Some additional context is that bad boy ent was killing the game with remixes to their popular songs, that often gave an entirely different feel to the song. So, Tupac jumped on a popular junior mafia beat for this track and flipped the _"get money"_ to "_take money"_ as well as flipping a few other popular phrases used by bad boy in this song. I didn’t listen to this track till 2008, when everyone started listening to Pac in NY
I feel like dads perception of pac might change with this one😔hope he can see past it which I'm sure he can. If you understand the context then it's hard to judge the man who thought the world was against him. Still a heck of an artist and human being,
I was afraid of that as well, but i think dad has an understanding about tupac. I hope at some point kai will show dad tupacs old interviews. Dad will understand so much more.
It rightly should change, Tupac is another cultural figure that is praised when he was rapist and was involved in a shooting that ended up with a dead child
This track and a lot of things about it are his truth. Tupac, it's all about his emotions sometimes. This track is just pure emotion. If you listen he even says in the track, "It was just between me and Biggie, but no, when I got out everyone had to have their opinions..." it's at the end when he is talking. That is the moment it was no longer a Public Relations scheme and this was real beef. Everyone had an opinion and this could have been kept personal. Essentially what Tupac said. I don't care when Biggie wrote the track, as I am a fan of his music as well. But, Diddy released it at the absolute wrong moment. He knew better. Unfortunately, the perpetual beef became real and now trickled down into gangs, etc. I was alive and listened to this song when it came out. It was just blunt and in your face. But, a lot of people made things bigger than they were. Yes, They were friends before Dad. As I look back, I feel so sad that we lost two legends in the game over money and PR stunts, no one knew when to stop and anyone could be killed. Suge Knight is a true sociopath. Diddy ain't soft either, people think he is, but he never talks about this song. The Game and Eminem are the only people who said Diddy did it publicly and so did Rick Ross. BTW, not saying he did. I have no idea who shot either one of them. Anyway, it's neither here nor there, because by the end when Biggie got shot, and died, it was horrible. We lost two of the greatest rappers to ever touch a mic back to back. Everyone lost. It all just started as a storyline for some money being made over manufactured beef. It's just no one ever thought it would get this far.
You all should react to Nas One Mic, you all could definitely react to the whole Stillmatic album to analyze Nas' growth. Nas spitting backwards would blow your dad away.
So awesome. Breaking down rap songs with your old dad. Maybe Ill do this with my 13 yr old daughter. But she loves 80s music also. Very organic, I would say. Love the channel.
No vaseline by Ice Cube definitely the greatest diss track ever. Especially with the entire history and all. Maybe y'all should watch the Straight Outta Compton movie and review that sometime
Where “Hail Mary” I see so many reactions to every other song but this one by him. His sound grew and changed throughout his career though it was so short.
There are a few things to add to the explanation to this song. Most of the rappers he and the outlaws were talking about injected themselves in the situation via interviews. "I told you (in interviews) that it's just about Biggie but everybody had to open up their mouth with their m***f** opinion". Outlaws are 2pacs close friends. They're all named after controversial leader. When you asked "who is this guy" his name is EDImin (idi Amin). There also Napoleon, Hussein Fatal, Kadafi etc. West coast style rap has more melodic beats. Biggie raps from his nose and pac raps from his chest.
I was wondering when you were gonna show your dad the other side of tupac. some other recommendations to show him: mobb deep- shook ones and i think biggie's Juicy would be a great one to reflect upon.
It's funny because when I was younger I had the opposite reaction to biggies voice and 2pac's voice. I always though 2pac sounded tough and biggie just sounded smooth and laid back
The idols you will take as an example in your life are not Tupac or Biggie, but your father, son, who raised you by living an honorable and decent life in the difficult conditions of today's America and helped you reach this age.
When I hear a distract, this is the level of anger I want to hear. There’s so much genuine anger in his tone, and makes the diss track that much better.

E.1999, Doggystyle and The Chronic please. Your dad is missing out on some funky OG stuff! He was feeling "regulate" so much already, it's a must.
Definitely! Can't wait for those
Yes! I’ve been saying E.1999 for a while now
“Wanna be a Baller” by Lil Troy and “Juicy” by Biggie Smalls. Those tracks are phenomenal.
Had to come back after your dad was repping Pac on Not Like Us
This track and a lot of things about it are his truth.
I came from turning the tables channel and I think this is becoming one of my favorite video format
Pac definitely was a man of many layers.
If not said in comments, this beat was also a great sample by Dennis Edwards "Don't Look Any Further" an ex member from the Temptations.
You all should react to Nas One Mic, you all could definitely react to the whole Stillmatic album to analyze Nas' growth. Nas spitting backwards would blow your dad away.
You are brave to have him react to this. This was my songs before every basketball game.
I think the Rory and Mal podcast gave you guys a shoutout on this week’s pod
bro the line 5 shots couldn't drop me i took and smiled is the best line ever
fell in love with this duo , now Im like 20 videos in and now the kid is wearing my fav soccer team jersey .
U two make my life complete. Keep going.
Thanks, Felix!

Shout out to your dad, for being open minded to this.
So awesome. Breaking down rap songs with your old dad. Maybe Ill do this with my 13 yr old daughter. But she loves 80s music also. Very organic, I would say. Love the channel.
Simplesmente o maior rapper que existiu 🙌👊🏻forever

You should listen to Jay-Z's "Takeover" and Nas' "Ether", as the latter is arguably seen as the best diss track ever, even better than "Hit Em Up".
Hmm, that sound like a good suggestion - Kai’s dad
Ether is insane also got urself a gun is nice
@@frontroom Eazy E - Real muthapuccin G’s
Forgot to mention super ugly.
No vaseline by Ice Cube definitely the greatest diss track ever. Especially with the entire history and all. Maybe y'all should watch the Straight Outta Compton movie and review that sometime
First time hearing this song. What an elegant F**k You. Tupac's rage is in the lyrics. His voice delivers their harsh accuracy with beauty.
That beat was sampled a few times by different rappers. From one of the singers from the legendary group the temptations
We need a mobb deep reacation
I was wondering when you were gonna show your dad the other side of tupac. some other recommendations to show him: mobb deep- shook ones and i think biggie's Juicy would be a great one to reflect upon.
Yes. Juicy is a must
Agree.. Juicy is one of greatest Rap song ever.
@@hto8010 the ultimate rags to riches song
Luv shook ones mobb deep
You played dad all the classic tupac songs then rocked him with hit em up 😂 love it! Would love to see his reaction to ice cube - no vaseline!
It's funny because when I was younger I had the opposite reaction to biggies voice and 2pac's voice. I always though 2pac sounded tough and biggie just sounded smooth and laid back
A big piece missing about the beat is that it was a diss track made from the same track as Junior Mafia's "Get Money" song.
i'm just watching this video cuz of that fucking ATLÉTICO MINEIRO shirt, good taste indeed
The idols you will take as an example in your life are not Tupac or Biggie, but your father, son, who raised you by living an honorable and decent life in the difficult conditions of today's America and helped you reach this age.
This the first time I heard someone say that 2pacs voice isn’t intimidating
Out of nowhere, an Atlético Mineiro shirt, a hug from Brazil bro
When I hear a distract, this is the level of anger I want to hear. There’s so much genuine anger in his tone, and makes the diss track that much better.
The way dad describes the song and Tupac aswell is top class
My daughter’s reaction was insane when I showed her this dis track vs Kendrick’s “Not Like Us”. Priceless.
MELHOR RAPPER TUPAC
MELHOR TIME: ATLÉTICO MINEIRO
