Great job! You do it just the way I do but I would like to give you a tip that really helps me out! I have a pallet with a wire twisted around a screw into the pallet to hold the skull when I pressure wash it! I run the wires up through the eye sockets and twist it down then flip it over the other way! Good luck with everything my friend!
I found this channel, by way of in the wood yard. I love your trapping videos Chris, with you and Ken. I’m going to try this with some other critters. 👍✌️
Thank you, my husband did my 10 point buck a few years ago, but it took him all day to do it. I don't think he took the skin off. So next year I might have to do my next buck this way. Thank you again great video.
I wish I would have seen this video yesterday. All others say to low simmer and it took me all day still not done yet. Rolling boil looks like it works and no broken bones 👍🏻
Very nice work Chris. I do one added step at the end. Once the skull is dry I put mop and glow on the skull. Low gloss. It really helps with dust controll on the skull and it seals it.
You wasted one of the best pieces of meat on the animal, Tongue!😉😋 Croc Pot like roast then peel while still warm, skin comes right off, slice for delish Sammich! Enjoyed the vid and got some great tips!
There was a trend down here for a while of hydro dipping European mount so the skull was a camo or something like that. I still don't understand why because I like the natural look like these myself
I’m gonna try your method. Cooked mine a lot longer than the pressure washer just blew the nose right off. Was thinking the pressure washer was too much but maybe over cooking was the actual problem
The nose isn’t held on by anything you want to save anyway. It will click back into place once dry and if it doesn’t a drop of glue will do fine. Cook it low and slow, cooking quickly makes the bone brittle. Sincerely, a taxidermist 😂
So if you want this done right find a big red ant den and build a fence around it that a varmit can get in to and place head in so the ants can get to it and let them do micro surgery on it and it wasn’t take but a mounth or so and can leave the bottom jaw if you wish.
Always get the brain out before you boil ..There is so much oil in the brain and by getting it out there will be less oil in the bone and will whiten a lot better …Love the video.
@@outofthewoodyard saves propane, less water loss due to lower vapor rate. boiling water ain't rocket science. the real work in this video is the pressure washer. good video when you watch it on 1.75 speed. thanks.

It’s a lot easier this way! A good pressure washer is the key.
I wish I would have seen this video yesterday. All others say to low simmer and it took me all day still not done yet. Rolling boil looks like it works and no broken bones 👍🏻
Yeah, it is a fast method! the pressure washer is the key...it takes a lot off fast.
You make it look so easy Chris, but I am going to try my Moose next ! Pretty confident I am!! Thanks for the great how to video cheers Jeff
Thanks for watching! You’ll have to show me the finished moose when you’re done!
Thank you so much for the information video! I think I like this European mount better than the taxidermy one, I'll definitely have to try it!😊
Glad you liked it! It's a fun project for sure.
Awesome video
Thanks, glad you liked it!

The snot holds the nose piece on? Love you videos Jeff.
cartilage.
Looks good they are charging 100-140 to do that here in PA
Thanks..yup, here it is $125-200
Skull mounts look so much better than shoulder mounts.
I like them all!

Perfect 👍🏻👏🫎
Thanks!
Hi Chris nice deer head nice work love it (Ty Ron
Thanks, I appreciate it Ron.

Yup, here too!
Thanks for sharing! You do a great job. I'm torn between bleach and natural.
Thanks! I prefer the natural look. I was told not to bleach because it damages the bone???? The bone is...bone ...so???
@outofthewoodyard I've only ever bleached ill try non bleached next time. I have a big canner full of skulls simmering, try it on a beaver skull next.
I’m gonna try your method. Cooked mine a lot longer than the pressure washer just blew the nose right off. Was thinking the pressure washer was too much but maybe over cooking was the actual problem
Yup, overcooking is definitely a problem. Glad you're going to try it!

Would this boiling work on small animal skeletons?
Sure but it would be different time amount and might be very touchy to control the amount needed to get desired results.
@outofthewoodyard alright thanks!
Does the European deer head work with American deer?
Ha!!! That right there is funny...good one...yes!
@outofthewoodyard lol yeah I was just feeling goofy.. I do all mine and my buddy's eruos

Squeamish wuss I wear one of those grinder faceshields for the pressure washing. 🤪
Ha! I need to get one!

Also pop those ear buds out .
Nice work. The rolling boil and the high pressure washer make it go fast.
Yup, I forgot to show that on this one...next video I do just that! Thanks!
Boiling water doesn't get any hotter than 212F. Turning it up doesn't make it any hotter.
So turning it down does what?

You guys are brutal
Yup, we like to eat!
Dull knife is way more dangerous than a sharp one, keep that blade fresh
Yup...I agree!
Looks good Chris. Needle nose brain surgery.
Yup, getting the brain sack out is always the hard part!
Worst way to do a skull .hot boiling water is not needed. Mop and glo doesnt do anything a clear matte finish wont do.horrible advise all around
I dont see any videos on your channel of how you would do it.
So should my brother and I just throw out the 300 or so we have done that are on our walls??
Are you going to elaborate? Expert
