What I love about this video is that you show your movement on that little screen. You're literally dancing along with the gimbal! I can see how hard you've been studying and practicing your skills! Thank you so much Brandon😄 I always appreciate your work! 👍
Great and complete review Brandon! Was a pleasure to work with you and we had some fun with this gimbal, still a bit sore of the Moza Air 2 workout but I never experienced a steady gimbal like this before 😅😂
This is the BEST explanation for using this Moza Air 2 I have seen! I bought mine last week and really like the creative possibilities for using it. Now I can use it like it was designed to be used. Thank you very much!
Thank you for posting this review, great info / test footage. As you may have heard, the pre-order process with Gudsen has been quite the nightmare. Many are hanging on to hope that the product itself will make up for the poor customer service / pre-order experience. Speaking for myself this review has definitely helped stretch out my patience a little more with Gudsen.
First, compliments. Terrific review and I've visited your web page a few times and you are a true professional who does exceptional work. Now for my experience with the Moza Air 2. I've been using it since it came out well over two years ago. I am now almost a 68 year old DOP, yet I don't have a problem with the weight. That said, I don't shoot with it all day. Even on an all-day shoot, we usually take breaks between shooting b-roll. We may even shot some b-roll, switch to doing interviews, then go back to shooting b-roll. So, that helps. As to the focus, we own the iFocus set-up and I use it all the time. I use peaking, a must when using the focus wheel on the side of the gimbal. We rehearse the gimbal moves which allows me to play with the focus. We also use the Sony 16-35 lens which has no hard stops so it does make focus tricky but most of the time I don't have any problems. If I'm doing a lot of in and out moves, especially somewhat fast ones, I switch to auto focus. On our Sony a7R III, it's pretty good. What I'm having big trouble with is getting the focus wheel on the gimbal and the hand-held focus wheel to both work. I'm working on it. Moza basically says I need to reinstall the firmware on all three units. The thing that really makes me work hard with this gimbal is when my boss, usually the Director on shoot, wants to see what I'm doing live as I do it. In that case I use an ikan two handle unit. The gimbal is attached in the middle. On top of one handle is an Atomos Ninja 5 (which helps with focus) and it's plugged in to a wireless HD transmitter attached to the top of the other handle. Talk about heavy!!! In that case we keep the moves short and only do a few at a time. No, we can't afford a Steadicam type rig or something similar. But overall we love this gimbal. It has served us well.
It is really helpful to see how you actually move to get these shots. Maybe it sounds strange but there is quite a bit of a learning curve to it. Learning how to control the gimbal to get the correct shots isn't easy. I think that's something you do really well. You've learned how to get really good angles.
To remember how many presses for each axis I just think about the alphabetical order of the words Pan, Roll and Tilt. P for Pan comes first in the alphabet so it's (1 press), R for Roll comes second so it's(2 presses), then T for Tilt comes third so it's(3 presses).
Because of your videos I get into videography . Much appreciate . Btw moza air should pay you for this video cause is best them what they did of own product
You are the reason I picked up the first moza air and now this! I was looking at going to the ronin but wanted to wait a bit and im glad i did as i have absolutely loved my first moza.
same Justin, I was going to go with the Ronin -S too...but when I never saw a Brandon review of it, it made me think there might be something else coming that could be better. Glad I waited...now if only Moza could get more of these gimbals to their USA suppliers.
@@paulgero I'm not in any crazy rush for one but I was highly considering jumping to the Ronin. I would really like to see how the follow focus works though after Brandon figures it out as it would be nice to know that the function actually works for those slower non fast run and gun situations. Really excited he did one for them after he had the issues with Moza.
Stumbled into the moza air 2 last week. There aren't much hands on reviews or test footage (that isn't in slow mo lol) out there yet so thank you so much for this! I'll be getting the air 2 after watching your vid. I've noticed lighter gimbals tend to wobble and shake so I dont mind the a heavier weight. You got yourself a new subscriber!
Thanks! In this case I do believe the extra weight makes it steadier. However some heavy gimbals can be shaky - it's all about the motor responsiveness.
Amazing job, I'm sold on this gimbal. Also your instruction, technique and presentation are on point. That model is fit lol she deserves a hot lunch after this shoot!! Good work both of you.
Great review! you are the master handling the gimbal, what makes a great shot is how you walk and run, I can tell from the last scene where the other guy runs compared with your take and I can see the difference. Thank you
Your videos are cool and helpful man.... but you know what is better? Your gimbal run, it’s a cross between mission impossible run and cyclops arms holding the gimbal lol...impressive
Houston Brown hope you bought it direct from Gudsen. I learned the hard way “Warranty policy Gudsen warranty covers all defects in materials and workmanship for all products sold by Gudsen.com.” Buy it from somewhere else and you’re out of luck 😢
Your videos are always great for learning keep doing the great work. I have Nikon Z6 and want to have gimbal so I can use my Nikkor 14-24mm with FTZ Adapter for my real estate videography. Can u plz reccomend the best gimbal which will work best with my combo. Looking for your suggestion. Thanks
I am about to take this out with the bmpcc 6k in 110 degree vegas weather... I have only done the basics... after seeing this, I am in for it haha but stoked
Wow, given the same payload, this is significantly better than the Zhiyun Weebill Lab with your effective 50mm test. Interesting, great video as usual.
@Brandon li. I have the Black Magic 4K and the Sigma 18-35 using the small rig full cage. My crane v2 was just too close to the payload. But holy moly. I’m in really good shape. This gymbal combination is heavy as ****. But. Really awesome gymbal. Finally I can see my screen on the camera
Moza Air 2 Problems & Solutions: 1. Stuck/Jammed Battery Door? - Hold the handle and squeeze the battery door with force. As you're squeezing the handle push down the release button and the door should come off easily. 2. Gimbal Shaking like crazy? - To fix the camera shake. Click the Menu button > Gimbal Set > Motor > Power > Level > Then change the weight level until it stops shaking. 3. Gimbal motors and joystick shut off or stop working? - Double check and see if you left the lock switch up. If the switch is up, the motors and joystick will power themselves off so you won't damage the circuitry. Power off the gimbal. Unlock the switch and the motors should work when you power it back on.
Ronin s without the camera weighs more than moza n a small mirrorless camera on it ... but that too is a great gimbal but moza air 2 is just everything i want from a gimbal ... And as always love ur reviews
Great review :) I wish it was a little more in details. Like quick comparisons with other gimbals and App options, ... but overall - great review checking out some of the new features. Things that I will miss in this gimbal: 1. the slow let go after you turn it off. My Crane 2 does it and it keeps my lenses from hitting the gimbal 2. at least in the begining - dual handle 3. I am not sure does it connect to Sony cameras like having the Clear image zoom control, start/stop recording, charging while shooting? And yes the weight - with the Ronin-S this is just too much of a weight to use with a mirrorless Otherwise the calibration looks great. There were complains from the vibrating calibration in the Ronin-S because it can damage the IBIS in your camera. The Air 2 looks like it is not vibrating, only smooth shake. The idea of changing the modes and smooth control on the speed - awesome! I have going to the app to do that.
Hi Bradon will you consider testing the Zhiyun new release Weebill Lab gimbal? Your review is much more valuable then those unboxing or gimbal reviewer which is crap they all test gimbal with slow motion.
For us real cinema camera users follow focus is a must. True Cinematic cameras do NOT have auto focus. We need to keep our hands off the camera when the gimbal is on. Even the Blackmagic cameras need this. I have this exact brand of gimbal and am in love with it, accept for the weight. But scientifically the weight has to be there for it's high horsepower abilities. ONE FLAW!!! The weight forces you to man handle the grip and that will release the battery door falling at your feet. I had to Velcro strap the door to cure that problem. I am buying the 4th axis chest plate robotic arm to gain more endurance. I am 66 years old and need to get the weight off my arms.
Very nice video , how can i combine joysticks with kovement for corners , it is always too slow for 90 degree curve like walking through doors in house it is aleays behind my speed that i wish
Thanks a lot for that honest review, I have a Zhiyun crane 2 and until now it seems that Zhiyun might be the best in terms of innovation but the last (at least between the big 3) at stabilization. I am looking at the DJI Ronin S which looks very stable but for the even heavier weight. I hope you do a test comparing the Moza air 2 and Ronin S. The Weebil also looks good (I still don't know about stability) for weight form factor if we have to go beyond those heavier setup.
Hi Brandon, I appreciate the review but to be honest when I saw this pop-up my first thought was why in the hell is he putting out yet another review video when he can put out more amazing stories? Having watched many of your videos and seeing the progression of your work it seemed like product reviews would be a thing of the past and you would put out more masterpieces. haha loved it when you let your friend test it... just too show on how heavy it was. This might be the gimbal I would choose though.. or the Dji Ronin S
Hey sir , do you know a fix to this- i found the the joystick is not working with the same speed on Pan ax , what i mean is , when i put the Gimbal with the camera on a table and pan left and right using the joystick , i see that it is going faster in right and slower in left. All tests were made with the joystick moved to maximum in each direction.
No because supports only add weight to the overall kit. And they make it more cumbersome to set up. And they restrict my range of motion. I do crazy moves with my gimbals and I don't want to be wearing a straightjacket.
YES! was wondering when you were going to review the Moza Air 2. looking to get this over the Ronin S. don't really mind the weight since doing mostly intermittent shooting. i like it since it can support both mirrorless and my FS5 if necessary. Ronin S is a pound or two heavier i think but I feel like the Moza gimbals offer better functionality in terms of dynamic shooting.
this is an amazing review and test footage. exactly what we needed. one thing I would of liked to see is the camera mounted backwards(facing the other direction) for long heavy lens setups like I've seen done on the ronin-s and especially the tilta g2x. I'm thinking mount it backwards and use selfie mode?
Your review really confirmed that I should be happy with my preorder ;) You could manage to do very stable shot and seem to very quickly switch more and adjust settings on the fly. I've been holding back buying a gimbal for a while... I was tempted by the Ronin-S a few time, but not to the point to place the order (actually, when I was tempted I wanted to, but DJI wasn't allowing new order ;) I have a DJI Phantom 4 Pro v2 and I'm really disappointed at the gimbal control. There is no good way to set the camera movement so it really smooth and cinematic yet change to a bit faster more without going into menus. So I'm really disapointed at DJI camera control on their drone, and I'm not expecting much more from their handheld gimbal. I really like the screen control of the Moza Air 2, with easy quick individual motor control, with battery removable setup. I think that what was missing on the Ronin-S for me to go forward... I decided to go with their iFocus as well... The Tilta Nucleus-Nano was really tempting... But I think I went with the iFocus because of the Moza Air 2 integrated focus control... I'm interested to see what the iFocus offer in term of feature on their remote controler. It have a screen and what seem to be a wheel control (but maybe it just a up/down/left/right button), which could allow for a lot of different focus control (No manual about it, so I gotta wait for it).
blah blah blah test footage starts @5:52
Haha, thank you!
Amazing video! What was the picture profile that you used!? Looks. Flat but really pretty!!
👍👍👍
one question, ronin s or moza air 2???
Is there anything that allows you to attach it to your hip like a glidecam brace thingy to help with fatigue?
This ain't no gimbal review... This is a gimbal MASTERCLASS. Thanks!
LOL, well said!

This type of picture in picture where you show us what you are doing and the result of that at the same time is extremely helpful.
I have the BMPCC4K with the Sigma 18-35mm balanced on this beast. With the iFocus.
Im training every evening, no extra cost for the gym now :D

Brandon you're like a ballet dancer. I'd have crashed into a tree, dropped the gimble and suffered a full Fototantrum!
This guy is great in his reviews straight to the point and entertaining convinced me.
Excellent, very honest feedback shared. One of the best reviews on this Gimbal. Keep up the honesty and details you shared. That makes you awesome!!!

I didn't review follow focus because I only have focus by wire lenses and ff so basically useless. You need to use full manual lenses.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Heard that! Wasn't sure if it would be something down the line anytime soon, no worries and thanks for the response.

AFTER WATCHING ALL YOUR REVIEWS THIS IS THE ONE FOR ME THANK YOU!
Review plus tutorial in many cases, it is a perfect combination! Thanks!
Brandon,
You are the most enjoyable on RUclips to watch!
Thank you brother!
Glad I pre ordered this sucker. And so glad you reviewed it!
Between skill or gear..this guy got seriously skill
That stabilization though! Wow. Thanks for another awesome video Brandon.

💯 great review compared to the other channels👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 keep it up bro😃
First thing I notice immediately : hey there is finally some space on the right of the camera to access the battery and SD card, nice ! :D
Wait for so long! Finally new video!
Very nice and honest review. Just got mine and really love it. Great gimbal. Purchased the Ronin S and returned it. So far, no steroids needed. :)

This is a fantastic review Brandon! Nice work.
So between the Moza air and the Ronin S which one is a better buy?
i'm still undecided
They're pretty much the same but the Moza is cheaper. I'd say get the moza.
The ronin s is more steady buy the moza air 2 is cheaper and takes more functions. :v
Just got the moza air with follow focus for around $120 cheaper than ronin-s without a follow focus. (not yet launched)
@Common Man Creations yes
Thank you for this review! This is the best one of seen and exactly what I needed.
finaliyyyyy, i be waiting so longggg

All tests were made with the joystick moved to maximum in each direction.
that's how review is done!
Brandon, have you ever used anything to provide extra weight support to the gimbal for using for long shoots?
No because supports only add weight to the overall kit. And they make it more cumbersome to set up. And they restrict my range of motion. I do crazy moves with my gimbals and I don't want to be wearing a straightjacket.
Great review! Curious to see what your thoughts are for the zhiyun weebill lab when you get a chance to review it.
What’s the lightest gimbal compatible with GH5 Sigma 18-35? Maybe like an Icecam Tiny 3 or Zhiyun Plus?
YES! was wondering when you were going to review the Moza Air 2. looking to get this over the Ronin S. don't really mind the weight since doing mostly intermittent shooting. i like it since it can support both mirrorless and my FS5 if necessary.
