I like this style of Drake, very reminiscent of Argo but with more rough edges. Corsair is nice but to utilitarian and focuses to much on the pews for my taste. Hope to see this “new” style of Drake going forward.
total noob here and about to start this game for the very first time. at this moment the cutter is only 6 dollars difference the nthe titan, is it still the smarter deal? i like exploration and trading more over combat but if i do it would be nice to have a nice edge. any recommendation? at similar prices its a tough call
The titan has a decent amount of cargo space as well but it's lacking on the vehicle carrying capacity. If you are a big explorer/cargo hauler and want to be more survivable and a tad more firepower than the Cutter, the Nomad is also a solid choice.
Buying a package gets you a game and a ship. You can purchase everything in-game but you'll need to buy the game first. It's not a subscription-based game - you buy once and own it
What Ivan Y said. There are "Free Fly" Events where you just need an account to hop in and check out the game. Outside of those event windows, you need to purchase the game, and every game is part of a bundle that includes a specific ship and the game itself, typically starting at $45. There are other "premium" ships, but you can accomplish everything in-game starting with just a base game package.
@@davidlivermore3866 I think that's a personal preference, no? It, by nature, is a crowd funded game, this is how they all work. It's not for everyone. I personally love the game. Sure, bugs are everywhere, but it's a great universe, and I enjoy it. Does that affect you in any way?
@@Shmosess Short term with this game? No, it doesn't affect me. Overall, it affects the development of games. It's justifying games that stay in alpha for years, which may not end up finished. That's happened a lot with Steam early access games.
Since it's cheap, I bought the cutter, and upgraded to the Avenger Titan for $10. It was the only hole in my "fleet", a single seater cargo ship. I have a medium fighter (super hornet), a fast, light fighter, courier, racer (325A), a crew cargo ship (Connie Andromeda), and the A-1 Spirit, just because it's pretty :P
as usual there is no 'the BEST' in SC. It always depends, to do what?! yes cutter price rn is amazing, and if you are planning on upgrading just for the LTI this is the way to go but for new players the ability to squeeze in a rover is useless..to do what?! The best way to get started in SC, making max aUEC for min investment now is definitely the mustang after it finally got its cargo fix. Run some box mission, bounty hunt, clear some bunkers, learn how to take out turrets, 890J mission etc so much easier with mustang. and these 6000 qt fuel is a typo. and those window covers are blinders so that people dont see you when u pull into a spaceport...
"upcoming" No.. you mean fantasy... that new system has been "Just over the hill" for YEARS this game will NEVER succeed. It's a failure, fails in development, fails in company management, fails at budgeting, fails at every single level. it's not a scam mind you, it's just a earnest failure.
Unfortunately, there's no "game" here, so saying this is the "best" starter ship kinda falls flat. Best for what? There's no gameplay loop here, or content to actually utilize any of the traits of the ships. It's all just a big proof of concept, with the actual game to come... someday. Maybe. Probably not.
That's just factually incorrect. There are numerous actual gameplay loops. All ships have completely unique properties and functions that make them excel over others. It also isn't a proof of concept, it's an actual game in actual development, the most transparent one to be quite honest.
Looks like you played once in 2019 and are acting as if they haven’t added anything. Mining, salvaging, new courier missions, drug running / contraband destroying,, bunker missions, bounty hunting etc. are all now Implemented. There are a bunch of gameplay loops working just fine in 3.19 (they’re most stable version ever).

What you have to buy ships with really money? Is there not in game ships?

its a really nice starter, but i think without the discount the avenger is better ^^
Agreed
When does this game launch?
It's available now to play in an alpha state. But you can play everything the game has to offer
Official release is 2300
@@Shmosess How is it acceptable to play/pay for a game in an alpha state? Why is that just okay now?
