Ive had many jobs like that, mega frustrating. You should feel comfortable in the knowledge that you had the skills to put it right👊🏼👍🏼imagine having to get a tiler, carpenter and decorator involved 🤷🏼♂️I actually saved a tile that had been cut perfectly around a shower valve, took it out in one piece. When i went back to fit the new valve the customer said they threw it away cos they thought it was rubbish🤦🏼♂️
Feel your paint with this one… I had the exact same job about 12 months back. New shower in place of the old one. Had to smash out a couple of tiles to alter the pipe work in the wall. Luckily had spare tiles….. then few days later…. Back to adjust the max hot temp to the shower as the customer found it not hot enough…. Then got the whilst your here can you change my kitchen tap…. And the toilet also doesn’t flush properly…. Was a gaffer of a big painting firm near to where I live who I know…. Was glad to get it done. Everything was nearing the end of its service life that I touched. Was walking on ice all day long!
That looked like a bastard to do mate. If my customer said to me, oh yeah I forgot to tell you they mixed up the hot and cold. It would have been the customer's head going through that plasterboard wall not the cat's. Nippy little job that was, well done Buddy.
A bit tight drilling the holes on the fixing brackets. I would have used the sticks like sh*t from Screwfix to stick em on. Plumbing is a frustrating trade, I’ve been doing it 58 years so I know what ya going through. Well done for keeping with it, nowt else ya can do really. 👍👍
Cheers Steve. I should have cored smaller holes for the pipes but it’s smallest size I had on the van so yeh gluing it could have been the better shout there! 🙏🏽
@@Heatking Cheers for the reply Dan. Ya lucky ya can find drills in a plumbers van. Mine always a real shit tip n I can never find owt. I like watching ya stuff though, I’m plumbing all day and watching plumbing videos in the evening. I must be losing it. 😂😂😂

Great job on that tile. Worth the effort and you were too hard on yourself about the tile matching. If there is limescale around it just lacked some of that. Do they sell limescale effect tile finish ? 😅 for fast fixing of certain such things i keep a bag of rapid set tile adhesive at home but have found rawlplug r kem II is an even quicker and handier solution.
Big thanks to you mate for the content. Both yourself and Luke have been essential watching during my NVQ 2 and now coming to the end of my gas training. Thanks.
