aurora or ice fishing. These now are replacing that which is nice.
I'm glad you like 'em. You need them. $130 sounds very expensive, but I live in Hawaii, so not a problem for me!
Worth it to keep those hands warm.
Might have to get a pair for next year. I have the regular not mitten version. They’re great, but not warm for probably anything under 25f
👍
Keeping fingers warm is a big challenge. I have a couple of pairs of gloves I like, though neither pair are heated or work in extremely cold weather. There is a fine line between keeping you hand warm and making your hand sweaty, which makes it get cold faster.
I don't use Amazon anymore, do you have referral links with Adorma or B&H?

The Heat Company. They make only gloves. For civils, but for army too. And for winter sports, professional.
👍
I didn't see anything in your link about extra batteries.
I don't have any info on extra batteries myself. My pair made 3 trips out before they got low. Cassies was dead on one glove because I had left it on a couple weeks earlier and hands recharged the battery.
Pairing this with a good heated jacket would be perfect. Overheat that core so your body starts trying to cool itself by pumping blood to the hands and feet. So long as your core's cold these gloves/mittens are fighting an uphill battle for warmth. Heated jackets are pretty amazing when your not moving much, as are gloves like this.
Goof info
I picked up a pair of Pro Masters with the magnetic fingers and they help but if it's under 25F with a wind my hands still freeze up. Will have to give these PGYs and others mentioned in the comments a good look.
👍
These gloves look promising. Are extra batteries expensive?
I am not sure about extra batteries. I am not finding any info on them. They last for a long time. I had left Cassies left glove on from testing a few weeks before I passed them on to her. I was out 3 trips before mine got low.
Here’s something to go on the new gloves. Sorry everything got stolen. 😡
THANK YOU!
I really like Scott’s videos. But being from south Florida I just don’t have much to add. I get annoyed when I have to reach for my jacket.
Thanks 😂
I live about 25 miles north of Fairbanks in the White Mountains where recently the night time temperature was a -24F and the high for the following day was a -19F. So, I was really interested in your video when I saw the title "Heated Gloves That Keep You Shooting in the Cold!". I did not realize that you would not start talking specifically about the pros and cons of these gloves until approximately 1/3 of the way into the video. However, I assume that you (justifiably) did this to show non-Alaskans some of the scenic beauty of our state.
Once you finally did start the glove review, I immediately checked them out on Amazon and noted that they only have 5 ratings with 4 reviews and an overall rating of 3.8 out of 5 stars. Of the 4 reviews, only 1 gave this product a 5-star rating with other 3 ratings being from 2-4 stars. Regarding those 3-ratings, 2 talk about these gloves being a very tight fit (i.e., running on the small size), and that the battery has a tendency to fall out of its tight storage pocket because of the difficulty of securing the hook & loop (Velcro?) closure. The most detailed review is given by a person with the ID of "STLCardinalFan", and it is this person gives the gloves a 2-star rating. Overall, just based on the reviews of this product, I would be very hesitant about spending $129.95 (USD) for this product.
This is especially true since I am 6'6" tall and have large hands. Even after making the suggested measurements to determine the size of the glove needed (which is the maximum XL size), the PGYTECH XL glove would, if it was an actual/accurate XL size, would be a tight fit. The fact that reviewers are stating that these gloves are small for the size ordered would move this product from the "hesitant to buy" category into "this is a deal breaker" category.
Thanks for the info. Ya I don't do here just the info you need and nothing else. We usually discuss the subject, try to mention every detail and show you Alaska (cause as you know, we live in an amazing place 😁🏔️). Pros and Cons are usually towards the end of the video always. We just got that cold snap this week of a few - temps here in Los Anchorage :P.
BUT, I stated pretty clearly that they are on the small size. I wear a L to XL in most gloves and the L was too small and the XL fit more like an L sized glove here in the US.
As far as battery coming out, it is hard to even get out so that claim by whoever was not correct. We constantly struggled to get it out as it's a snug fit. You are going to find most reviews are negative. And the product is fairly new.
The gloves are very good. And I'm very particular on gloves. BUT like I said in the video several times they are on the small size so use the chart.
Hey do the girls have a channel? Or some way to look at their pictures.
