Lately I've been OBSESSED with vewn. Yeah, you perfectly described what makes me attracted to her work: The childlike drawings reminiscing my childhood, the unique use of perspectives, colours and characters, and especially the open-minded themes. With Vewn, you can click on any video and expect each one containing a comment section full of various interpretations. I hope that one day I can reach that level of storytelling ^-^
i think what really draws me to vewn is the sense of i guess dread in their art? it just gives me a feeling of "man if i told my younger self i was doing this i would have a panic attack" that ive grown too familiar with, doing shit you shouldnt be doing, doing illegal things, just stuff that as a kid would scare the fuck out of you, i think vewns art really captures that
i think the rat crying was because it was forced to be "mature" at a young age and this is its inner child showing for the first time. ever since being a baby it didn't have the chance to develop itself so it regresses
or maybe because the rat is a baby and babies like to annoy ppl for no reason 👶
Vewn was one of the best random recommendations youtube ever gave me. What made me so enamored with the channel/artist though is that the world is shown in its cluttered and wrecked state no matter what time or place it is. A simple laundry basket, overflowing on its side under a window with a party mix bag filled with trash, leaning on an empty gas station sandwich container would fit perfectly in with the world. It's there, its a mess and nobody's bothered by it. Everything's reached its end point. Utopia doesn't exist, and the characters inside are damaged but not in the predictable ways most people write. They're just existing.
I almost never go back to watch animations once i've seen them once. Vewn is one of the exceptionally rare exceptions and i'm glad they exist. Regardless of what type of person might be behind the channels mask.
I relate a lot to her videos and the feelings depicted within them. I love how connected and universal certain experiences of being can be. The internet makes us feel so alone, but at the same time constantly reminds us that we are not alone in what we go through.
I was SO obsessed with vewn during quarantine, im back at it now and I just bought her mask dog shirt 😂
Binging everything available in her RUclips channel was a great experience
In my opinion, vewn use a childhood drawing type in her animation for vizualation that we can draw and animate people without anatomy shape type ,which catch in our eyes uncounscious .Because we in our childhood draw in that type ,and vewn deeply understand that but vewn even destroys animation skills rules which she does in new lanscapes standart how character need walk and shape type also.
Thats why her animation is cath in eyes and inspires that we can draw as we can and animate it too whith our storytelling .)
I found vewn last night through nothing to hide (bad kid stuff) and found it immensely charming...then I watched the rest of them. I wasn't ready for floatland.
If you like vewn you might like Jonni Peppers and her "waste land series" and her "Secrets and lies in a town of sinners" (which can be seen chronologically in the playlist section), she has a similar vibe to vewn in that same vibe of something you watch when you can't fall asleep at like 3 am.

I think one of the reasons I love Vewn so much is because of the jazzy music. Her art style is really unique and extremely inspiring to me. It's refreshing and new. I'd love to be a creator like her

4:30 formally trained animator here: this can also be called a 'dynamic hold' ! Super fun technique and vewn uses it /constantly/ it looks really good and is one of my personal favorite ways to add flavor :)

i couldn’t go to sleep one night and stumbled across one of her videos on my recommended, i clicked on it and my half asleep sleep deprived self binge watched all of her videos, and Ive never been high before, but at that moment I felt like I was.
Im like a very new vewn fan, and I have to say I think this is the best story telling, and art style Ive seen from most youtubers
