I love how an introvert, woman that is a very good teacher, found a way to teach and share her skills, without having to bump into the part of getting confronted with people every day.
I find it very inspiring as an introvert myself❤ thank you❤

"Winter reveals what Summer hides", so true. Do you ever notice the bird nests that Winter reveals? Then try and find these same birds nest in the Summer? Just say'n lol, great video as always!

Courtney, you should get a tripod clamp attachment for a spare tripod, so that when you come across loose oddities like that hair ice branch, you can have a rock solid tripod and clamp to grab ahold of that branch, keep it steady to do a macro focus stack of. Being able to hold up said object allows you to get more subject separation for shallow depth of field as you know all to well.l

In the Forest of Dean, with its leafless attire,
a stark, quiet beauty that will surely inspire.
You frame the emptiness, the quiet, the space,
finding endless poetry in a bleak desolate place.
Though twisted and gnarly, your lens takes its stand,
turning those barren branches into an art so grand.
Uplifted and impassioned, through your beautiful eyes,
of a bare forest stretching, beneath the grey winter skies.
Time to say goodbye, to an old trusty friend,
your Nikon D750, with its journey at an end.
Embracing the future, where new stories begin,
now a "Micro Four Nerd", Emily says with a grin.
Thank You for your words during my time of grief,
just knowing I was in your thoughts, was a loving relief.
So in this world of stillness, your message surely extends,
To lift up and inspire, your kindly poetic friend.

I would name it 'cast off'. I can see by the images the winter woodland has a different feel, its sleeping. although life is still going on around, the trees are at rest. what I like most is when most are looking out of the window thinking not today, your out seeing the landscape in a different light (or rain). thanks for the vid.

Hey Courtney. Thanks for (finishing) the video, and glad you are safe.
I like to visit and photograph rocky outcrops in the wintertime - the contrast in warm/cold tones with wet/dry rock and then green/grey mosses and moulds is really nice. Sometimes there is an extra splash of colour eg winter berries that is abnormal.

That last tree shot with the D750 could be appropriately named “Down But Not Out” it describes the tree, also the D750.

  • @Algorythmfpv
    @Algorythmfpv 20 часов назад +1

See when you saw the tree you thought "villain" and I thought "fallen hero" and by combining what you saw with what I saw it turned it into the dichotomy of when a hero becomes the villain. Or even more the old saying "you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain". A lot of thought for a single fallen tree. That's why art is so beautiful and why we need everyone's input to help build on what we can see and take from it.

    Hey Courtney,
long live us anti-social bods is what I say. Don't get me wrong I am happy to tap away here but meeting people does cause huge anxiety levels, hence my need to get up in the very early hours to work on my allotments or like you finding a very large space/woodland to just enjoy the place to yourself and nature. Sadly though I don't do the little dance in real life, more often am falling over and swearing to myself. But your dance made me smile immediately, so thank you.
I do love the backlit mushroom shot and "Reign". I didn't mind the large branch you cloned out but I agree it helps with the balance. The wonders of software and a user that is accomplished in how you use it.
Have to say my head has been all over the place this weekend, but having just watched your video it has calmed down a tad, so thank you.

It’s funny that you’re saying goodbye to your D750 while I just welcomed the D750 to my camera bag not too long ago. I bought it to replace the D610 I have been using the past couple of years both of which that I purchased from MPB. I been using them before I stumbled onto your channel a couple of years back, matter of fact, you’re the reason why I got the D750 in the first place. Keep up the great work that you do both with your videos and photography.

13:20 I kind of see two things. One is if a portal that tiny people have to climb into, starting their journey from the fallen branch. So maybe call it “portal”?
But also, I see a tree hanging on after catastrophe. Like it’s falling and using its hand to claw at the dirt, exposing itself in its final act? So maybe call it “the reach” or “quiet desperation” or “the prayer of the fallen”? “The heart of desperation”?
You could just call it “unmade”, because it’s not a tree like it used to be, and because it’s unknown what caused it, “unmade by unnamed”?

Great video. I too enjoy photographing mushrooms. I took 35 shots of one group of small mushrooms recently growing inside a rotting out log. Like one of your photos there were two small groups separated by a few inches. I used the focus shift on my D850 but the smaller mushrooms off to one side weren’t in focus. I thought I focused on the larger group which was closer. My question is, where should I focus with the first shot to get both groups in focus. Keep up the great videos.

I too mainly use a D850 for all my creative and critical work. I have also been in the market for a second lower resolution DSLR and have my eye on the D750 but also the D780, and being that the D780 is more closely in line with the D850 in controls and imaging, with 4k video if I need, I'm kind of leaning that way. I want to minimize my collection to one mount system being I have a history of F lenses dating back to the 70s and it seems the D780 would be the proper little brother to my D850... but then for daily carry/street shooting and my old Ai-S, Pre-Ai and D lenses I also have had my eye on the Df for years now, it's a nod or a return to my FE and F2 days where manual and a slower deliberate pace fuels my creativity.
At least six different brands and systems are currently in my possession for different reasons and these days they are not being used anymore as they should be, which is why as I get older I find that going back to mainly one system, a camera or two is what will get me out shooting more as it did when I first started with one or two film nikons. I found over the years where I thought all these different cameras will cover all I need but in reality it is more distracting.
I think we all fall in that same trap these days and somehow have to face reality that what little we started with is really all we need.
