Just lost my son to PTSD 3 weeks ago. Left behind a wife and two year old son. I'm so sad that this boy will never know what a man his dad was. We had no clue he was struggling. So please anyone out there who is in this position please reach out!!! Help is there.

These people are all Amazing heroes that we indeed should have more of. True patriots through and through.
I was forced to retire after 20 years in law enforcement due to PTSD ,with no treatment. I self medicatid with alcohol and went through hell until I found a counselor who was also in AA. I finally received treatment for the PTSD using cognitive therapy and now with God's help I'm finally free from the self destructive behavior, nightmares, and all the other things that go with it. Thank you for your service, and for sharing your story.

My war was in South East Asia a long time ago, 50 years ago when I was there. Things get better with time and a lot of help. Thank you Tom for bringing help to those in need of help, and thank you BRCC for spotlighting this outstanding man and his wonderful group. I can't believe 6 thumbs down on this video. Hi I am in the UK, and the stuff over here is lightyears behind the US. Our Government does not recognise TBI, nor fund any investigation or treatment. I have Complex PTSD, Depression, plus I was injured, but its invisible injuries. I wish we had this in the UK. Tom you are amazing, keep it up. I am struggling through this on my own, I dont drink or do drugs, and trying to do it holistically. When I left the army my mum says she is still waiting for her son to come through the door as I am not the same person. You guys in the US are very very lucky people to have Tom on your side.

I go out of my way to shake the hand,limb,or shoulder to thank (with eye contact) anyone that has served and say how much I appreciate their service and take the time to hear a story or 2 if they feel comfortable speaking of these things.
I have only had one soldier that did not,and she had just returned from a second deployment and was restless still about something she said she might not ever speak of....
I run stars and stripes high and proud to show my support all of the 2nd week of Sept. and the whole month of November on at least one of my vehicles and visit as many memorials as possible locally........anybody that has a problem with that,step right up an prepare to find out what fighting for your life is all about......cause weather I take you to the ground or not,I promise you it's not gonna tickle one bit.....

What a fantastic program. And a true gentleman.
I can't believe this video has been up so long and I just found it. If it hadn't been listed with BRCC it seems that I may have never seen it. - I spent 29 years 11 months and 3 days in the Army (all with RDF of one sort or another) and was medically retired 100% disabled for wounds received in combat in 2014. I also have TBI among other wounds from the 120mm mortar that ended my career and am struggling with PTS. Thank God for men like Tom Spooner that help us. many people don't understand what it is that we go through every day just to make it to the next morning and another day to get through. I, thankfully have a very large support group of Veterans in my community and a long line of military in my family that have helped me, but I am one of the few that are this lucky. What Tom has done is the greatest gift that we as soldiers can continue to do for our family of warriors! You are an amazing soldier Tom, you are truly the embodiment of the "tip of the spear" pointing forward and leading us back home.

This man epitomises all that it takes to be a Protector.
His speaking so openly about his own traumatic brain injury and how his life unravelled to the point of considering suicide was very touching and took some courage to do.
His outreach will help reduce the tragic loss of life of soldiers whom survived deployments, only to take their own lives back home.
Likewise, soldiers whom sought solace in drugs and alcohol can help themselves to get free from those self destructive dependencies and try to live free from despair.
This heartfelt, noble venture will have profound effects on those that enter into it's program, and it'll help to give them back as much of their lost self that it's possible to do.
Thank you for your service and sacrifices.

The fact that BRCC is involved in groups like this is a big part of what makes me so glad to support them. Coffee club of the month is the only bill I don't grimace at. I know it means I'm getting a great product and that a portion is going to groups like this. Way to go BRCC! I wish more American companies were like you guys!

He serves the President who's the elected Commander In Chief of the US Forces. Obama made plenty of stupid decisions but as Military members we still followed Orders....
