In Europe, the road legal versions, come stock with a restricted intake and exhaust. It makes about 19HP 😂. Get the destructors out and the smog kit removed and you have about 54HP ✅✅✅
Still crazy that in 05-08 model Honda was pulling 55-56hp stock (218lb claimed dry weight). Yes, I’m well aware that it was carbureted and also the curve probably wasn’t as flat, but still amazing none the less, and why some guys are still very competitive on it at local MX races. No CRF or other bike has tempted me until the 2021 crf450rwe came out.
@@StrykerV8 Thats cute. Unfortunately, I don’t feel the need to retract my comment above. Honda claims 53.0 HP for the 2021 (usually this is an “at the crank” measurement). And 244 lbs wet bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_crf450r_2021.php Honda also the claims 55. (If I remember correctly 55.74) for the 2005-08 and 218lbs (dry) add 18lbs to that for the fluids. (This bike was also super easy to drop a lot of weight) www.autoevolution.com/moto/honda-crf450r-2005.html So if Honda is vastly underrating the 2021, cool. But don’t blame the people that read their press clippings and do the research.
@@NickW90 feel like a “slug” regarding power? Is that because the Fuel Injection makes the bike feel much more “lively” or responsive? I have ridden my brothers KTM 350 that has FI, and I didn’t feel like the 05 CRF450R felt slower, but at the same time the CRF is far far from stock including running an R&D powerbowl 2 (which is supposed to make the carb bikes feel much more like an FI, in fact some mags say that if the manufacturers figured out what R&D did with the carb tuning, FI may never have come out, there is probably some hyperbole in that statement tho). This comparison is also comparing a 450 vs a 350 (although, a highly rated one). So it isn’t really comparing it to a 2021 CRF450R which might very well be the best 450 despite what the mags say.
Slr if you ever see this comment just wondering, what ratios are you guys using I know it probably varies slightly track to track but do you guys still stay around the 13/49-50 area or are you guys using a 14t counter shaft sprocket
I believe that's before its broken in, because the 19 450R was like 61 stock, so I'm assuming after the ecu it'll probably be closer to the standard r at around 63ish with Jamies spec.
Super compelling content! Best wishes . Thanks for filming this.
Kaplan cycles dyno'ed a new 450 and it only did like 46-48 hp.

If I have a 2022 one , will I automatically have the updated Map ? (I’m guessing yes)
Pretty good considering a lot of people are only getting around 49-51hp on their 2022 450rs

Might wanna delete your comment lol. The 55hp was at the crank. This 55hp is at the wheel. The new ones make 63 at the crank (15% more is HUGE)

Fouling spark plugs on a 4t? Never heard of that issue before..

so stock you measure about 55. Where are you at after the pipe/fuel/tune?

Do the updates go for the 2017 RX
Yes, twister has plenty of updates for the 2017 rx
