      I wouldn't classify the Griot's G8 as a nano polisher although it is a SMALL 3 inch plate polisher which helps with tighter areas that a 5" inch or 6" inch polisher has difficulty getting into. It's also corded where as all the nano polishers are CORDLESS. But it is a good "budget" minded small polisher for those just getting into higher levels of detailing and it's a good starting point for the smaller polishers. Another company called SPTA on Amazon has a very similar unit to the Carbon Collective for only $199. YEP, $199 and it includes everything that Carbon Collective includes (minus the extensions). They look literally almost IDENTICAL so my guess is that SPTA probably makes the Carbon Collective unit for them. So for those who want a most cost effective unit to the Carbon Collective Unit, check out this one: www.amazon.com/SPTA-Cordless-Polisher-Scratches-polishing/dp/B08CTVQ35X/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=nano+polisher&qid=1619410163&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyNVFORFRTR0NWTTNBJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTQwMzM2MlMyUk80TVcxODBCNiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjgwMzUyMjhUTUxWVlNBNUFPVSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

      @@djlazarek5830 Even better. Buy the SPTA version and save about $100! I thought they might be made by the same parent company. I absolutely love my larger SPTA 5" 15mm long throw (newest version) cordless polisher which looks almost identical to a Flex machine which they most likely reverse engineered. Very smooth machine and top notch for the money. The accessories they send with it are crap and go right into the trash can but the machine itself is WELL worth it! I think whomever makes SPTA and a few of the other machines as well as many other brands are made by the same manufacturer in China. You can immediately tell it's the same machine when you see different companies selling them and they look identical although might be a different color such as the Carbon Collective Nano. In fact a LOT of polishers of all sizes in detailing now are made in China except the Flex machines and Rupes. I think they probably buy those machines and reverse engineer them. I know people crack on the "off brand" machines but honestly, the SPTA machine are good. I have Makita, three Flex machines and a Metabo 3 inch. Honestly, my new favorite is the SPTA machine! Just an all around fantastic machine and a great value. Anyone just getting into more serious detailing wishing to up their game polishing, you can't go wrong with SPTA machines (Nano, 3 inch, or 15mm throw 5 inch). Buy those three machines and you will probably have everything you will need to tackle even the most unique and curved panels or small spaces! 😁

      It might be very similar. A lot of companies do this. For example, there’s multiple brands of Engine Oil but realistically only 2-3 companies produce said Engine Oil.
      Whatever the case is, it’s worth every penny. Can’t speak for SPTA as I do not own one.

    • @kylejackson1695
      @kylejackson1695 2 года назад

      Yes it is, it’s the exact same machine. Auto brite has one as well. Look at how the power switch turns on from right to left and the speed control has the positive adjustment on the left just like the spta. They’re all the exact same machine. Just different casings and accessories.

  • @joevanseeters2873

    That polisher looks SWEET! Looks like Carbon Collective (or whomever makes it for them, probably someplace in China) took attributes of all three popular nano polishers (Flex PXE80, Rupes iBrid, and Adams Micro Swirl Killer) and put them into one polisher. Some of the parts look very similar to parts on those three polishers. And the fact that it comes WITH the extensions is great! All three of the other ones you need to purchase the extensions separately. I really like that hard case. Keeps everything nice and organized and easy to pull out what you need. My Flex PXE-80 came with a bag, which is fine, but the case is nicer. The only good thing about the Flex case is you can put a lot of stuff in the case including any accessories, polishes, pads, microfibers, everything you need. You are a lucky man to have that polishers. I saw that Jim White over at the White Details channel just got one of these polishers also. He uses the nano polishers extensively in his intricate details. Looking forward to your next videos. I got brought here by searching "Polishing a 370z". I have a 370Z in the same color you polished so I really enjoyed that video. You did a great job on that paint correction and polish on that one. Looked incredible. Hope your new nano polisher serves you well into the future! Looking forward to seeing it in future detailing videos.

    I've got this machine and I love it. It's fantastic. It's very good quality. While the 1-inch backing plate is solid metal, the 2-inch backing plate is plastic. I sheared the plastic thread in the DA attachment, which meant hours of slow, careful drilling of the hole in the attachment to get my DA function back. The thread is still ok. I ended up buying a metal 2 inch backing plate to continue using. It's a 40 minute charge time and a 40 minute work time, which is really good for a power tool.

    I just purchased the ibrid Nano and am starting to wonder if I spent too much money on a polisher. That being said, I have the LHR-15 as well. I am trying to simplify the entire polishing process and I think having a Nano, mini and LHR-15 all from Rupes and using the same pads and polishes are going to be a game-changer for me. Best of luck to you with your choice of polishers. Great video!
