Afia, I really admire your work. As someone who has married into the culture, I have learned so much from you about cooking and the rich food history of Ghana. My Ashanti husband loves the food grew up eating and thanks to you i have been able to enjoy their vegan versions.

This is wonderful, thank you for bringing us along for this amazing learning. The intertwining of food and medicine/food as medicine is such a wealth for people.

Thanks for sharing... I feel like there's somonthing to be said about indigenous African ppl participating in these important culinary "workshops" as a tourists/foreigners - are some of us (especially the "civilised/modern" amongst us becoming foreigners on our own land?). Prior to post-mordernism, these knowledge systems were passed down generationally via the women and elders in the family. I believe the Baby Boomer/Silent generation broke that cycle? They are the col0nial baby generation afterall - the generation that swallowed the "civilization pill" without much thought.
Very soon, if care isn't taken, other ppl will be teaching us our oen native languages, spirituality etc. Thanks for sharing and although I know your audience are diverse, I genuinely hope more Africans take an interest in their own indigenous cultures, rather than the ongoing obsession with imitating other groups.
