These stems feel great when lubed with something like christolube mcg111 which is not as "sticky" and viscous as 205g0 or tribosys. It's more of a cream than a grease.
UHMWPE stems are very prone to shrinkage and warping. In my experience, it's hard to get them straight like a normal stem, and it really affects the feel of the switch. Not for me even know they are a smoother material.
Awesome review, love the precise measurements. Would you happen to have measurements for the stem pole length as well? Are they longer than Black Ink or Kiwi stems?
Thanks! Yeah I wish I had access to some tangerines :( I'm hoping that stock kiwis sound close enough to stock tangies since they are made of the same materials for housing and stem
@@AustinV yeah too bad they dont work on durock linears, do you think slightly expanding the pole area on the bottom housings will fix the issue? a hot screw driver might be good for the job since using a drill will leave a lot of fibers in the housings
@@themightyj2629 Yeah the bottom post is the main issue they're incompatible. I guess technically if you did expand the size then it would work. Lmk if it works out if you ever do it
Yeah from what I've been reading on the Drop stem reviews, the QC on my stems was a lot better. I measured quite a few and they're all consistent sizing and I haven't had any noticeable issues with alignment or shrinkage
@@GooGooGaGa765 Oh yeah I was just trying to say these stems made by jzun are better than the invyr ones that Drop was selling. Sorry about the confusion
Hmm I'm not sure if they would work with OA switches since those are also manufactured by JWK. If anything, I'd say only lube the rails of the bottom housing just to be safe
Do you think the unlubed 415keys stems are actually nicer and smoother than the lubed stock stems? I bought a bunch of these and was having the issue where they'd get really sluggish after lubing Also did you lube the housings at least when you applied them? Or was any 205g0 just a no go?
For the black inks, they’re already pretty smooth with the stock stems when you lube them, but I think the UHMWPE stems make them sound a lot thockier. I did lube the side rails and around the center post with 205G0, but not inside the center post. For sure you can’t lube the UHMWPE stems or else they will get sluggish like you said
I think so! Assuming the stem posts don't cause an issue like they do on the JWK housings. I don't actually have any milky gat housings so I can't measure them. I'm sure they would sound fantastic if they work!
wow uhmwpe stem inks sound super good
THOCK achieved
Finally, a keyboard stem that meets NIJ Level 3 ballistic resistance standards!
Perfect, I'll just wear a pack of 10k stems next time I go out into the battlefield

Really wanted to get some for durock l1’s but guess not, thanks for the informative vid!

Oh I didn't really have any problems with warping. Mine were all pretty straight. Sucks that yours didn't work out :(

Check out this vid from Shoobs and you can see how the UHMWPE stems compare to other stems: ruclips.net/video/AjKxqaPi_8Y/видео.html

@@AustinV Great, thanks!
Would it be better to just lube the housings, or to avoid these stems if I plan to lube any part of the switch at all?
Imo you only need to lube the side rails and the springs. The stems themselves are already so smooth without lube anyways
been having serious fitment issues with the v4 stems in kiwi switches. seems like half of them are such a tight fit that they will not even return
very informational video and the presentation was paced really well.
BOI I WISH YOU DID SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISONS WITH TANGERINES THO
Thanks! Yeah I wish I had access to some tangerines :( I'm hoping that stock kiwis sound close enough to stock tangies since they are made of the same materials for housing and stem
@@AustinV their leaf might be thicker because they are tactiles so perhaps more scratchy than tangerines because more friction
@@themightyj2629 Oh that's a good point. I didn't consider that. Might have to revisit the UHMWPE stems again in the future with more switches then

I'm considering picking these up for my cream switches. Do you think that they will be compatible?
Yup! They're compatible. I got some cream switches after I posted this and tried them out
@@AustinV Was all the POM on POM resistance gone when you did this and how was the stem wobble?
@@stefanm672 Yeah the scratch was gone, but felt a little sluggish. Wobble was fine. DIdn't really notice any more wobbling than normal
How do you think these stems would sound on a milky top, black ink housing? And is it still worth it to lube and film if using these stems?
Great Vid!
Thanks!
If I buy these and put them in my oa switches should I just lube the bottom housing or the bottom and the stems
Hmm I'm not sure if they would work with OA switches since those are also manufactured by JWK. If anything, I'd say only lube the rails of the bottom housing just to be safe

Unfortunately I don't have any H1 switches, but if they are the same mold as the silk yellows then it prob won't fit

is there any information whether the v4's will be compatible with the NK silks?
Weird, all of mine that I tested work in my R1 silk housings
Strange. Guess you got lucky?

I actually tried them in milky gat and for some reason they don't feel as smooth as the stock stems. They feel great in creams though.
@@GioZexal99 Hmm could be due to the tolerances like how the stems were too big for the JWK housings
@@AustinV yeah I agree, it could be due to that

Hmm not sure since I don't have any OA switches to test with
could these work in a bobagum?
Wondering the same
