Was having somany issues when I set up my extender. But following the website and your steps I managed to get this little device to work and now I'm a happy camper. Thanx!
Glad it worked for ya!

Thanks for the very good istructions on setting up an internet extender. My situation was similar to yours with the Spectrum router at one end of my home and my exercise room and Roku at the other in the basement. I purchased a Pix-Link Repeater/Extender and set the device up as an extender as an Access Point. The Pix-Link is connected with an ethernet cable in the Lan port to my Spectrum router. When setting up the Pix-Link access point I added a password. Works great both the Roku and Bowflex treadmill connected each showing excellent signal strength. Exercised this morning no freezing of the Bowflex monitor and the Ruko was flawless.
Thank you, you covered it well
Thank you for doing this set up tutorial. It was very helpful. Set up my extender today. So far so good. A+
Glad it helped!
Mine wont connect with my router please help. I see the extender on my wifi just not connecting to router
@helpcloud what do you do if the website crashes when trying to connect it
Can you use this WiFi extender to connect a hotspot do you can connect a Arlo security camera that must be connected with a Ethernet cable the hotspot is a R910
Thank you so much. Best headache reliever thus far!
How do I setup on a new router
This video was more helpful than the startup guide. Thank you.
You bet!
When he said "WHO LIKES CRAPPY INT----" it literally froze when he said that xD
So I have Verizon DSL home internet (wall phone jack with a phone jack splitter with one cable going into my landline phone and the other cable going into my modem/router ) and we use the wifi (2 laptops, 2 tablets, 3 smartphones, 2 smart tvs) and only get 4.87 mbps download speed and 0.67 upload speed, would this extender increase my download and upload speeds? Or should I just change internet providers? (I am considering Xfinity since it's cable, fiber optics isn't available in my area)
I was confused how to factory reset, but you have to hold it for 10 seconds, but the light will flash and reset. Then you connect it to the new router or modem and then it worked for me. It is working great now. I had a hard time figuring this out and I thought I would share this. I moved and I barely used this at the other place but I definitely need it now. It works amazingly. My modem is in my living room and I have the extender in my hallway. I barely got signal before, but now I get full signal in my bedroom.
Awesome!
i bought this and used it with my net gear dual router unfortunately it keeped changing channels back to the one i was trying to extend set for a novice like me was fairly easy but keeping it connected to the extended signal was impossible so i sent it back
Thank you for your video, I just bought one of these extenders and followed what you did to setup it up. After following what you did it worked and setup was easy thanks for you video setup.
I got the same as u😁
When I plug it in it’s shows 2 networks that have the same name as my original WiFi with _2G and 5G. And whenever I try to connect dns it won’t connect so I tried the online one and whenever I connected to the new network the page never loaded. Any help?
Factory reset and try again.
Can this be used to increase the signal strength to my wifi security cameras? I have 2 cameras (out back and at my driveway) but apparently the Honeywell people are saying the cameras and App are having trouble communicating due to a weak wifi signal. Would this fix that issue?
Yes it can increase the signal strength for anything that is connected to it. Just be sure to get a solid connection to this so it can properly extend the signal! You will however need to go into the camera settings & swap the wifi over to the name you set up on this device.
Would this work to help boost signal to something like the Arlo wireless cameras? Have one camera out by my garage that struggles to keep a solid signal.
If the Camera's wifi is connected to the extender, yes. It should help, just make sure the extender has a solid connection to the Original wifi network.
Thank you so much, was thinking of getting this, now my desision is final.
Let us know how it works!
@@HelpCloud yeah will do!
@@HelpCloud arrived today and was an easier setup than I was expecting. Works perfectly and completly fulfilled what I needed it to do. Definitely would also recommend.
Thanks for your video. I do NOT see a WPS button on my old router or even on my xfinity modem/router. Now what?
It's a temporary code! Be sure to quickly check when sending the signal
so does this boost the signal that goes to wireless cable boxes? i dont need one for my phone, i need to boost the signal to the other side of the house
This boosts the signal for a 2.4 or 5 Ghz wifi network. So assuming your cable box uses your wifi to connect to the internet, this would work.
Set everything up…. Can connect my laptop to it however, the WPS light has not come on… any suggestions?
It works. Anyone explain how ISP dont have control over this of throttling? And how does this pick up my weak outdated wifi to super fast?
What about now ? Is it still good or like others repeaters
Will this work with xfinitywifi ? Some extenders won’t bring up xfinity log in page to sign in and connect
It is compatible with Xfiniity wifi!
This helped sooooo much thank you
You're welcome!
Great help - thank you!
Glad it helped!!
For hotels that do not have ethernet ports, can this also be used for a hard wire setup?
It is possible, although the speed will depend on where the Wifi source is. Since the extender has to grab the wifi signal then send it through the Ethernet port, if the wifi strength is unstable the Ethernet port will be as well. Let me know if that makes sense!
Can these extenders improve/make better my current internet? Or does it just extend the internet? Is a wifi booster the same thing? Thanks
All it does is boost the internet to areas that are unstable.
Netgear N300 Range extender is basically the same as this one and I’m getting a worse connection with it than just the original 2.4ghz channel, original channel is giving me 45mbs and with the extender it drops it to 16 idk what else to do
How close is it to the main wifi source.
OK worked great using extender option - Thanks!
Great to hear!
When I got to the step for the new password for the WiFi I pressed “same as current password” and now when I go to the new WiFi and put my password it says it’s incorrect. Is there a way to redo everything or to change the password??
Factory reset by using a tiny screwdriver or pin on the side where it says "reset"
@@HelpCloud thanks :)
Sorry mate I have mine all set up but I have decided to give use to that sweet Ethernet port but for some reason my computer doesn’t recognise the wired network ... it says something along the lines of “ this connection is missing an IP” . If you can shed some light on the matter I would deeply appreciate it
If you connect to the extender's wireless network, does it work?
Good morning, I bought one yesterday and since arrived, I was trying to connect it and I succeeded. It was difficult for me but I made it.... :) and is more greater than I thought.with that all the house have wireless... with good signal....Am from Puerto Rico...
Awesome!
My problem is that we recently did remodeling on our walls and roof my WiFi was good before never had problems but now I’m getting a lot of lag and I game jitter my modem and router are inside the padio room I have a room outside like a guest house so kinda far away I say like 50 ft can I plug this in my room plug and get a better signal from it or plug a Ethernet cable to this from my room straight to my pc
Yes, you can do either, you will want to determine if AP mode or extender mode is best.
Awesome review! Well done.
How do you use extender mode because I wanna put this upstairs where my ps4 will be and I wanna use ethernet so how will that work
The process in this video is how to setup in extender mode. Once complete, plug the PS4 into the ethernet.
Can you connect your smartphone as a hotspot and extend Wi-Fi from phone thru home or whatever? Thanks for the video.
That should work as long as you have the password to setup on the hotspot.
Great Vid. Can I extend signal via
lan(CAT5E) cable? Signal is to low back
in my garage. Approx 80ft away.
Yes, you can place in AP mode.
Worked great, thanks for posting. On each connect I get an error saying network not available, then all of a sudden it shows connected. Probably a netgear bum trigger.
So if I am buying this and using it for better connection on my PS4 what mode would I use?
You would want to use extender mode.
Does the WiFi router need to be Netgear in order to use this WiFi extender ? Can I use it for a spectrum router with that extender router ?
It does not, this extender is pretty universal.
Very helpful, thank you.
I get through the setup but my connection is stuck on "obtaining IP address".... I have the ex2700.. Tried manual config as youve shown but when I get to the screen where it says connect to a wifi device with credentials and hit continue I get an error that it it is not connected.. when i do it via wps is when i get stuck on the obtaining ip address and it never connects
Reboot the main router/modem. Then try the setup again.
What app is it ? Im having so much trouble connecting it it keeps saying dns server can not connect
Windows 10 has a Hotspot feature. You might have that on?
From a CMD prompt (Windows Key + R and enter CMD and press enter) enter: netsh wlan show all.
If you see HOSTED NETWORK enable and data then this is sharing your SSID. Otherwise, another router nearby is using the SAME SSID.
If you have the router on and see 2, well, there is another one.
I have the netgear ex3700, i have linked it up to my router via wps, have put it in my room and works works great, i have wanted to link it to my Xbox one s via ethernet cable. Is this possible or is this product only a wifi system. I
It does support Ethernet connections!
All i can think, is the netgear needs an update, i currently have an ethernet cable plugged in to the Xbox one and it doesn't recognize it. If you have any other ideas what is, it be really helpful
What is your internet speed and how much you getting from the extender?
I'm paying 200/200 download/ upload and i'm only getting around 20-25mbs.
I have a Gigabit connection and I no longer use this extender. I upgraded to a Deco M5 Mesh system. When I was using the extender, I was getting around 300 down/up.
After I set it up, can i plug in my ps4 via Ethernet to the extender?
Yes as long as it is in extender mode.
Will this work if I only have wifi in my studio & need to connect a desktop to it? I was told my work desktop needs to be plugged into a router
That should work just fine. Make sure the extender has a solid wifi connection. Plug the computer in via Ethernet. Did this same setup just the other day, works great.

What if you set it up already and then it starts to not work? How would i make it work again? Do i have to go thru the same process like i’m setting it up for the first time again?
I would reboot it, then try again. If that doesn't work I would factory reset and re-setup.
Is it necessary for the wps on the wifi extender light on because is not on but it still works with the wps light off
Yes, WPS is another method to connect to the router/modem.
If connect devices through this instead of directly to router fir say roommates does it give any extra security or keep them from getting into my router directly?
No, once setup, you can access the routers IP if the have the sign in info.
Hello I'm having problems connecting to my extender wps or new extender setup isn't working at all when I pull up the website it's not fuctioning when I press the WPS button on my router and extender no connection is established
Factory reset with a small object on the side. Then redo the setup without WPS setup.
I have two of this extenders in my home my router in my living room one extender in my garage and the 2nd one upstairs. I was just wondering if u can have two extender set up?
Yes you can!

Thanks for your review. I almost bought this product but the fact that you need to register online for a genie account (7:09) made me chose another product. I'd be very frustrated if I bought this product and discovered afterwards, so I owe you one.
could this help in an concrete garage I live with a family member who gave me permission to make a small recording/animation studio in their garage if I clean it all out so I'm trying to get a strong wifi signal just to be safe on the strength
Question 2 I saw it has a ethernet port could I plug that into a system? Or is plug to plug just into the router
It could, concrete can be hard to get a good signal through. Best case scenario is to try it out and see. Also yes, you can plug a system into the Ethernet port.
@@HelpCloud roger that when i am able to get I will and if its alright to ask another what would happen if I plug another router into it if that is a option sorry you already said what would happen in your video work is been hard and haven't been able to re-see it but could I do that ? and connect to the wifi that's already there or would that make it its own thing?
Hi,i've been using Netgear EX2700 model...please help me configure it in my desktop pc..
Should be very similar instructions.
I changed services with a new router. The new one does not have WPS. When I follow these instructions I can't find the network Netgear_EXT. Only the two previous wifi names with the 2G and 5G and 2 Netgear 67ext that I need a password for. I think they are for a neighbor. I have fine factory reset but can't find Netgear_EXT. Can anyone help?
Does the the Extender append an "EXT" to your SSID?
It will create a separate network & append EXT at the end. The more expensive models allow for seamless roaming.
Do u think I can connect wirelessly to my router in my kitchen and enthernet cable connect it to my pc?
How far is the kitchen/router from your PC?
HelpCloud I have a one sorry house so like 20 feet? Or 30?
Thanks mate. It was helpful!
I can i use this for Mobile Hotspot tethering.?
The set up is not that easy. Anyway i have a series of questions which you did not cover. You only registered it with you phone. Can you register it on the comp as well as on the TV? How come a USB internet signal receiver can receive single anywhere with no need to plug into an electrical socket like this Netgear extender? What is the range of this device in meters? Can it pick signal from outside your house and bring it into your living room or bedroom? Can you connect an ethernet cable plugged into this device and run it all the way into your TV or even comp? thank you
should the factory reset help me reset the email and password in the wizard genie page?
It will wipe the settings so you can set everything up.
Sooo do you *need* to have a MORDAN wifi router for it to work properly?
For extender mode, you do need a preexisting wifi network. If you want to use AP(Access Point) mode then you can plug a cable into the side and configure a wifi network.
if i bought this off someone and i got to the website page but it asks for email and passwod when i simply dont have a account what do i do?
You can factory reset it by using the reset button on the side. You will need something small like a pin. Plug it in, press the reset button for 30 seconds. Then you can set it up as if it were brand new.
My laptop says it’s connected and the extender says it’s connected green but it can’t load a webpage on my laptop why
That can be from a lot of things. What happens when you try?
Can I plug a lan cable into it from my PS4?
You can if you are using in extender mode.
THANKS MAN
You're welcome!
Can I still use the eithernet cable if I use extendor mode?
Yes, you can wire a device to the ethernet port and have a "wired" connection. In AP(Access Point) mode, you are required to have an Ethernet attached to your router.
after i did the setup, does it matter that the wps light isn’t on?
What color is the WPS light?
well mine isn't working right says it has 4 bar signal and then has exclamation mark and don't work so idk ugh
May need to do a factory reset & try the setup again.
Wait, so I can’t set it up using WPS if I have WEP security?
Correct, WPS setup does not support WEP
Hey I don’t know what I did wrong but my extender is giving me slower speed than I had without the extender
How close is the extender to the main wifi network?

I have a bunch of Smart home stuff hooked up to mine, I would bet if the wifi was a strong enough signal to repeat, you should be good.
Just ordered the new model I need it really bad. Thank you.
Awesome, hope it works for you!
When we get it do we already need to have wifi
It depends, if you are wanting to use it as a repeater, yes. If you are going to use in AP(access Point) mode, you will at least need access to plug directly into the modem/router.
does any one know how to fix when it says "You are not connected to your extender's WIFI network" idk why it shows this if I am connected?
I would factory reset and try again, something may have failed during setup.
Hey quick question it’s been a year since you made this video....how is the device holding up?
Still working well to this day. I have about 5-10 smart home devices/computers on it. It does require a reboot every so often(I reset every other week).
@@HelpCloud hey how do you set up multiple devices? Do you have to go through the same process

FaZe Tom BRUH SAME WITH ME LOL but my ps4 is downstairs (below my router)
how much did yours cost tho
With the router being 2 floors down. This may not work the best.
psn is plaqqy_ I bought the Netgear 30 dollar one lol
HelpCloud Ah so you would say its range is just one floor higher or lower than the router?
Sometimes I get 2 bars of WiFi and I lag so I wanted a WiFi extender so I can have in my room and plug a Ethernet cable to my ps4 so I won’t lag and idk which one to get rock space 750 or this one
Whichever ones has a better speed rating for gaming. This one works pretty well, I can't speak for the Rock Space.
@@HelpCloud yea I’m probably gonna get this one and a cat 8 lan cable
GREAT video. I just want to note that your 56mbps is not the same as mb/s internet providers advertise mbps wich stands for mega BITs per second. and we all assume that means the same as MB/s which is mega bytes per second. the difference is that a mega bit is approximately 1/8 a mega byte.....
Correct.
Is it necessary for it to be in a wall socket or can it go in an extension cord
Saad0un I use it in a extension lead
Either is fine.
For those of you saying that he talks too fast, RUclips has a nice playback speed feature in the video settings. You should use it.

you want the old one no _EXT.
This model does not support seamless roaming and will auto attach the _ext.
can u have a ps4 hooked too it thew landline and still use the wifi. on it for other stuff.
