I was in Mogadishu during this time. It is absolutely stunning to me that this was 30 years ago. I've never forgotten that time spent there, and the years afterwards. From September of 92 to February of 93 I was deployed with 15th MEU in Mogadishu as an encrypted communications and linguistics specialist. I was and am honored to have served with the finest men and women that all of the branches of our military have.
