    the perspective differences between someone who has struggled with weight all her life (Amber) and someone who was skinny all her life (Ashley) is crazy. Everything Amber was saying was striking a chord with me, especially when she said “You have to give yourself the freedom to not scrutinize every single inch of your body…” She has wisdom beyond her years and I can tell she’s still very much in the middle of her journey. It would be so cool to see her come back to this episode and do another in her late 20s

      yeah that would be cool. Even since the last body positivity podcast they did in 2020 I feel like ambers outlook has changed a lot and it’s good to see

    I feel as though this entire episode should be redone because Ashley immediately cuts off Amber & seemingly dismisses her experiences with self image by interjecting. 😕 Amber saying that her family would point out her slight weight change only to be cut off by Ashley talking about how she never experienced that because she was always thin, it’s lowkey tone deaf. Would’ve loved to hear more from Amber, from what she did manage to get in she seems extremely wise and I like the way she articulated herself!

      i agree i was looking forward for amber to share her pov on comparing herself with her older sister because ive had the same experience and felt sad she was cut off i know that they’re sisters and obv amber wasnt offended but i hope ashley realizes it affects the viewers too with how she acted, when amber was speaking i felt like she was telling my story and i was able to relate and ashley cutting her off (i know it wasn’t intentional) lowkey made me feel i was cut off from hearing a story i can relate to i love them both but it would be nice to avoid these stuff in the future especially with these kind of heavy topics

    I think you're gonna get a lot more of these comments so ill just say it rn when it's still early. I am genuine supporter of both of you, you guys are probably my no.1's rn so believe me when I say this is coming from a good place because other people might fully attack ya'll but Ashley was cutting off amber quiet a bit and its just uncomfortable and awkward to watch as a viewer. Specially when its a topic as sensitive as this and amber's trying to get her story across. she is still confident and comfortable in sharing a lot of her insecurities when some people are not comfortable sharing those details. The fact she said she doesn’t workout every single day and why she went vegan at such a young age and quit that diet shows that she is comfortable in telling people how she was at a young age and how she’s grown from that

    Ashley bulldozing the conversation was tough to watch not gonna lie. Being vulnerable about body image is tough and she wasn’t trying to actually listen to Amber. She was eager to talk about herself the entire time but like pls let’s have some empathy. I think also because she didn’t have the same struggle with weight as Amber she doesn’t feel the weight of this topic as much

    • @ssyeinah
      @ssyeinah 2 месяца назад +1

      she definitely was listening. she sat and listened to amber for very decent stretches of time, and it was clear that she was sympathizing and understanding. there were some interruptions, but they were triggered from things amber said that she played off of. they both went back and forth throughout the video. ashley was barely able to talk in depth about her experience with body image when she reached puberty, but she was totally there for amber during her sections of the video when she talked about her experience with eating as a child and veganism.

    Never related to something more when amber talked about being the "chubby" sister. It's so messed up that society always puts sisters against each other and compares them, even the own family sometimes. I honestly think you guys are one of the most beautiful girlies I have ever seen (no 🧢), I would've never imagined you guys being insecure (especially amber) because you are both so beautiful - on the inside and outside. I am glad you're both confident in yourselves right now ❤❤

    I love AMBER, she was truthful in sharing that the reason she became vegan was to not gain weight and she gave it up because she wanted to enjoy food and not think about weight. I think that shows a lot of growth in her however not hating on ASHLEY but when she said she doesn’t care about her weight - but girl you confessed you workout (PILATES..etc) everyday. People dont go to workout classes everyday if they are not trying to gain weight. Some people dont have time for hour long workout classes unless weight loss is a priority. I must confess, around 2020-2021 I had an unhealthy obsession with you guys where I constantly compared my body to yours! I remember watching Ashleys bikini videos as my inspo to lose weight and starve myself. So watching you both sitting there talking about insecurities made me realize how much we all have grown up and are in good places with our body image now. I also think that as women our bodies tend to change so much through our life because of hormones etc so I think it's just healthy for us to not be obsessed with every pound we gain or lose and just enjoy our life and our health! I started pilates because of ashley, unironically my body didn't changed much from the outside (I just love food to much 😛) - but I feel fitter and stronger than ever before, so I am more confident than ever. Thx Ashley

I think the people downplaying it and saying “that’s how conversations work, that’s how I am with my sister, etc” are just normalizing an unbalanced conversation dynamic that can be really hurtful. Self-awareness in convo, leaving space for people to talk, listening to understand and allow the other person to feel seen and important, etc these are all skills learned so kudos to everyone for noticing and speaking up and doing so in a respectful way that didn’t bash Ashley. Amber, I related to your perspective so much! And even a same timeline! It is def something I still struggle with and might always struggle with slightly, but it can and does get a bit more manageable/less consuming. Shoutout our frontal lobes. I am so happy to hear you both have been able to work through these things though and I hope you continue to know you are loved and worthy no matter what you are perceived as.

    Thank you beautiful twin sisters for sharing your experiences and thoughts when it comes to body image and your relationship with food! As someone who's been recovered from an ED for almost 5 years (yay lol), I appreciate your perspectives! Im not sure if you guys may read this, however, what helped me get past my bad body image and negative relationship with food was a phrase I received during my recovery journey which was "Nourish to Flourish!" From that, I began to develop a positive relationship with food by finding a balance between the "unhealthy" and "healthy" foods. I started listening to what my body needed, felt less restrictive as I was allowing myself to have both kinds of foods, and to this day, (I used to be a vegetarian due to the same reasons you guys went vegan) I can now feel guilt feel when nourishing my body, which I thought would be impossible! I hope my words can be helpful for you guys to view foods in a more positive light! Of course we all have different perspectives! :)

I always watch your videos including Andrew. This podcast shooked me first I was listening just because I love you guys , but especially Amber bro, the things she talked about I swear I never thought someone would even try to understand, and she understands 😮. Wow, keep this podcast its so important 😘🌹 I swear I have no words good job girls😘😘😘😘

    Body image is a difficult conversation to have, so big props to the btsp !! Showing vulnerability or like talking about our own experiences in the internet is soooo hard nowadays because people have kinda adapted this black and white thinking ? Idk but seems like lately nobody listens with an open mind or something lols I hope it doesn’t bring you down! Always here to listen to my favorite sisters 🫶🏼

    Loved this topic, specially coming from you guys, as influencers you get to be role models for some of your viewers. Although i think there were some topics missing since you deal with social media in a different way than us as viewers (maybe insecurities so you can show that as beautiful as you are, you are still exposed to that not feeling pretty day) love you girls, such a pleasure to begin my day with your talks❤

    i can relate to amber sm it's craazyy. actually it's not bc as y'all said a lot of people go thru stuff like this. that doesn't take away from anyone's personal experience tho. i'm currently in a healthier place with my eating (even tho the thoughts sometimes affect me) but i'm also still working on my relationship with working out. when i was a kid i always attached working out to wanting to be skinny so it's hard to have a healthy relationship with it now. i'm trying to focus on the inner aspect of it and the rush of happiness it gives you. baby steps but i believe i'll get there :') listening to this as a younger sister with a big sister was so relatable too.
    it kind of bummed me out that amber was cut off when she was sharing her personal story because the topic is pretty heavy. i know it happens a lot with sisters (i have one too) and you can't really stop it completely but i hope you guys r more mindful of eachother's experience just for the future

    First of all loved the podcast! I was around during the early vegan RUclips era and still am vegan to this day and plan to continue. But I definitely remember going into veganism to be ethical and somewhere along the line, I developed an eating disorder. Due to that my mental health definitely started to revolve around being super skinny and always eating healthy! Like no oil, raw til 4, no added sugar, no processed foods, etc! It was crazy looking back at how restrictive it got. I definitely had to self-assess and re-program my brain to not think that way and instead show gratitude for the food that I have access to. I'm vegan now for the right reasons and because the science behind it does show how horrible the industry is and 100% how horrible it is for the environment. But yeah I totally connected with your stories lol. Y'all are so beautiful! Keep slaying ✨

    Can completely relate to feeling self conscious when eating, years before I knew I had disordered eating! Still years on, I still find it hard, but trying everyday to be like "it's okay, it's not "disgusting", my self worth doesn't depend on what this person thinks of me...", not always easy, depending on my mental state at a given time, but we try and push through! 💜💫
